In addition to plenty of other treasures, French model and designer Ines de la Fressange used a handbag and a single boot as decorative accessories to dress up a chest of drawers in her office in Paris. Seeing as the items are works of art in their own right, and her other furnishings are downright glamorous as well, I think she's pulled it off. But just any old shoe wouldn't do. I know it's only November, but it's never too early to start planning your Christmas gifts. Buying for Grandparents can be tricky, but I'm here to give you some tips and ideas for surprising your gorgeous Grandma.

Accessories make great gifts and you'll probably find that your Grandma wears more than you think. I think that a Radley handbag (£150) is a timeless piece that she'll love and use time and time again. The cute Scotty dog tag adds a quirky edge although it can easily be removed to suit taste.

Behind the Seams: Designed By Mulberry...Made For Apple

On Our Radar: Rebecca Taylor Launches Accessories

Amongst the bevy of cute animal prints and flowy fabrics in Rebecca Taylor's Spring collection were some amazing handbags, shoes, and jewels. These confections were actually from her newly launched accessories line, debuting in stores come Spring.

“It’s something that we’ve been wanting to do for a long time,” said Taylor. “Every woman loves shoes and handbags. We didn’t want to start it unless it was in a very meaningful way.”

Taylor's collection, priced from $300 to $400 for footwear and $150 to $300 for jewelry, will encompass the designer's pretty-meets-urban style. Boots and flats have a funky edge, while bags and jewels are embellished with crystals and sequins such as the handbag seen here.

The collection will be sold at select online retailers and Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

Steve Madden Makes Shoes and Bags For Olsenboye

Steve Madden collaborated on the Elizabeth and James footwear collection, so it's no surprise the brand has teamed up with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's new venture, Olsenboye. The shoe company is set to produce a collection of footwear and accessories that include suede flats, canvas sneakers, slouchy plaid handbags, and small bucket bags. Starting this Friday, Nov. 6, you can get your Olsenboye on at jcp.com and in 50 JCPennney stores. Look out for a full launch for Spring.

Fab Flash: Nina Ricci Delves Into Accessories

“When the economy changes, it’s not like you want to start eating bad-tasting chocolate,” said Nina Ricci, creative director at Olivier Theyskens. “You have to stay true to what you’re doing, and the house of Nina is about luxury.” That said, Theyskens continues to plunge forward with an expanded accessories collection, which includes a newly unveiled handbag collection and expanded footwear collection.

The handbag collection, ranging from $1,800 to $2,500, consists of hobos, shoulder bags, totes, and clutches made in luxurious leathers and textures, like the ones seen above. “We’ve had a propensity toward so much flash the last few years,” said Theyskens, “and I wanted to make something classic with simple hardware. For shoes, Theyskens designed platform pumps and booties adorned with unexpected details. Both collections will be available come Spring.
