It's been a month, and boy have things changed. I've totally overhauled my hair and skincare regimens, learned how to make my own makeup, and even gotten rid of antiperspirant. Today, I put on concealer for the first time in five weeks and it felt utterly strange (but awesome).

To me, being healthy involves more than exercise and a balanced diet — I also try to live in ways that are eco-conscious and sustainable. I recycle, eat organic and local food, and do my best to cut down on waste. I feel better knowing that I'm helping preserve our planet, and a good state of mind is essential for healthy living! This philosophy shouldn't stop at cocktail hour.

Kermit the frog may think it isn't easy being green, but it sure is easy to be green with gadget envy. You can never have enough, so choose wisely and purchase items you will treasure as long as they live. If you love all things green, grass-tinted gizmos are calming, unisex and a little retro (doesn't this Bermuda headset remind you of vintage cars?).

I recently visited beautiful northern Vermont, and the South Farm Homes development in Hinesburg. This six-home development aims for "net-zero" status, meaning that the homes will generate as much power as they use over the course of a year. Environmental features include active PV solar panels integrated into the metal roofing of each home and significant southern glass, which provide solar gain (as well as lovely views of the surrounding valley).

Last week when I spoke with Gail Simmons about weddings, I was blown away by her inspirational ideas. Although she may not come across as a green goddess when she's judging Top Chef, she's actually very eco-conscious. Having an environmentally friendly wedding was very important to her and her now-husband, Jeremy.

Prince Charles launched a global awareness campaign for The Prince's Rainforests Project today, with a video starring school children from across the world as well as famous faces. Daniel Craig, Pele, Robin Williams, Harrison Ford, Joss Stone, Dalai Lama, Kermit the Frog and Charles's own sons, William and Harry, all add their voices to the campaign. This is the first YouTube video from Prince Charles, and his spokesman commented: "The Prince is not necessarily someone who is a regular user of the internet.

Last weekend when I was cooking at FabSugar's house, I was surprised to see a stylish, yet eco-friendly compost bin in her kitchen. Although she's not much of a big cook, she is a fan of helping the environment. Fab's commitment to green living has inspired me to start composting.
