Girls Gather to Celebrate Kimberley and Sarah's Birthdays

Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding celebrated their 28th birthdays at Sarah's club Kanaloa in London this weekend, and were joined by band mates Nicola Roberts and Cheryl Cole. FabUK has the lowdown on what the girls were wearing and also wants to know: which member of Girls Aloud was best dressed? Cheryl brought hubby Ashley along (as well as her mum!) and the couple put on a united front following reports of problems in their marriage. Sugababes Amelle Berrabah, Heidi Range and Jade Ewen, Henry Conway, Kimberly Wyatt, Kris Marshall and X Factor choreographer Brian Friedman also attended. Amelle Is Absolutely Better and Back With Sugababes

Amelle Berrabah has spoken for the first time about her three-week stay in an Austrian clinic after being diagnosed with nervous exhaustion last month. She joined her band mates Heidi Range and Jade Ewen on GMTV to perform on television for the first time as a new line-up and the trio sang their single "About A Girl". Amelle told Andrew Castle she is "absolutely better" and Heidi also explained why Keisha Buchanan left the group. Here are the highlights:

Amelle on going to a clinic: "I just got to the point - it was very difficult for me and Heidi from the other line-up. Basically, I just needed to get away and just shut off and just take a new look. And - I don't know - just sort my head out basically. I feel really good, and we're just getting on with things and it's a really exciting time for us."
Heidi on Keisha's exit: "It got to a point where it wasn't working. We really did try for so long, and you know - I just think life's too short to be feeling like that - and we just couldn't make it work. I feel that myself and Amelle made the right decision morally, and our label stood by us and our management."

Amelle on a Break From Sugababes Due to Exhaustion

Heidi Range and Jade Ewen have just revealed on their MySpace blog Amelle Berrabah is taking a break from the Sugababes:

"It seems that with all the recent events in the band right up to Jade joining us a few weeks ago, the stress over a period of months has unfortunately taken its toll on Amelle and she is now suffering from a severe bout of nervous exhaustion.
For the next 3 weeks, Amelle will be staying at a private health clinic in Europe where she will be able to rest and recuperate under expert supervision. We’re expecting her to return to work in full health by the beginning of November... She has the love and support of everyone around her including family, friends, bandmates and the label and we’re sure our fans will join us in wishing her a speedy recovery."

The girls added they have cancelled their new lineup's first live performance in Leeds and a German TV show appearance, as they "really do have to treat Amelle’s welfare as our priority at times like this". To find out what Heidi and Jade each had to say, just read more.

Heidi wrote:

"Both Amelle and I have been through a very traumatic time together in recent months and particularly over the past few weeks. Having the opportunity to move forward with Jade was a major factor in us both deciding to carry on as Sugababes. And judging from the thousands of well wishes we have received from you, our fans, we are delighted that we made the right decision. However, the months leading up to that decision certainly took their toll, especially on Amelle, and it seems like it’s now all caught up with her."

Jade wrote:

"We’ve got a hectic schedule of promotional commitments ahead of us to launch our next single on 9th Nov and the album on 23rd Nov. We’re about to go into the run up to Christmas, so we’re glad that Amelle is getting the right support now to help her return to work at such a busy time."

Sugababes "About A Girl" - Spin It or Sling It?

We saw them filming in an American desert, and now the Sugababes' video for "About A Girl" has made its premiere! It's the first track that the new lineup has released, and sees new member Jade Ewen join Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah as another group of women show off their martial arts skills. The trio wear tight leather outfits as they drive and dance through the desert. Check out the video and vote below to let me know: will you spin it or sling it?

New Sugababes Lineup Speak Out About Keisha and the Future

The new lineup of the Sugababes have just appeared with Scott Mills on Radio 1 to talk about the split with Keisha, and Jade joining the band. Jade was unsurprisingly pretty quiet throughout the interview seeing as she met up with the girls last Sunday and recorded the video on Tuesday! The girls spilled a little about the split and were very positive about the future with no bad words to say about Keisha. Here's what they had to say:

Amelle: Basically, me and Heidi had got to the point -over a long time - where we couldn't try anymore, and we'd put everything into it and we'd had enough really. We couldn't do any more to help the situation out. We called it a day and Heidi supported me. But that's in the past now, Jade's here, she's a great singer. We wish Keisha all the best.
Heidi: It's been hard for everyone, it's been a hard few months, the past week's been the week from hell. Except the moment we met Jade, obviously... It was a tough time, but as Amelle said we're looking forward to the future and we've got a lot to prove as a new lineup. We're just excited to get on with it.
Jade: I'll be honest I'm not at all prepared [for the life change], I got a taste of it in LA - I was shocked that people would sit out in the sun in the desert to get a picture, obviously that's never happened to me before. Coming back to London today has been nuts, about 40 paps outside, I'm just laughing. I can't believe this, my life just changed overnight.

