Grey's Anatomy Rundown, "Holidaze"

As evidenced in my holiday TV sneak peek, this week's episode of Grey's Anatomy puts the doctors on a fast track that starts on Thanksgiving eve and runs through New Year's Eve. As we all know by now, the Seattle Grace surgeons aren't always big on merriment, but the holidays are always the perfect time to bring out the truth in feelings and relationships.

Meredith bonds with the Chief while Mark learns that he has a teenage daughter. Bailey has a confrontation with her father and Teddy and Owen's sexual tension comes to a head. To read all about it, just read more.

As the episode opens, the Chief is trying to justify his drinking to Meredith - explaining that his alcoholism was "misdiagnosed" and that he was actually suffering from situational depression. (Um, right.) It's unclear whether Mere takes his word for it because she believes him or feels like she has to, but she accepts his mentorship. Later she bites off Thatcher's head when he suggests that the Chief shouldn't be drinking, and by NYE realizes that he does have a problem, but continues to keep it a secret. There is one good thing that comes from it: Derek and the Chief finally make amends after duking it out all season.
Bailey does her best to avoid acknowledging the holidays because she's afraid to tell her parents about her divorce. Instead, she gladly dives into work - until her father makes a surprise visit on Christmas Eve. After watching Miranda perform surgery, he delivers a way harsh speech about being ashamed of her decision to "break" her family and put work first. At Christmas dinner (with the whole Seattle Grace crew, no less), Miranda finally puts her foot down and tells her dad that she's not willing to settle for a bad relationship. Did anyone else want to slow clap, at this point? Because I did.
Mark gets a blast from the past when a buxom blonde appears at the hospital claiming to be his daughter. (I kind of love that her name is Sloan). Mark isn't exactly thrilled with feeling old, joking that "death has come to call." Lexie is also troubled by the news at first, and I couldn't blame her for slicing her finger when Mark drops the bomb that Sloan is moving in. Two months later, he hasn't made any progress, and it's clear that his daughter isn't exactly a cup of tea. Just when Mark finally gets the nerve to kick her out, Sloan reveals that she's pregnant with a baby of her own. Instead of contemplating his potential grandpa status (talk about feeling old), Mark's paternal instincts kick into gear with impeccable timing and he comforts her. Sidenote: I find it interesting that Mark handles the situation exactly how Quinn wished her parents had on Glee this week - stroking her hair, assuring her that everything would be okay.
Teddy is already coming between Cristina and Owen's relationship, even if just with pages. Still loving her new cardio god, Cristina is happy to be Teddy's bitch (as Alex calls her) and work as a team - until she catches Owen giving Teddy meaningful glances. Owen confronts Teddy and reveals that he had feelings with her when they were overseas together, and in turn Teddy confesses that she's always been in love with him. They are literally this close to kissing, but Owen says he loves Cristina and runs to her instead. Despite their passionate makeout sesh at the end of the episode, I still have an ominous feeling about Cristina's kiss with Avery (who is still giving her flack about her relationship with Owen).

Get Marissa Miller's Victoria's Secret Makeup Look

Wowza! I've been checking out the photos from the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that took place in New York City last night and they are smoking h-o-t! The Angels are scantily clad in custom lingerie, dripping in accessories and have added five or so inch heels to their already lengthy legs.

But instead of feeling insecure, I just embrace their beauty and focus on their amazing hair (yes, they're all wearing extensions) and their dewy and sparkly-looking pink makeup.

To recreate this look at home, begin with a clean, hydrated and well moisutrised face. Then, apply a primer, followed by concealer to any red areas or spots, and medium-coverage foundation to the face, neck and decolletage. Next, dust a translucent setting powder all over and buff it to a natural finish by using a clean and fluffy brush.

CHEEKS: Although your skin is matte and prepped, all that you've created is a flawless canvas - and now it's time to have some fun! Add a liquid luminzer all over the face and blend into the foundation with a sponge for a dewy look. Next, apply a medium perky-pink blusher to the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards and upwards toward your cheekbones.
EYES: Start by sweeping a pale and creamy champage shadow from the bottom of the lid all the way up to the brows (which by the way must be filled in and perfectly shaped). Then, using a windshield-wiping motion, apply a taupey-grey coloured shadow in the crease for depth and a slightly smoky look. Over the grey, add a touch of pink shadow and blend well. Curl your lashes and apply a powder liner to the upper and lower rims of your eyes. Lastly tack on a full set of false lashes followed by two coats of black mascara.
LIPS: The goal for this lip look is full, glossy and most of all...kissable! The colour should fall somewhere between a pale pink and a medium rose lipstick topped with oodles of shimmery and sheer pink gloss.

How To Get Drew Barrymore's Bardot-Inspired Hair

At last night's Los Angeles premiere of Grey Gardens, actress Drew Barrymore walked the red carpet with her hair styled in sexy, wild Brigitte Bardot-inspired waves. She had in a faux-piece to create volume and length, and wore winged eyeliner, retro pink lipstick and a St. Tropez-esque boho chic Alberta Ferreti dress to complete the siren of the 60's look.

