Precious begins rolling out in theaters this Friday, and we'll finally see if it lives up to its Oscar hype. One performance that the Academy will definitely be talking about comes from newcomer Gabby Sidibe, who carries the film as the title character.
Playing an abused, pregnant teen is the sort of responsibility and heavy subject matter that could make even pros crack under pressure — so how is she coping with her big screen debut?

We got a peek at Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's romantic spread in Harper's Bazaar yesterday — ICYMI, check out the amazing outtakes of Rob and Kristen here — and now the full interview is out along with a few new photos. The duo is currently apart promoting New Moon on opposite ends of the globe, with Rob most recently in Japan and Kristen in Mexico with Taylor Lautner. In this interview, though, they were very much in the same place as they discussed romance, relationships, and compared each other in a variety of ways — there's also a video from the shoot after the jump.

I've been lucky to have boyfriends who didn't just love talking like I do, but who were good listeners, too. Maybe they were in the minority, or maybe they worked hard to overcome what many scientists say is a male brain hardwired to keep conversation short and informational.
Compared to women's brains, researchers conclude that men's brains not only have fewer verbal centers, but their brains produce less serotonin and oxytocin.

I love the way a biopic makes me feel — like I'm treated to a back-in-time look at an amazing life. They're epic, and that's why I'm willing to sit through the slow moments (and often for more than two hours) for the payoff. This is the experience I hoped for from Amelia, directed by Mira Nair and starring Hilary Swank as the pioneering aviator who was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.

Tuesday night's soapy dramas packed several surprises into this week's episodes — 90210 introduces a whole new character to love (or hate) and Sasha drops a bomb on Dixon; while over on Melrose, Riley and Jonah's seemingly perfect relationship is quickly unraveling. But the biggest surprise of all? Ella was nice.

Wasn't this week's House incredibly satisfying? There was no sign of Thirteen — bring her back! — but House helped resurrect a man from the dead, heard voices in his head (crazy), and made goo-goo eyes at Cuddy.

I must admit I'd been seriously dismayed to see peaches and watermelons being replaced by Fall fruits at the farmers market, but once a myriad of different beets caught my eye, the season managed to redeem itself. From the crimson-red garden beet to the pink-and-white striped Chioggia, these root vegetables come in a range of stunning, jewel-toned hues. They add a punch of color — and a sweet, mildly buttery flavor when cooked — to just about any course. While they're available in California almost year-round, October, it seems, is the time of year when they taste most tender.

Is it just me, or do the housewives seem even more desperate than usual this week? Susan takes some drastic measures to scare Danny away, which in turns sets Angie off with a few crazy antics of her own. Meanwhile, Bree's jealousy sends an innocent woman to the hospital and Lynette makes Tom look like a fool to cover up her pregnancy at a company dinner.

Freida Pinto has been making Paris considerably more adorable this week, holding hands with cutie boyfriend Dev Patel at the fashion shows and taking to the streets in a variety of sweet outfits. At the Louis Vuitton show, her makeup was the standout part of her ensemble. It was subtle, but it gave her a gorgeous glow and played up her features perfectly.

Just when you thought Glee couldn't get any wackier than baby buying and middle-aged students, they go and take uppers. Yup, this week's episode didn't disappoint in the hilarity department, from the A-Rod steroid jokes to Sue's dear diary moment. I do wish there could have been more performances, though there were some serious strides in the story lines, particularly with Will and Emma.
