What Do You Think of Leighton Meester's Mixed Makeup Look?

Last night at the American Eagle Outfitters flagship store preview party in New York City, Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester really played up her new rockstar style wearing cherry red lipstick paired with a mix of metallic gold and smoky purple eye shadow. This is an updated version of a popular red and purple trend from the 1980's, and it totally oozes too cool for school - even for high society institutions like Constance or NYU! There has been a retro feel on the set of Gossip Girl recently. The cast and crew are currently working hard on the third series but my girl PopSugar UK has been providing us with sneak previews of the action happening in the Big Apple. Hilary Duff has joined the show and got in to the '20s revival. I noticed that both Hilary and Taylor Momsen have been spotted in layered necklaces which is sure to spark a comeback. Sneak Peek! Gossip Girl Fashion, Season Three

Set your timers everyone, the countdown for Gossip Girl season three has begun. Come Monday, the Upper East Side kids will be starting college, so that means more freedom, more drama, and even more delectable clothes. While I can't predict the storyline - check out some preview clips here - I can give you a glimpse into what they'll be wearing. By now, I'm sure you've pinpointed everyone's unique style. Pop Preview: Gossip Girl

Yes, the day FabUK and I have been waiting for is finally here – Gossip Girl premieres in the UK tonight on ITV2 at 10pm! So it's time to get you up to speed with the stylish, sexy and increasingly funny show. Based on the teen books by Cecily von Ziegesar, GG is the New York-set OC. So there's slightly warmer clothes covering the toned bodies on set. The series follows a bunch of mostly uber-privileged (and good looking) kids in Manhattan as they rebel against and gossip about, well, everything. I've seen several episodes of the show thanks to a trip to the States, and I love it.

You'll be lusting after the girls' wardrobes and their boys, including the lovely Brit Ed Westwick who plays a fairly disgusting (yet consistently amusingly dressed) character called Chuck Bass (and sings in the band The Filthy Youth in his spare time - how appropriate).

I introduced you to three of the girls in February, including Blake Lively and Rachel Bilson-lookalike Leighton Meester, who play Serena Van Der Woodsen and Blair Waldorf the best friends / mortal enemies at the centre of the show. Nate (Chace Crawford) is Blair's love interest, outsider Dan (Penn Badgley) has a major crush on Serena, Jenny (Taylor Momsen) is Dan's younger sister and a wannabe Blair, and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) is an old friend of Dan's.

Buffy star Michelle Trachtenberg has just begun filming the show too, so a more familiar face to some has joined the lineup, and I can't wait to see what they do with her character. But that's in the future. For now, let me leave you with a little premise, courtesy of the people at ITV2, lots of pictures, and a slightly more in-depth sneak peek.

Welcome to Manhattan's Upper East Side, where gossip rules and affluent prep-school students find themselves with the money, access and appetite to explore all the temptations New York City has to offer.
The privileged prep school teens learn that Serena is back in town the way they learn all the important news in their lives: from the blog of the all-knowing albeit ultra-secretive Gossip Girl. No one knows Gossip Girl's identity, but everyone in this exclusive and complicated vicious circle relies on her website and text messages for the latest scoop. Even Serena's closest friend, Blair, doesn’t welcome her mysterious return to Manhattan with open arms. One thing is for sure, when Serena was out of the picture, Blair enjoyed her time in the spotlight, and she has no intention of going back to living in Serena’s shadow. The tension between the pair isn’t lost on anyone in this crowd, who live for gossip and scandal – along with fashion, shopping and partying in Manhattan’s trendiest hotspots…

I warn you, this is a pretty thorough sneak peek from the US premiere of the series last year which will give you a great taster for tonight, but don't watch it if you don't want to be spoiled as it is about five minutes long:

I'm not sure that the Gossip Girl spinoff (previewed on the show last night) about Serena's mother, Lily Rhodes, will have enough tech in it to warrant a weekly tech quiz like its mother show, but maybe its '80s setting will have some of the Me Decade's coolest vintage technology. Fab Blab: Victoria Beckham and Marc Jacobs in Conversation

Do you remember when Roberto Cavalli couldn't recall Geri Halliwell's name in an interview after designing the Spice Girls' tour costumes? Well, that's just one reason I always feel a bit dubious about "friendships" between designers and celebrities.

It seems the same can't be said about Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham who have grown an unusual relationship over the past few years, with her starring in very memorable ads for his design house.

I would love to be a fly-on-the-wall whilst this pair chatted away, and with Victoria's famous sense of humour I don't doubt that they share a few laughs. Whilst I can only dream of gaining such access, the Bergdorf Goodman magazine has a good alternative.

The Spring issue of the publication contains a conversation between the two friends, offering a brief insight in to their world. WWD have today provided a preview as they discuss Marc's Harper's Bazaar shoot and how the customer is the most important person to him.

"The customer is the woman who wants a great dress. She’s not concerned with what a critic thinks, or what a gossip column says about my boyfriend."

Mrs. Beckham also discussed the problems she faces with the media.

"When you are well-known in the tabloids, and you’re trying to break into a new industry, it makes it very difficult, because people get preconceptions, and so everybody thinks that I am a miserable bitch who goes shopping every day."
