Henry Holland is becoming one of London's hottest designers. Every season, House of Holland produces a fun, on trend line with young, hipster appeal. Last week, he unveiled his collaboration with Debenhams called H! by Henry Holland.

This weekend, Henry spoke to The Guardian about the line and his general career. Debenhams might seem like an unusual choice of collaborator for Henry (the store also has also worked with Matthew Williamson, Julien Macdonald and Jasper Conran), but he was smart with his approach. "It wasn't like I came into the interview and said, 'Let's do a full leather body sheath.' You know, I was thinking about the Debenhams customer already. There's something for anyone in there."

He is about to launch his first ever diffusion range with Debenhams called H! by Henry Holland which offers his pieces at very affordable prices. 21 Hair and Makeup Looks You WON'T Be Wearing Come Spring

From the runways onto department and drugstore shelves, I'm sure we'll see lots of fresh new makeup options and application techniques go full circle come March. Last month in New York, we saw six very wearable trends emerge, from peach lips to bold eyeliner to heavy-handed under-the-eye liners. But throughout the course of New York Fashion Week and other Spring 2010 shows, including Paris, London, and Milan, there were other looks that won't quite make the transition. Take this sequin forehead heart-shaped applique, for instance - straight from the Ungaro show in Paris, for which Lindsay Lohan acted as artistic adviser. While I appreciate each and every designer's artistic flair, some looks just won't translate to real life. See what I mean now.

Style for Style: House of Holland Tights

One of the things I admire about Henry Holland is that his collections always have a theme. He blatantly dedicates an entire range to one central point and runs wild with it. Who can forget the tartan of Autumn '08, the florals of Spring '09 or the pantone colour blocking of Autumn '09? It's the latter which has inspired this collaboration with Pretty Polly tights. It's an obvious move for House of Holland, which has previously joined forces with Levis and Kickers. When I heard about this latest venture, I couldn't wait to get my hands on a pair and they did not dissapoint!

The colour block legwear are available in a range of colours including black, blue and lilac all retailing for £10 each. They will be available from John Lewis, Debenhams and River Island from September. The lilac pair were very attention grabbing so I tried to keep everything else simple teaming them with black and grey, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy they were to dress up. I particularly loved them with denim shorts which created a cool daytime look. I think they look best with heels, but a flat ankle boot would work too.

Fab Flash: BFC Announce New Gen Sponsorship

Yesterday, the British Fashion Council announced the latest winners of the New Generation sponsorship programme. Speaking at the new London Fashion Week venue, Somerset House, the young designers were each provided financial help for showing their collections in September. The awarded names were Henry Holland of House of Holland, Mark Fast, Mary Katrantzou, Meadham Kirchhoff and Peter Pilotto.

You may not be familiar with all of these designers, but with previous beneficiers including Christopher Kane, Matthew Williamson, and Giles Deacon – these are certainly names to watch.

New Generation has been supported by Topshop since it's launch in 1993 and the current financial climate has only encouraged their backing. Mary Homer, the managing director of Topshop commented, "It's now even more imperative to create inspirational products. Customers want things that are exciting and new."

This season is building up to be an exciting one for London as Burberry, Pringle, and Matthew Williamson all return to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Joint chief executive of the British Fashion Council Caroline Rush added, "This season's talent continues to maintain the scheme's reputation for supporting London's most innovative emerging talent."

London Fashion Week A/W 2009: House of Holland

One thing I always admire about Henry Holland's designs is that he goes with a theme and sticks to it. Last season he went with a distinctly '90s theme, for Autumn '08 he went tartan and for Autumn '09 he looked no further than a pantone colour chart! The models were dressed head to toe in varying shades of one colour as texture was injected using a mix of fabrics.

This collection was Holland's most grown-up so far with boxy jackets, tailored trousers and strapless dresses. Subtle pleats, square buttons and rigid necklines highlighted his attention to detail. The show-stopper pieces was a big, black and grey fluffy jacket which is sure to be popular on the London party scene.

The show saw Agyness Deyn's only appearance at the London fashion showcase as she flew in from NY, she never lets down her best friend Henry! She attended the aftershow party with Henry too, still sporting his designs. She commented, "I wouldn't miss this for the world. Henry's shows are the first thing in my diary." Awwh!

Fab Blab: Henry Holland on M.I.A Outfit

M.I.A caused a stir at the Grammy Awards this weekend in a sheer House of Holland dress with carefully placed polka dots. Some people have expressed outrage, as M.I.A is due to give birth any day now! Henry Holland has spoken about the dress explaining that he is "amused" by the reaction it has caused. “I was a bit worried about what the patch was going to cover with the belly involved, but she wore a little skirt with it. We are going through all the blogs and looking at all the comments people put about the dress. It's quite amusing."

Henry, who attended the Elle Style Awards last night, has also spoken to The Independent today. He explained, "I wish people would take more notice of how hard I work and the fact I have fantastic business sense." Henry also revealed that he is good at gymnastics, "Believe it or not, I was a competitive gymnast until the age of thirteen and even competed in national finals." Henry will present his Autumn '09 collection at London Fashion Week in a few weeks.

London Fashion Week, Spring '09: Bring on the Quirk

New York Fashion Week ignites some trends, but it's in London where the envelope is pushed beyond the limit. Take, for example, Giles Deacon's Pac-Women. London Fashion Week is nearing completion, but there was enough quirk to last a lifetime, or at least until next season. While overexposure started in New York, the king of quirk, Henry Holland, took the concept to a whole new, playful level. Proceed with caution.

London Fashion Week, Spring 2009: House of Holland

Who would have thought, two years ago, that a man who has made his name in fashion with quirky t-shirts would now be showing his fourth collection to London Fashion Week? It's quite impressive and despite his critics suggesting he was initially a one-trick pony (which amusingly was the title of his first catwalk show), Holland has managed to tap in to key trends each season which are regularly spotted on his celebrity fans.

This season the front row was like a who's who of the London party scene including Alexa Chung, Kimberly Stewart and Alice Dellal. Obviously his best friend and muse Agyness Deyn appeared on the catwalk showcasing his latest designs.

This season House of Holland was '90s crazy with plenty of flower power, polka dots and stone washed denim (part of his collaboration with Levi's). Cheeky dresses with sexual undertones were sent down the catwalk combining sheer and carefully placed dots.

Holland is aware that as Beverly Hills 90210 returns to our screens we all go crazy for '90s nostalgia, not simply for that show but also for Blossom and Clarissa Explains It All. Therefore think big sheer floral shirts and jackets. There were also a few seemingly innocent yet quite naughty ensembles as Holland got a bit Gaultier on us.
