A few years ago, I asked you how often you get your hair cut. The majority of you said that you go every few months, which was also the same response to how frequently you get highlights. When you add up all of the appointments you book with your hairstylist and colorist throughout the year, what does your magic number turn out to be?

Now, think about how many medical appointments you book throughout the year, from your primary physician to your dentist to your dermatologist. After all the math is done, where do you fall in the world of appointments? Are you more of a salon-goer, do you head to your various doctors with more frequency, or is it a little of both?

Would You Let Someone Take Over Your Business?

Every week on Tabatha's Salon Takeover, hairstylist extraordinaire Tabatha Coffey takes control of a flailing salon and whips it into shape. Although I'm an avid viewer, I'm not quite so sure how I would react to real-life Tabatha in my work space - taking total control of my company's policies and the people I work with.

Some of the highlights include a full-out interior design makeover of the salon studio, and a complete revamping of lackadaisical company policies. Frustrated employees get to voice their opinion on their boss's behavior, and likewise, bosses are asked to carefully re-evaluate employees whose bad attitudes might be jeopardizing company teamwork. At the end of day, Tabatha makes a series of recommendations and advises the business owner on employees whose positions need shifting, or those who should be let go.

The benefits of having an expert like Tabatha put your business on track are clear, but having an outsider manage your business - especially if she has Tabatha's strong personality - could be a major deterrent from this kind of business makeover. So, tell me, would you be willing to let someone take over your office to put a savvy business plan in place? Or would you be skeptical of any outsider, even an expert, changing things around?

Kate Moss Is Taking Care of Her Own Hair For the Time Being

Kate Moss broke out her old Vivienne Westwood pirate boots for dinner at Nobu in London last night with Jamie Hince and Amber Valletta. It was her second recent night out in the same fur jacket, though Kate kept things otherwise casual in her tank and jeans. Amber and Kate have known each other for many years, and with Amber's first clothing line, Amber Valletta For Monrow, launching next week, Kate can probably give her some great model-turned-designer advice. One friend of Kate's who might be around a little less often is her former BFF James Brown - she's apparently decided to stop seeing him as a hairstylist after getting pissed about how much airtime she got on his Supermodel Salon TV show.

Pretty Punk at Jenny Packham

At the Jenny Packham show artfully folded tulle and delicately ruffled chiffon was encrusted with multi-coloured crystals for a show-stopping effect. The colours ranged from bright fuschia to orange, lilac, cerise and dusky pink. Whilst Packham's collections are always on the wearable side of glamour, there was a definite hint of 80's debutante in the short, fitted shapes and bright makeup.

Catwalk hairstylist Samantha Hillerby created the hair looks for the show. Her inspiration was "young, fresh and modern. The clothes are evening wear but we wanted the girls to still look cool." Samantha aimed to give the hair a styled-at-home edge by not making it too formal or fussy. She added, "I wanted to introduce a suggestion of 80's and a bit of punk, but still keep it chic and classic."

Samantha crimped the models' hair to give that 80's feel and to accentuate the texture. The aim was for an up do that looked part-debutante, part-punk.
Next, the hair was wrapped up into an easy chignon. Samantha suggests "It should look like you've just done it yourself. Nothing too perfect. I wanted to avoid the girls' looking too done."
For an easy chignon, start from the base and twist hair up. Do it quickly and effortlessly "as if you were just holding back your hair to wash your face" recommends Samantha.
Simply pin the chignon into place for a classic silhouette. Leave any flyaways and just spray with a hairspray to hold the style.

The Hairstylist is the New B.F

We couldn't agree more with the executive editor of In Style magazine, Martha McCully. She was quoted in the Sunday Style section as saying the "The hairstylist is the new B.F." Just checking out Jessica Simpson with her hairstylist every day has shown that this is the man she wants by her side at all times. She is not only aware that her every move is being photographed ad it's great to have Ken around to touch her up, but he has also created a special bond with Jess beyond being someone on her payroll.

This is nothing new. Remember when Jennifer Aniston was scene with her man Chris? It's got something to do with them being sort of a therapist listening to your problems and sharing in your joys, as well as making you feel beautiful. That combination just makes for a new BFF in the celebrity world when finding someone you can trust may be hard. I love that this topic has become so popular that even the Sunday times has an article about it.

Who's Your Favorite Celebrity Hairstylist?

Celebrities spend so much time in the hair and makeup chair that they become super-duper close to their clientele. Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox pal around together with friend and hairstylist Chris McMillan often, and Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves are best friends! I'm not that close to my hairdresser, but I do love him.
