Heidi and Mike Celebrate Project Runway and Shoe Swapping

After taking home a Peabody award yesterday for Project Runway, Heidi Klum gathered some of the show's alums and Mike Myers to celebrate. The hilarious group hammed it up for the cameras after Heidi slipped out of her glamorous white dress and into something more comfortable. Mike who is in promotional mode for The Love Guru was happy to tag along with familiar faces like Austin Scarlett, Christian Siriano, and more. Kinda great that Heidi and Mike have the same size feet and switched shoes for a minute - he can so rock the Loubs. This is just getting me more excited for the return of Project Runway on July 16. Maybe then Heidi can clear up the mystery of her new arm ink that looks to be her husband Seal's name?

Do You Like the Heavy Celeb Presence on Project Runway?

It was to be expected that when Project Runway moved to Los Angeles, the show would feature more celebrities. Heidi Klum once said that Hollywood has had a major influence on the world of fashion. We're three episodes in, and there have been three celebrity guest judges: Lindsay Lohan served as guest judge on the first episode, Rebecca Romijn was the subject of the episode two's maternity challenge, and last night, Rachel Bilson gave her two cents on the surf-wear challenge. PR has had celebrity guest judges in the past, but now it's become a regular component of the show. So I want to know, do you like the heavy celeb presence on PR?

Did Project Runway Thrill You Last Night?

I'll be honest, I was nervous about Project Runway's new home, Lifetime, and new location, Los Angeles. But after watching last night, I'm hooked again. The first challenge was to create a red-carpet gown - fitting seeing as how they're in Hollywood. Lindsay Lohan served as guest judge, along with constants Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, and Michael Kors. As for the designers, as usual, some are exceptional, some are so not, and the rest are in between. So far, Ra'mon, Johnny, and Christopher have shown promise, the latter taking the crown last night. Did you tune in? What did you think?

A Few Fab Words With Heidi Klum(!)

Heidi Klum. Where to begin? From the beginning, I suppose. German born Klum is no longer just a model. She is a model, actress, TV presenter, fashion designer, television producer, singer, wife and mother. No wonder Klum continues to inspire so many. She started as a model and Victoria's Secret model - that body, that face - and worked her way into our hearts hosting Project Runway and embarked on fashion projects along the way, i.e., her jewelry line and collaborating with Jordache.

Now married to Seal and the mother of three, Heidi always has a smile on her face. That is what inspires me. She is hardworking, doesn't take things for granted and seems to be a very happy person. And so, we are so excited we got an exclusive interview with the multi-tasking model! Be sure to also read her beauty interview with Bella.

Can you describe your personal style and how it has evolved over the years?

I have always had a very unique sense of style. I love bright colors and bold prints that make a statement. When I was young I was all about be-dazzling! I would be-dazzle everything from jean jackets to bags. That love for glitz and glam has stayed with me over the years but has matured. In my everyday life comfort is very important. I love throwing on a classic pair of jeans with a cozy tank and flip flops, especially when running around with the kids.

Tell us about the creative process for creating your jewelry line.

I don’t have a formal technique for designing jewelry, I just let myself become inspired by everything around me - vintage designs, trips, etc. The jewelry also reflects my personal style and the pieces I love to wear.

You have a lot of fashion projects at the moment: jewelry, sunglasses, fragrance and Birkenstocks. Is there one that particularly satisfies you the most? If so, why?

I have always been a very creative person and love having a channel to express my ideas whether it is designing products for a label or just painting with my children. I don’t have a favorite project but my jewelry line is definitely the most extensive. I have a very high end collection that I design with Mouawad, a silver collection for QVC, and a Top Model and Project Runway collection based on pieces I have worn in the shows. I also just started selling on Skymall (a guilty traveling pleasure of mine).

Is there a Heidi Klum clothing line in the future?

I just created a 15-piece capsule collection for Jordache. It was inspired by some of my favorite pieces from my closet. I wanted all the designs to be comfortable mixed with a bit of sexiness.

What new and exciting things can we expect on the next season of Project Runway?

Project Runway is always a surprise. You never know what is going to happen next and that is what keeps the show fresh and interesting. Last year was a great season so we are definitely continuing to push the envelope with design challenges. You’ll just have to wait and tune in!

Does Heidi Klum's Decision to Discontinue Clover QVC Jewelry Line Admit Guilt?

Heidi Klum doesn't seem like the type to back down from a fight, so it was news to us when we heard the Project Runway host discontinued her QVC jewelry line after being hit with a lawsuit from Van Cleef & Arpels accusing her of copying their trademark clover design. "They wanted to have the clover, even though our designs never matched . . . they just wanted to own the clover motif," said Klum. "So they went after everyone who does that - Louis Vuitton! -- they said 'We own the clover . . ." Interesting. Take a look at Klum's jewels and tell me, does discontinuing her jewelry line admit guilt?

Nicole, Rachel, Heidi, and Kate Keep Feasting on Fashion

It's the final day of Fashion Week, but the front rows are still full of familiar faces. At his show last night, Zac Posen's good friend Rachel Bilson was sitting near another newly engaged star, Claire Danes. Nicole Richie was also in attendance next to Alicia Keys to watch the collection. Also showing yesterday was Christian Siriano, who already has his fair share of celebrity followers. Kate Beckinsale sported new bangs and matched Eva Mendes in black while checking out Calvin Klein. This morning, Heidi Klum brightened up the mood at the Project Runway show. Since the season is yet to start airing and no one knows who the contestants are, the three finalists' collections were shown anonymously. Heidi said, "This is [the designer's] moment and unfortunately nobody has seen the show yet. I’m a little bit sad for our designers that they don’t get that recognition today. Season 3 Project Runway -- Carry On!

For those of you who missed last week's premiere of Project Runway, here's a little wrap-up to keep you current for the water cooler...

Fifteen new contestants were chosen from across the United States to curry the the favor of the four oracles of reality TV fashion: Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors. The first challenge? To raid their posh Atlas New York apartments for every scrap of usable material and design something fabulous. Kate Spade was the guest judge this week. Keith won with a dress designed from a navy blue bedsheet. Stacey's white see-through dress ultimately got her the coveted award of "First One Booted."

But aside from the mundane details of who won/lost, here are the REALLY important highlights to know in order to catch up this week. read more

Alison - Does anyone else think she looks exactly like Jacinda from the Real World?

Vincent - For future reference, an upside-down wicker basket with hardware chains is a Fashion Don't. Let's hope his fashion instincts get better from here on out!

Fab Read: Nina Garcia's Little Black Book of Style

The season premiere of "Project Runway" may still be seven weeks away (49 days to be exact), but we've got plenty of projects to keep us satisfied. There's "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style," which we're obsessed with, and Heidi Klum's Very Sexy Makeup Collection, and now there's Nina Garcia's book The Little Black Book of Style, on sale for $13 (originally $18). This book, according to Nina, is not "A book of rules. It is a book on style." Just what you would expect from the "Project Runway" judge and ELLE fashion director.

The book itself is the LBD of fashion guides - sophisticated, elegant and timeless. It offers tips on how to: be your own muse (confidence trumps beauty), invest in wardrobe staples (ballet flats, cashmere and diamonds) and "what to wear when" (just say no to sweatsuits on planes). Overall, Nina offers very sage advice for both the savvy shopper and ensembly challenged.
