Blake Lively always looks so pretty and friendly on the red carpet, and last night at the Where the Wild Things Are premiere, her look deserved a gold star. Freida Pinto has been making Paris considerably more adorable this week, holding hands with cutie boyfriend Dev Patel at the fashion shows and taking to the streets in a variety of sweet outfits. At the Louis Vuitton show, her makeup was the standout part of her ensemble. It was subtle, but it gave her a gorgeous glow and played up her features perfectly. All Aboard! The Nars 2009 Autumn Colour Collection Is Here

Not only does this year mark the 15th anniversary for Nars Cosmetics, but last Monday was the highly anticipated launch of the brand new six-item Autumn 2009 Colour Collection. The inspiration behind the goodies came from none other than the young and precocious icon, Lolita. François Nars was "looking for a model who could represent the modern, independent woman, but who also had a girlish, innocence about her."

It's funny, because I thought the ad campaign doll looking model was Lily Donaldson, but it's actually a Canadian beauty named Heather Marks whose career began in 2003 with Givenchy. The photographs were taken in New York City by François Nars himself, and Heather is wearing the products from the '09 line whose names incidentally were influenced by Nars' pursuits and interests, yet they don't necessarily have any direct correlation to Lolita.

My favourite product is a nail varnish called Tokaido Express (£12.50). From a distance it looks black, but up close it's a purple shade with gold flecks that look rich, exciting and ridiculously chic. Wearing this polish is akin to wearing a fabulous cuff or statement piece.

Fast Ride Lipstick: (£17) is an edgy, dark mulberry (and totally intimidating lipstick) that falls somewhere between an intense stain, and a gothy purple. What I love is its that the sheen keeps it looking fashion forward and seductive.
Mekong Single Eyeshadow: (£15) is a must for those with green or hazel eyes. The black-brown shadow contains rose gold flecks that make green eyes pop!
Silk Road Duo Eyeshadow: (£23) is a new pair of powder shadows that were influenced from traditional damask fabrics. One side houses a frosty pink whilst the other side is a rosey gold with golden shimmer.
Brumes Duo Eyeshadow: (£23) is another new powder shadow duo that has a matte charcoal shade one side (great as a liner or for the ultimate smoky eye) and the other side is a sparkly sky blue hue.
Indian Summer Duo Eyeshadow: (£23) is the most fashion forward of the eyeshadow pairs. Inside there's a frosted khaki shade beside a bold, matte, mustardy colour.
Tokaido Express Nail Polish: (£12.50) is black-plum varnish enhanced with finely milled gold sparkles and is named after Japan’s famed high-speed railway. From afar you'd think it's black, if you look a little bit closer, it's far more interesting!

Estée Lauder Goes For the Gold This Fall

When it comes to makeup, I love gold, much like Austin Powers's nemesis, Goldmember. Not only does this shimmery color blend nicely with all skin tones, it helps bring a brightness to the complexion like none other. Estée Lauder's limited-edition Sensuous Gold collection features this gilded shade, accompanied by warm nudes and rose accents.

The highlights of the collection, which undoubtedly played a part in a "your makeup looks great" compliment I received this morning, include the Signature Eyeshadow Quad with Hammered Gold Design ($35), featuring four flattering colors that run the gamut from matte to shimmery finishes, and the Gilded Rose Marbleized Shimmer Powder ($36), a multitoned, brightening sheer coverage bronzer. The Rose Gold shades of Pure Color Multi-Shimmer Gloss ($18) and Pure Color Nail Lacquer ($18), along with the gold-shimmered Terracotta and Cinnamon shades of Hydra Lustre Lipstick ($19.50), complete the collection. How-To: Amy Adams's Peachy Makeup

I expect we'll be seeing lots of red-carpet looks from Amy Adams, as her latest flick, Julie and Julia will be released in theaters next Friday. At last night's NYC premiere, Amy amped up the volume with some bouncy waves and a warm, glowing face. "We went for a steel and copper smokey lid, gorgeous full lashes, a peachy cheek, and a golden amber lip," said CoverGirl celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern, who created the look.

