A friend of mine, a proclaimed hater of cardio, decided to test the aerobic exercise waters to see what all the hype was about. After six weeks, she tells me in a surprised tone that while she has not lost any weight, she has lost two inches off her waist. And there is the reason to learn to love cardio, or at least factor it into your fitness program (love might be pushing it).

For an elaborate meal like Thanksgiving, it's crucial to consider how much food you'll serve. Too little, and you'll leave guests wishing they could gobble up more; too much, and you'll wind up with Thanksgiving leftovers for weeks. To make sure your food doesn't go to waste, take time to do some adequate planning.

Leighton Meester posed in a punchy dress with her former costar Nicole Fiscella and Olivia Palermo in NYC last night at the launch party for You Know You Want It: Style-Inspiration-Confidence, a book written by Gossip Girl's costume designer Eric Daman. Leighton supported the man who puts her in so many fabulous clothes, which she was once again showing off on the set yesterday with Ed Westwick and a surprising reappearing costar. She, Olivia, and Nicole all looked fantastic on the red carpet and inside the party, so maybe they learned a thing or two from the book they were out to help promote.

This week's CW drama block may have its share of cool guest stars like N.E.R.D. and Samantha Ronson, but, on the whole, it's a total mess. You can now pick up a new MinoHD for $230 which can record up to 120 minutes of footage (which is double the time from the previous version) and it features a new 2-inch anti-glare display.

I love the look of the Sundance Catalog's Midcentury Studio Stool ($245). The varnished raw steel has an understated, industrial look that seems as fitting for a bistro or bar counter as a kitchen or home office. At 27 inches tall and 17 inches wide, they're also a great size — big enough but not too hefty.
