Yoga ball, exercise ball, gym ball, fitness ball — whatever you call it, it's a must have for all active people. An exercise ball can be used for both stretching and toning exercises, but if you're new to this piece of gym equipment, here are some things you should know.
When choosing an exercise ball, you should know they come in three sizes, depending on your height.

I always see the most interesting gym accessories and one of the most interesting finds that I've recently come across is a Massage Gym Ball ($8.99).
Basically it is just like any other stability/exercise ball, except that it’s covered in little nubs -- My guess is that some people use it to get a mini-massage while doing their exercises on the ball. While I am all for multitasking, I have yet to find the need for this in my own home gym, but I find them interesting to use at the gym.

I am always telling you guys about great and new gadgets (useful and not) for working out at home. If you're looking to start your own home gym here is what you may want to include. The starred items are essentials, whereas the others are just bonuses but great if you have an entire room (and budget) dedicated to a gym.

I just came across the BodyBolster. It's a foam roller, gym ball, and Pilates reformer all rolled into one.
It can be used with your exercise routine, to rehabilitate injuries, or for workplace health.

Plank is one of my favorite exercises because it really targets your upper body and core. Plus there are so many challenging variations such as plank jumping jacks and walking elbow plank, so you mix up your routine and never get bored. Here's another variation that will really work your lower abs, so grab an exercise ball and give it a try.

Dear Fit,
I tried out a new strength training class at my gym, and it was awesome. It uses dumbbells, resistance bands, gym balls, and mat exercises to tone your whole body. There were definitely a lot of new moves I'd never done before, and during one of the exercises, where you're balancing on your bum in a V-position, and lowering your torso and legs toward the floor, I was shaking uncontrollably.