"Last night Amy wore a gorgeous full-length Carolina Herrera gown with a charcoal and white pattern speckled with gold beading. So I borrowed from that exquisite color palette," Stern said. Givenchy Summer 2009: Le Makeup Collection

New from Givenchy is it's Summer 2009 Le Makeup Collection inspired from a post-rainstorm on a paradise island when the golden light makes your skin glisten. The collection contains eleven items, with the star being the Glow To Wear Satiny Body Enhancer (£21.13), which basically is a liquid gel bronzer with a copper tinge that creates a shimmery tanned glow. It's scented with the new Givenchy fragrance too (Radiant Blossom) which contains notes of orange, bergamot, peony, iris, jasmine, rose, vanilla and musk. Yep, you guessed it, this product, in fact the entire collection is a keeper. It's elegant, decadent and pampering.

Nars Launches Sexy Summer Range as the Brand Turns 15

Get excited because today, Selfridges's is launching a two week sneak preview of the new Nars Summer 2009 Collection inspired by Francois Nars' love of the tropics. The nine products are chic, bold and seductive. He says, "The look for Summer 2009 is sophisticated, but colorful." There are three eye shadows, two lipsticks, a lip gloss, lip liner, nail polish and an amazing bronzer that makes a great addition to cult classics like Laguna, Casino and last season's bronzing multiple.

The star product of the group is clearly the tropic eye shadow. This enchanting teal blue flecked with sexy silver is captivating and different. I'm a little shy with blue shadow, so I think I'd wear it as an accent colour in the crease or as a liner. Do you wear blue eye shadow?

Also, to celebrate the 15th birthday of the brand and to promote the newbies, on 24th and 25th April, one of my favourite makeup artists Jane Richardson will be doing personal consultations. Tropic Single Eyeshadow (£15) is an electric teal powder shadow with hints of striking silver.
Scorching Sun Duo Eyeshadow (£23) contains two powder shadows: a rich burnt yellow-orange and a darker, apricot orange.
Irresistiblement Bronzing Powder (£21) is a new, deeper terracotta take on the classic cult bronzers laguna and casino.

How-To: Debra Messing's Makeup at the Golden Globe Awards

Whether you loved it or hated it, you've got to hand it to Debra Messing for going a bit bolder with her color scheme last night, particularly when it came to those heavily lined peepers.

The founder of Lorac Cosmetics, Carol Shaw, was the makeup artist behind Messing's look. She applied sultry green and black accents, which complemented Messing's midnight blue Zac Posen gown, keeping the cheeks and lips soft and neutral. And I've got the how-to when you read more.

Eyeshadow: To create that interesting peacock effect, the first shade of Color Me Couture Eyeshadow Palette ($37) was applied from lash to brow. Next, the third eye shade - a warm rosy gold - was swept on the lid and outer corner. Then, the jade green shade was used on the lid and crease, intensified even further with an application of Eyeshadow in Green Room ($17) over it. Black eyeshadow was used on the outer corner of the eyes and crease, and also to connect the bottom and top lash lines.
Eyeliner: Shaw lined the upper lash line with a liquid liner called Front of the Line Eyeliner in Black ($20). Then, a black eye pencil was used inside the eye for further contrast. To tie the look together, she smudged Green Room Eyeshadow under the eye for a sultry finish.
Cheeks: The Hot & Spicy Blush/Bronzer Duo ($28.50) peach shade was used as a blush, and the bronzer was used to contour.
Lips: Shaw lined Messing's lips with Pencil for Lips in #18, a light rosy nude, and applied Couture Shine Lip Gloss in Trend Setter ($22), a pearly peach shade.

Coming Soon: Estée Lauder Vivid Garden Summer Color Collection

I can't say that I've been to a real, official afternoon tea in the garden. I can't say that I've even officially been to an afternoon tea - that is, unless you count my friend's baby shower in Ohio, where it was snowing outside, but we still enjoyed bite-sized treats like mini cucumber sandwiches and clotted cream in the comfort of indoors. Regardless, a garden-side afternoon tea sounds quite nice, don't you think? And that's exactly what inspired Estée Lauder in its Vivid Garden Summer Color Collection for '09.
While there will also be a warm Bronze Goddess Collection for the rising temperatures ahead, the limited-edition Vivid Garden palette focuses on whimsical, floral-inspired vibrant shades such as pinks, purples, teal, aquamarine, and lime. Creamy textures and sheer glazes provide the finishes.
