Halle Berry joined a friend for a walk in NYC yesterday afternoon - get her look here. Later on, she was dressed up to hit the red carpet at the Evening of Awareness benefit. The event was held to raise funds for the Trevor Project and the Jenesse Center, which is a shelter for abused women near to Halle's heart and that she recently opened up about in interviews. Halle has been focused on her philanthropic activities lately, but she might be heading back to the big screen soon in a long-rumored project.

Halle Speaks Up About Her Effort to Stop Domestic Violence

Halle Berry flashed a smile as she ran errands in LA yesterday, but this evening we'll see her more serious side on the NBC Nightly News. In the segment, Halle shared her own experience with domestic violence while talking about her work with the Jenesse Center in LA, saying, "My mother was a battered woman and that was my childhood for a good chunk of it...Early on in my life, I made choices, and I chose men that were abusive because that was what I knew growing up." Halle has come a long way in speaking out about her own difficult past and recently finding happiness with Gabriel and Nahla. Next month, Halle will be honored for her work in the industry at the Hollywood Reporter's Power 100: Women in Entertainment breakfast where's she will receive the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.

Halle had only just arrived in California a few days before, after spending time in NYC with Gabriel and Nahla. Following her charitable afternoon out, Halle was spotted having a date night with Gabriel at the movies. Nicole, meanwhile, hit the carpet without her own babies, Harlow and Sparrow. The multitasking mom just added another project to her already busy schedule, expanding her House of Harlow with a new jewelry line for bebe.

Halle Berry toted her luggage while Gabriel carried Nahla through LAX yesterday. Halle and her family were in NYC last week on business, working straight through the Halloween holiday. Gabriel is one of the sexiest guys on the runways, and he is rumored to have just landed the job as the new face of Louis Vuitton. He has the most catwalk experience, but the trio all look pretty model perfect together in coordinated gray wardrobes at the airport.

Halle Berry is the kind of woman you'd be jealous of, except she seems like a smart, down-to-earth lady who you could be friends with. She's one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood, she seems thrilled to be a mom to baby Nahla, and she's in love. It's safe to say that for her, life smells pretty sweet right now . . . which is just the kind of corny pun I'll use to tell you about Halle's new fragrance endeavor.

Launching next week, Halle by Halle Berry ($17–$35 for EDP) is a woody, oriental scent. The top notes are Sicilian bergamot, fig leaves, and pear blossom layered over heart notes of freesia petals, hibiscus flower, and ultra mimosa. A dry-down of sandalwood, driftwood, cashmere musk, olibanum sbsolute, and sensual amber add a more sensual tone. Along with eaux de parfum sizes, the scent will be available as a body lotion. If it succeeds in making me feel half as beautiful as Halle is, I'll consider it a huge success.

Halle Berry spent her weekend in NYC with Gabriel and Nahla. She had to take care of some solo business on Friday, leaving Gabriel and Nahla to shop by themselves in Soho. The weather hasn't turned too cold just yet, but little Nahla looked ready for chillier temperatures in her hat and oversized coat. We usually see the trio doing their thing while out and about in LA, but the Aubry-Berrys look just as at home together on the East Coast.

Halle Berry Is a Mixmaster of Fragrance

When I told you about the Halle Berry scent, you expected something sweet and floral. Well, today comes more news about the forthcoming fragrance, Halle by Halle Berry, due out in March. The scent, a woody oriental, and the bottle, meant to evoke the beach, were two years in the making. Berry tells WWD, "[Before my fragrance] I was mixing other brands that shall remain nameless to make my own scent with fig and mimosa,” she said. “With Halle, I added olibanum, which is an African root, which brings spice to the fragrance, and sandalwood, which smooths everything out and makes it yummy. It’s very sensual, very natural, very much reflective of the outdoors.”

Whether it's Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely or Paris Hilton's latest, celebrity fragrances are big business. generating a ton of cash both for the celebrity and the beauty company they work with. It's estimated that in 2006, worldwide sales of the top seven celebrity perfumes hit over $353 million dollars. Did you contribute to that number?

Ben and Jon Chat on Set While Jennifer and the Girls Stroll

Ben Affleck was behind the camera yesterday to film The Town in Boston. He was joined on set by costars Jon Hamm and Rebecca Hall, who were a few stories up filming behind a window. Ben didn't have Jennifer, Violet, and Seraphina around this time to keep him company, but it looks like he was busy taking charge of things from the director's seat. The girls were off having fun times of their own with a stroll through the city that's fast becoming home.
