We've already covered how important it is to volunteer for tasks that make your supervisor grind her teeth. While that part of the formula to indispensability is more about them, this part is all about you.

Whether you're new on the job or you've been in the same position for a while, begin asking more questions and opening your ears. Learning as much as possible about your industry will make you a more self-sufficient worker, boost your performance, and polish your attention to detail. Your boss will notice your enthusiastic interest in your job and your intensified knowledge about what's going on around you.

As soon as your company lifts any hiring freeze it has in effect because of the economy, take on the challenge of training someone new. The company will think highly of your willingness to contribute and the confidence in your own abilities won't go unnoticed. You may just become the go-to person for training new people, which gives you a big leg up in becoming indispensable.

How Do You Make Garlic Bread?

Garlic bread is one of my all time favorite foods. I love the crisp crunch of the toasted bread smothered with tangy garlic. When I make garlic bread I don't have a set recipe that I follow; I usually just use what I have on hand. Sometimes I'll top the bread with parmesan cheese other times I'll make an herb butter and spread this on a baguette. However, lately I've been feeling uninspired.

Now when I make garlic bread, it tastes the same - my garlic bread has become boring! That's why I'm wondering, how you make garlic bread? Please share your secrets below.

If your family is anything like mine at Thanksgiving, there are likely a few kids running underfoot who'd love a planned activity. That's why this Thanksgiving leaf garland is so perfect: it gives kids a meaningful task, and is a quick enough project that you can make it before turkey hits the table.

Here's What You'll Need

This leaf template
Colored paper/construction paper
Twine, yarn, or string
Scissors
Double-sided tape
Pens or pencils

Here's how to make it, from Full Circle:

Trace out leaf shapes using the leaf template.
Cut out leaves in a variety of colors.
Help children write what they're thankful for on each leaf. Then have the kids take leaves to other friends or family members and have them write down what they're thankful for.
Space leaves evenly on twine or yarn. Using doublesided tape, attach the leaves to the twine.
Hang from a doorway, or along a wall, or even from a chandelier.

For my family's Thanksgiving, we always rent a couple dining tables and a dozen chairs, move our everyday dining table to the garage, and use our formal dining table as a buffet. When the party's over, my family members crash on every spare bed, couch, or inflatable mattress in the house.

I have a friend who seems to have every online-dating horror story in the cache. Guys she dated two years ago write her because they don't remember her. Yet they like what they see - again! Guys she knows write her, not because they don't recognize her, but because it's easier (I imagine) than asking her out in real life. This hasn't happened once or twice, but she has stories that you could finish at least one cocktail to. She even once found a newly ex-boyfriend on a dating site that said they were a four-star match. Ha!
