Rihanna's Schedule Is Booked, Including New Year's

Rihanna was out and about for another hectic day of promoting Rated R in NYC yesterday. First up was a stop by the radio station Hot 97 in a white blazer, before she put on her black coat for lunch at her usual spot, Da Silvano. The next item on her agenda was an appearance on The Late Show in yet another dark ensemble. She was on hand to perform "Russian Roulette" - check out the video after the jump.

Rihanna wound up her day in a sparkly gold dress for her record release party at the Supper Club. She was joined by both Jay-Z and recent birthday boy Diddy, who shared with Yum his secrets to a successful bash. Ashley Greene also paid a visit after her own Maxim party, and she was spotted leaving around the same time as Rihanna headed home in a red outfit. The hectic scheduling isn't going to slow down for Rihanna anytime soon, as she's just signed a deal to perform in Abu Dhabi on New Year's for half a million dollars.

Sarah Harding celebrated her birthday over the weekend with a party at her night spot, Kanaloa. She wore a Spring 2009 Preen dress to the party, which we saw much earlier in the year on Leighton Meester at a Nylon party. Who Wore It Better? Cobalt Silk Marchesa Mini

It's stiff competition when it's between the model-like designer of the dress and an actual model. Alas, we must decide. Both beauties wore this cobalt strapless silk wool dress with draped bodice and kept everything to a minimum, to let the dress shine. Stunning earrings were adorned by both, as well as neutral pumps - though Jacquetta's sandals have a slight gold sheen. We don't witness Georgina's handbag, but Jacquetta's embellished gunmetal Marchesa clutch looks pretty cool. Who wore it best?

Cosmopolitan's Ultimate Women of Year Celebrate Together

Our friends at Cosmopolitan UK held their Ultimate Women Of The Year Awards at London's Banqueting House last night. Winners included TV Personality of the Year Dannii Minogue and TV Presenter of the Year Holly Willoughby. Kimberley Walsh broke up all the black dresses in her white number and won the Woman's Woman award, while Lacey Turner picked up the TV Actress gong and Pixie Lott was named Newcomer of the Year. Brooke Kinsella was honoured as the Ultimate Celeb Who Made Us Care, the Funny Woman Award went to Ruth Jones and Freddie Filntoff was named Man of the Year.

Denise Van Outen was glowing on the red carpet following her pregnancy announcement. Alesha Dixon was one of the presenters at the ceremony, which was hosted by Fearne Cotton, and both women looked gorgeous in their LBDs. Louise Redknapp was daring in her gold dress while Sarah Brown dared to bare in her low cut number.

2010 Spring: Calvin Klein, CK Jeans, and CK Underwear

Clean. Precise. Minimal. Three terms Calvin Klein wants you to use when describing its Spring '10 collection. Staying true to the house's less-is-more aesthetic, Francisco Costa has delivered a line of basics with a sexy utilitarian nature. You'll find organic fabrics and most colors of the rainbow: sand, white, and khaki as staples, canary, melon, poppy, fuchsia, turquoise, and cobalt as accents. Drawstring cargos, denim vests, fitted blazers, parkas, denim judo pants, and shirt dresses are all solid. But one print piece stands out as the cool black sheep: a black-and-white, tie-dye dress that's feminine and bold.

Swimsuits are also part of the Spring family - a two-piece in warm gray and a one piece in solid gray or gray Bengal print. The handbags are equally minimal; hobos, totes, and rounded clutches are smooth and unstructured, with gold and silver hardware. Wooden-stacked heels and flat sandals are au naturel and sporty.

Celebrity Style: Whitney Port in London

Last night, I was lucky enough to attend an exclusive screening of the first new episodes of The City and The Hills. Both series begin on MTV on 18th October and the first episodes are pretty explosive! Whitney Port attended the screening showing off her amazing model-like legs in gold tights and a cute white dress. She later layered up with a leather jacket and accessorised with a quilted handbag for dinner in Knightsbridge. Whitney spoke briefly about loving London shopping (especially Selfridges and Topshop) and her clothing line, Whitney Eve, which she would "love" to see in the capital's department stores.

Gold by Giles for New Look

Giles Deacon was flying the flag for British fashion in Paris earlier this month as he took his designs across the channel. Despite being busy, he still had time to create another amazing collection for New Look as he produces his ninth line for the store. There are a few pieces of partywear with plenty of sequins and killer heels. My favourite item in the striped one shoulder dress which is great for day to night wear. This Is It: A Worthy Final Farewell

Making a tribute film after the death of an icon is a difficult undertaking - how do you do justice to his or her life without making it feel overblown? But the new Michael Jackson documentary, This Is It manages to strike that balance. The anticipation for its limited release has been building for more than a month now when early ticket purchases broke sales records, and most of you said you wanted to see the film as well. I was worried about how the doc would measure up to the hype, but I'm satisfied with the final product.

This Is it follows Jackson in his final days preparing for his sold-out tour. MJ emerges dressed in a button-down, shades on, and with director Kenny Ortega at his right hand, as we get a front row seat at the rehearsals. It proves to be an intimate look at the performer who, even at 50, still had a fiery passion for his craft. Most of us will enjoy witnessing it here on the big screen, while others may leave the theater feeling even more disappointed about never getting to see the live show. To see what I mean, read more.

MJ fan or not, you can't see this film without feeling awestruck by his dramatic flair as an artist. His voice is still on point, and his every movement on stage is punctuated by a flick of the wrist or a kick - it's like the music surges inside him and he has to stream it out through his fingertips. He still had the magic only weeks before his death.

While Jackson's dance skills may be a given, I was actually taken aback by how hands on he was in all facets of his tour. This is It shows him working on everything from green screen films to teaching choreography to attending band rehearsals. These sneak peeks provide surprisingly funny moments, but one of the loud-and-clear messages of the film is that Jackson did this for his fans. All of the popular favorites are included - "Billie Jean," "Smooth Criminal," and "Thriller," of course. Jackson knew that's what the audience wanted, and he was happy to give it to us - while wearing his signature sparkly gold pants and a fedora.

The doc does have its drawbacks; some of the footage starts to feel stale midway through, and the film feels too long at nearly two hours. Still, I understand why the editors didn't cut anything in honor of Jackson's memory. Each song was important to him and he wanted listeners to hear his message. (He even speaks on his concern for environmental causes in the film). Before the closing credits, Jackson says he wants to "remind the world that love is important" - and even after his death, he manages to do so by leaving us with memories of a man who never stopped loving his fans or the music.
