If you're into sending a bit of snail mail every once in awhile, then check out MapEnvelope and toss those boring plain white envelopes aside. MapEnvelope allows you to print out a custom DIY envelope that's adorned on the inside with a map of your location (or anywhere Google Maps can go), along with a message to your recipient. Just cut it out, glue, and you're ready to stuff with a letter to your far off love.

You've used Google Street View to check out your block, your 'hood, and your destinations. Now if you can't be in Whistler for the 2010 Winter Olympics, you can use Street View to check out the downhill slopes that will be home to thousands of skiers for the next few weeks and use the new Olympic-themed Google Map to get an up close and personal look at the games.
Armed with street-view enabled snowmobiles, Google has been hard at work tracking the courses of the Whistler Blackcomb Mountains to give you a sneak peek of what's to come at 7,000 feet.

The next time you drop in to a new city or just wander into a new part of town you're not familiar with, Google wants to make it easier to find your way. Even if you don't have Google Maps installed on your Android or iPhone handsets, you can find the nearest ATM, coffee shop, bar, or restaurant with a single web page.
By pointing your mobile web browser to Google.com and allowing Google to access your location, you can then tap into Near Me Now, Google's latest lab for mobile.

When you use Google Maps, the distance you're getting from point A to B is in driving, walking, or public transportation terms. But, if you just need to find the distance between two points on a map, then check out this cool Google Map mashup: Distance From To. It works just like Google Maps where you put in your starting and ending point, and gives you exact distance in kilometers and miles, but leaves out all that messy info like turn-by-turn directions and traffic.
