What Cell Phones Do the Gossip Girl Characters Have?
Just because there wasn't a new episode of Gossip Girl this week that doesn't mean we can't gossip about them. For today's fix, I'm going to challenge you on which cell phone each of the characters have. 2008 has been a crazy year for the Upper East Siders, and their mobile accessories have undergone quite a bit of change as well.
Penelope's Blue Cell Phone on Gossip Girl: It's Electric
On Gossip Girl, no character is too small — especially when it only takes but one camera phone pic to bring down entire friendships, romances, and social constructs. This week's episode featured the devious Penelope, formerly one of Blair's minions, but a rabble-rouser in her own right of late.
But her evilness isn't what I focused on — it was that electric blue cell phone she whipped out to peep Gossip Girl's post about Vanessa and Nate making out.

On the arm of Nate, Vanessa's social status — and screen time — has definitely increased on Gossip Girl. The onetime gal pal of Dan, Vanessa is now holding her own at places like the opera, in gorgeous formal confections. She also carries a pretty stylish cell phone, a silver LG eNV.

Hello, Gossip Girl props! It seems that the scheming characters of the CW's Gossip Girl are a little careless with their cell phones — or does disposable income just allow them to have a cell phone for one episode and then upgrade? It began with Serena Van Der Woodsen, who was spotted in an early episode of the show with an unmistakable iPhone, pictured.
Gossip Girl and the Attack of the Candy-Colored Cell Phones!
The addiction to their cell phones is a defining characteristic of the Upper East Side teens on Gossip Girl. Despite their inclination to stick to a certain provider, Blair, Serena, and the gang are still somewhat picky about their cell phones — they want them to match their clothes. Yes, these girls love to rock the rainbow-hued phone — there's plenty of black and silver phones on the show as well, but you won't find those in my slideshow — just color, color, color.
Gossip Girl Loves: LG
Even though Gossip Girl may have an Apple aversion, they don't shy away from featuring LG products (as long as they're carried by sponsor Verizon, of course). Nearly every character has carried a cell phone from the South Korean maker, and they're often fitting on the stylish show, considering the rainbow of colors many of the phones come in — perfect for matching to their outfits! Serena van der Woodsen's Cell Phone Evolution
Sure, Britney, Paris, Lindsay, and Hilary have all had cell phone evolutions, but they're real people who are upgrading. The only fictional character I can think of who switches out her cell phone so fast is one Serena van der Woodsen of Gossip Girl. She's had at least two cell phones per season so far, changing them like she changes her incredibly short skirts.
Jenny's New Cell Phone on Gossip Girl: HTC-tastic
Since it looks like pretty much every single character on Gossip Girl got a new cell phone for Season Two, I thought some of you might be curious about what your favorite Upper East Siders are carrying since you've been back into this season's tech quizzes! Last week I told you Blair had a new maroon eNV2, and this week my gaze is fixed on the budding couturier, Jenny Humphrey.
Jenny used to have a pink RAZR — which I think fit her really well — but it looks like she's picking up some tech fashion steam with her internship.
Geek Goods: Blair's New Maroon Cell Phone on Gossip Girl
Loyalists to geeksugar's Gossip Girl tech quiz would know that this season, the casts' season one cell phones have been replaced with flashier, more up-to-date cell phones. Mizz Blair Waldorf here, you'll note, had an oft-matching orange LG eNV last season, but is now sporting the new version of the same phone: the LG eNV2.
What's fun about the choice is that the older and newer version both came in black, and then a couple random color options.
Gossip Girl: What the Boys Are Carrying
Pop may be concerned with who the hottest guy is on Gossip Girl, but I have yet another way to judge them beyond their pretty faces: What gadgets they've got! As I mentioned earlier this season, all the characters have new cell phones, like Blair's new LG eNV2 and Jenny's HTC Touch, but the love wasn't limited to the ladies. The guys have new cells too, and this season they're used for situations as scandalous as the girls get into.
