Rihanna took a risk, or two, at the Kids' Choice Awards in a polka-dot H&M bustier and scrunched Stella McCartney jeans. Her hot pink lipstick and studded cuff completes her punk vibe - a definite style icon in the making. Do you concur?

Stella McCartney's first ever childrenswear collection landed in Gap stores across the globe earlier this month and has already been so successful that they've snapped her up for another.

The British designer who had previously had a sell-out womenswear collaboration with H&M, created on trend yet practical items for kids which adults wanted for themselves. The best selling item from the line was a military jacket for boys.

Stella will now go on to create another line for Gap Kids and Gap Baby for the Spring which will be available from March 2010. I can't wait to see what she designs, are you glad Stella is doing another collection for Gap?

This past Spring, the swine flu scare broke out, and, although it seems to have lost momentum, many folks are still nervous about getting the H1N1 virus. Children, healthcare workers, those who work closely with kids, and pregnant women are the ones who are most at risk, but anyone can develop swine flu. With colder weather on its way and flu season soon to follow, I'm wondering . . .

On Our Radar: Stella McCartney Designs Childrenwear

Stella McCartney was one of the first designers to collaborate with the High Street when she launched her H&M line in 2005. Now the designer is doing it again as she prepares to create her first ever childrenswear collection for Gap. She usually only produces womenswear for her label, but with a growing brood of her own (she has three children with husband Alasdhair Willis) it's not surprising that she's decided to broaden her horizons.

She commented, "For years now I’ve wanted to create a collection for kids... I believe that this one-off collaboration will be a great way for customers to be able to participate in the Stella McCartney brand."

The pieces are due to hit stores in November and she has implied that the credit crunch has been a key factor in this plan, "I believe that kids clothing should be more accessibly priced, which is particularly important at the moment given the current climate." Seems there will be a lot of stylish kids around this Winter!