STEP 1: Wash and condition hair and apply a palmful of styling mousse to the lengths of the hair. Next, spritz in a generous amount of volumizer (with hold) such as Lanza Volume Root to the roots, and blow dry straight. Once hair is dry, set hair in rollers to create even more volume.
STEP 2: After leaving the rollers in for about 20 minutes (this is a great time to start on your makeup), gently take them out. Then shake your head upside down to loosen the curls and flip hair back up. At this time, carefully clip the crown of your hair together and secure your hairpiece or your extensions.
STEP 3: Now the fun begins! Using a soft brush, or a comb, tease the crown of your hair. Also, since we're going for mega volume, include a few pieces from the sides too.
STEP 4: Once you've teased your heart out, hold hair up in sections, spray your newly teased roots and hold until the spray dries (just a few seconds). Repeat until you're finished. Lastly, take a brush, and ever so gently, smooth hair back. Finish by finger coming the curls and mist your entire head with hairspray.

Gossip Girl Gang Gather For American Eagle Event

A handful of those Gossip Girl cast were out at an American Eagle event in New York's Times Square last night. Leighton Meester was wearing a daring dress and some striking makeup - what do you think? - and she hung out with Michelle Trachtenberg who showed off her flawless pale skin with her hair pulled back! Jessica Szhor looked great in grey, and Leighton's man Sebastian Stan wore a scarf to ward off the chilly weather - perhaps he gave it to Leighton later in the evening! Other guests included Pete Wentz and Adrian Grenier.

Love It or Hate It? Kristen's New Moon Curls

Last night at the New Moon premiere in Los Angeles, leading lady Kristen Stewart wowed the red carpet in a long, purplish-grey, strapless Oscara de la Renta gown whilst her hair was styled half up, half down and wavy, an unusual look for the typically straight haired actress. How-To: Get Bar Refaeli's Sexy MTV EMA's Makeup

I asked, and you voted that Bar Refaeli was last night's red carpet beauty queen.

Personally, I was kvelling over her wavy hair, but when I looked a little closer, I noticed her awesome shimmering blue- green eyeliner that was enhanced with a hint of gold in the inner v of her eyes.

Paired with a creamy pink pout and tanned, flushed cheeks, Bar's makeup was aces. Her face was polished, young and fresh looking and that hint of metallic eyeliner gave her a current edge.

Achieving her look is fairly straightforward, and with the help of a little bronzer and the right brushes, I know that all of you beauty junkies can handle this one. However, for details on how to create that perfect finishing touch on her eyes, I'll lend a hand with a few helpful hints. To find out what they are, just read more.

Step 1: Begin by filling in your brows. Then curl your lashes and apply a pale pink shadow all over your lid and blending a matte brown, grey or plum shade in the crease.
Step 2: Next, apply black powder liner just above your lash line on the top and below your lash line on the bottom. Once you are done, dab a smidgen of gold shimmery shadow to the inner corners of your eyes.
Step 3: Finish by lining the inner rims of your eyes with a blue-green coloured metallic liner. That wasn't so difficult, was it?

Love It or Hate It? Nicole Kidman's Chic Beauty

At Elle's 15th Annual Women in Hollywood event last night, a glowing Nicole Kidman rubbed shoulders with a host of stars, including Kate Beckinsale, Halle Berry, Eva Mendes and Anne Hathaway.

Nicole looked incredibly fresh faced, with perfect skin and just a hint of pink blush. Her eye makeup was dramatic, with dark black kohl on the upper lashes and a smudgy, lime green colour just below her eyes. This somewhat bizarre combination actually looked stunning thanks, I'm sure, to her expert makeup artist.

Nicole's dark rose lip colour bought out the flush in her cheeks and she wore her hair poker straight. I'm not sure about the different shades of blonde in her hair though, and is that a hint of grey I can detect near her roots?

Love It or Hate It? Pink's Silver Hair

Never one who likes to be upstaged; Pink has been showing off her newly-dyed silver hair in London this week.

After Kate Moss opted for pink streaks in her blonde locks and Geri Halliwell has gone over to the dark side with a new brunette do, it seemed that Pink just couldn't resist the new trend for playing with colour. She's co-ordinated her space age silver crop with a simple grey outfit and lots of dark eyeliner.

London and Rome Host Film Stars Including Honest George

Several actors walked the red carpet this weekend at the London Film Festival and Rome Film Festival. Nicholas Hoult, Tom Ford, Colin Firth and Matthew Goode looked handsome in their suits at the premiere for A Single Man in London, and the capital also saw the premiere of Viggo Mortensen's The Road. Helen Mirren was in Rome for the The Last Station, and Terry Gilliam and Lily Cole were also in Italy for The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus premiere. Director Jason Reitman was in London for the premiere of Up in the Air on Sunday, having joined George Clooney and Elisabetta Canalis for the Rome premiere the night before! As part of his promotion for his films, George has opened up about his relationships and growing old:

On relationships: "I’ve had some absolutely great relationships and some not so great relationships. I’ve been in some relationships where I’ve felt terribly alone. Just because you’re with someone it doesn’t mean you’re incredibly happy and complete. I’ve had some easy and natural, made-sense breakups as well as some rough ones. I deal with them the same way we all do: I’m successful with some and not so successful with others."
On getting older: "I’m kind of comfortable with getting older because it’s better than the other option, which is being dead. So I’ll take getting older. It’s an interesting thing to be able to watch yourself grow older on screen. I was watching Up In The Air and I thought, ‘Jesus, who’s the old, grey-haired guy?’ And it was me."

George also revealed he played a prank on Matt Damon to make his pal think he was gaining weight, and is working on a prank for his next victim Brad Pitt!