Amelle on her "kidnap": I just basically got to the point - I hit a wall and needed some time alone basically. I switched my phone off and didn't want to speak to anyone, if I'm completely honest. You know, it happens. No, [I wasn't kidnapped].
Heidi on Keisha: We didn't push Keisha out the group, it got to a point in LA where we sat down with our managers and said we can't do this anymore, we can't work like this and be part of this. Because life's too short and you've got to enjoy yourself. It's like any relationship, you try and make it work. I've got so much respect for the journey that we had with Keisha, and it's hard, but you've got to make a life decision where you're going to move on. I know there were reports in the papers that I tried to plan to get Keisha out of the group, but I want people to know that I know I made the right choice morally as a person, and I can live with a clear conscience that I did the right thing and so did Amelle. We're not going to start saying things, we're looking forward to the future.
On the new reworked album: H: We're going to be adding some more tracks.
J: I should be going back to the US next week to put down some of my parts, so it should be fun.
Amelle and Heidi on how they felt when they first joined the band: A: I think the thing you can't get your head around is people knowing your name, and getting followed. It's quite surreal.
H: I spent the first few months writing the album with the girls so it wasn't so dramatic.
Heidi on keeping the name "Sugababes": I think everyone's going to have their own opinion, but when I joined the band they'd been dropped by their record company. I've been part of the history for the last eight years, Amelle was part of the biggest album that we've ever had, so people might say... but I think we should continue with the name. I don't know if we'd do "Overload" because it wasn't our song, but [we'll perform] from Freak Like Me onwards...

Jade Gets to Work With the Sugababes in LA

New band member Jade Ewen wasted no time in getting to work with the Sugababes, joining Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah to film their video for new single "About a Girl" in a desert outside Los Angeles. Jade made the most of her stay in LA by going shopping afterwards with her family, changing out of her studded black costume into a floaty white skirt. Rumours are continuing to do the rounds following the changes to the group, with reports Keisha Buchanan was forced out after she gave an ultimatum to her management and record company saying "it's me or Amelle". Original member Mutya Buena defended Keisha on GMTV and spoke about the original lineup reuniting: would you like to see them reform?

Jade Ewen Joins The Sugababes After Keisha's Kicked Out!

Last night it was announced that the last original member of the Sugababes, Keisha Buchanan, is no longer with the band. She's said that it was not her decision to leave the band, but she's looking forward to the future. The Sugababes have a new album release coming up in November and new member Jade Ewen - you might remember her from Eurovision - is no doubt currently locked away recording vocals as part of the new lineup! Keisha took to her Twitter to say this:

Dear Friends, I'm sad to say that I am no longer apart of the Sugababes. I've had a great time and have achieved more then I ever thought I would. Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life. I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck.

I would like to state that there were no arguments, bullying or anything of the sort that lead to this. Sometimes a break down in communication and lack of trust can result in many different things. I would also like to point out that I have always supported the girls and they have also supported me. Remember my drunk pictures out with Amelle, supporting her on her success with Tinchy Stryder... Oh the shame... But what a fun night we had. Now I'm going to take some time to focus on me. I've been in this band for 11 years and I have achieved so much. I have a great family and friends who are behind me 100% and at the age of 24, I'm now going out into this world on my own... Although im nervous... I'm still very excited on what lies ahead.

I want to thank the Sugababes fans and my fans for all your support and all who have never judged me, but excepted me for who I am... The feisty, funny, professional, fearless, motor mouth... lol This is not the end... but the beginning!!!! Thank you always... Keisha xxx

Meanwhile the statement on the Sugababes' official website reads:

The current line-up of the Sugababes has disbanded. Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album ‘Sweet 7’ on November 23rd through Island Records. Keisha Buchanan will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist.

Sugababes' Amelle and Heidi in Quarantine With Swine Flu

Amelle Berrabah and Heidi Range of the Sugababes are in quarantine after developing symptoms of swine flu. Their bandmate Keisha Buchanan said: "I definitely don't have swine flu, but the other girls are ill with it. We've had to cancel all our events for the next week or so while the girls get better. I can't believe I know someone who has swine flu. I'm sure we'll laugh when it's over." They have cancelled their appearances at Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as their meeting with Jay-Z. Let's hope they follow Rupert Grint's lead and get well soon.
