New York was host to the Fashion International 26th Annual Night of Stars last night, where a number of celebs dressed up to walk the red carpet. Gwen Stefani looked stunning in her black dress, ditching the red lips for a night and going with nude makeup that really softened her look, Evan Rachel Wood looked great in her floor length red dress, while Eva Mendes looked a little more casual in a shorter dress with pockets — she then went on to another event in the city and FabUK wants to know if you love or hate her look. James Franco took a break from his studies to hit the stage Saturday during the New Yorker festival. The actor had a lots of expertise to share, from his dual degrees in writing and directing to his upcoming stint on General Hospital. It's not April Fool's, I have not started abusing substances, this is an actual news story: James Franco is set to guest star on daytime soap opera General Hospital.
Oh and it's not just some walk-on role as a favor or a dare: Franco will star in a multi-episode arc, which will last for about two months, and he'll play a "mysterious character" (of course he will). What's more, he apparently approached General Hospital himself with the idea.

Julia Roberts was a lucky lady yesterday as she took a walk through NYC's Tompkins Square Park arm in arm with James Franco. He also serenaded her with a ukelele as they shot Eat, Pray, Love, which they also filmed together Monday. James is making the most of his time off from school working on a variety of projects — he was also scheduled to spend part of his Summer filming his latest stoner flick, Your Highness, in Europe with Natalie Portman.
