Gwyneth Paltrow was up early in London yesterday for another day of bringing Apple and Moses to school. The family spent their Summer in California as Gwyneth finished work on Iron Man 2, but now they're busy getting back to their English roots and routine despite some drama with dad Chris Martin. Moses didn't bring his special furry friend along to class today, but he seemed to be having a ball skipping down the street with his sister for company.

Smarter Eats: Gwyneth Reminds Us to Get a Healthy Dose of D

Gwyneth Paltrow's dishing out some healthy advice on GOOP this week - get your daily dose of vitamin D. The super-fit star points to Dr. Frank Lipman's healthy tips for getting our fair share of the vital D, who reminds us that, especially this time of year -when we head into the colder season and see less sunlight - it's even more important to supplement our diets with the vitamin, and avoid a vitamin D deficiency.

If you're wondering why it's so important, just remember that vitamin D was first recognized for its importance in maintaining healthy calcium levels for our bones. According to Dr. Lipman, it's now becoming increasingly apparent that we've underestimated the value of the vitamin, and a lack of it has been associated with obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, and breast cancer - to name a few.

Since we rely on the sun to generate the most reliable way of getting vitamin D, it's a good idea to up your intake of foods that can naturally deliver the goods - try fortified milk in your cereal, dried shitake mushrooms with your stir fry or salad, and wild fatty fish, like salmon and halibut. Just be aware that only 10 percent of your vitamin D intake can come from food, so to really eat smarter and healthier, it might just be a good idea to supplement with the active form of the vitamin, D3. Be sure to read all of Dr. Lipman's great tips, and until we see some sunlight this Spring, make sure you're getting your daily dose with fortified foods.

Gwyneth Brings Moses and His Furry Friend to School

Gwyneth Paltrow joined a friend for a walk in London yesterday, and this morning she was out with her son Moses. He brought along his stuffed animal, as they headed off on their latest school run. Gwyneth tends to settle down during the months that her children are busy with class, but she might be switching up that routine with her new role opposite Nicole Kidman.

She's just signed on to replace Charlize Theron in The Danish Girl, in which she'll star as the wife of Nicole Kidman's transsexual character.

About a year ago Nicole Kidman signed on to play a transsexual in The Danish Girl, and now Gwyneth Paltrow has signed on to play her (his?) wife. Taking over a role originally slated for Charlize Theron, Paltrow will play Greta, an artist in 1920s Copenhagen who encourages her husband (Kidman) to pose as a female model - but has mixed feelings about the matter when her husband decides to undergo a sex change operation.

This is the second recent project that Charlize has dropped out of only to make room for another big star (the first is The Tourist), but do you think Gwyneth will be a better fit for the role?

Gwyneth Carries on With Apple and Moses Despite Chris Rumors

Apple and Moses were wearing their plaid uniforms as they chatted animatedly with their mom. His reps have already denied the story, though this isn't the first time that trouble has been reported for Chris and Gwyneth.

Gwyneth Paltrow flashed a little smile on her way out of a Valentino event in NYC on Tuesday night. She and her designer pal hosted their latest party together, this time celebrating the DVD release of Valentino: the Last Emperor and selling copies to benefit charity. The disc is apparently making its way to the Paltrow-Martin family collection, as she opened up about her taste in films at the bash. Showing a pleasantly surprising amount of humor, Gwyneth said, "Oh we love movies at our house, and we get everything. Everything! Every children’s movie, every documentary, every drama, every indie, every porn - just kidding about the porn!"

Have You Ever Done a Cleanse?

I was asked recently if I've ever detoxed like Gwyneth Paltrow does. Personally, I've never committed myself to a rigid master cleanse or detox diet for a prescribed amount of time, but I've definitely made adjustments to my diet.

After an unusually indulgent holiday season spent away from home, I cut out alcohol and sugar for a month and ate nothing but brown rice and steamed veggies for two days. And though I do think putting limits on sugar and alcohol are helpful, you won't see me on a restrictive meal plan like that again. It's important for me to have a balanced diet that also consists of dairy, fruit, and lean protein, and most cleanses don't allow for that.

I have a few friends that cleanse at least four times a year and they swear it does wonders for them. What about you - have you ever cleansed?

Lily and Gwyneth Go For Bare Faced Chic at Art Fair

Lily Allen went for the natural look at the Frieze Art Fair in London yesterday, showing off her glowing skin without any makeup on as she took in the art on display. Also attending - and possibly looking to add a few pieces to her collection - was Gwyneth Paltrow, who similarly shunned the foundation and was beautifully bare faced. Gwyneth's buddy Stella McCartney accompanied her to the art show, wearing some huge shades that she kept on indoors, as did Razorlight's Johnny Borrell. Looks like the natural look is back!
