While the world gears up for next week's Winter Games, the culinary industry is waiting with bated breath for its own version of the Olympics: the Bocuse d'Or.
This Saturday, Feb. 6, at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, 12 semifinalists will compete for one coveted position on the Bocuse d'Or USA team.

We've loved Felicia Day even before she made us LOL during her first The Guild music video last year. Not to mention the fact that Felicia has starred and guest-starred in several geek-worshipped shows like Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and of course the online sensation The Guild (Season Three is available for download on iTunes now, and DVD on Feb.

Continuing on with our Geeks We Love series, we take a turn from gadgets and come to a genre that is close to my own heart: sci-fi.
Resident io9 expert Annalee Newitz is the editor-in-chief of one of the most comprehensive sci-fi blogs around. But more than that, she's a huge sci-fi fan who grew up obsessing over everything from aliens to cell phones, which parlayed into a dream job of writing spectacular content every day for our enjoyment.

With an ice queen as a mommy and a professional hockey player for a father, it's no surprise that Kristi Yamaguchi's children take to the ice for a little family fun. The petite Olympic champion and mother of two daughters (Keara, 6, and Emma, 4) chatted it up with our very own PopSugar Rush gal Karli, where she dished on her favorite American Idols, her excitement about the Winter Olympics, and how she stays active with her two girls.

Perhaps she is best known as the ex-wife of rocker Travis Barker, or one might connect the blond bombshell to her Playboy past, but to her three children, she is simply mommy. Shanna Moakler entered the spotlight at a young age as a model at age 15 and grew into pageant life, where she was crowned Miss USA in 1995. Now it is her children who are number one in her life.

Food Network's Melissa d'Arabian is at the top of her game. It was only four months ago that she was announced winner of the Next Food Network Star; now her new show, Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa d'Arabian, has been renewed for a second season.
I spoke with the energetic young mom, who seemed surprisingly grounded in spite of her recent TV success, about her whirlwind year, her show, and her favorite $10 dinner of all.
