When it comes to working out, I keep an eclectic mix going. Spinning, I like running and swimming by myself, but group classes like yoga, Pilates, and kickboxing are also some of my faves. Exercising in a group generally makes me work harder, especially when the energy of the class is high and the instructor is motivating.

Even if kickboxing or step aerobics aren't your ideal fitness experience, working out in a group can buoy your spirits and help motivate you to push yourself. That being said, occasionally there's a sub standing in for your favorite teacher and you just can't hack it. Or you try a new class, realize you're in over your head, and fear injury if you finish.

Exercising alone can be lonely, but it may actually feel more painful. New research found that when training together members of the Oxford crew team had higher pain thresholds. Misery loves company, even in the fitness world!

leeluvfashion may look feminine up top, but down under, she's tough as nails. I love how she paired a colorful tee and cardi with a pair of chunky military-inspired boots. Her hard and soft elements create a harmoniously fun 'fit.
