Katy and Co. Give Us an Amazing MTV EMA Show

After the women and men arrived on the red carpet for the MTV EMAs they all took their seats for the ceremony. Green Day kicked off the show and then Katy Perry did an awesome medley of the Best Song nominees. The show was full of great performances, like Beyonce in red suspenders, Jay-Z's amazing NYC backdrop, Foo Fighters rocking out and Shakira showing off her drumming. Pete Wentz observed he was a foot shorter than Bar Refaeli as they presented an award, and Katy interrupted Kanye's nomination clip in a nod back to the VMAs.

Katy made loads of costume changes, from full skirts with holes, cheeky sheer tops and a West Ham kit with Rusty emblazened on it in honour of her beau's Twitter handle and football team. David Hasselhoff, Backstreet Boys, Brody Jenner, Miranda Cosgrove, Jesse Metcalfe and Juliette Lewis presented awards to winners like U2, who performed at Brandenburg Gate with Jay-Z for the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Jonas Brothers presented a fan tribute to Michael Jackson, Tokio Hotel brought flames to the stage and Leona Lewis was surrounded by mist. Check out the full list of winners here and videos here!

Rihanna Performs and Parties With Jay-Z and Beyonce

Rihanna brought a starry crowd to the Brixton Academy last night for the launch party for the Nokia X6 where she showcased new material from Rated R. Jay-Z made a surprise appearance to sing with Rihanna on stage, and they were joined by Beyonce and her new pals JLS for the after party at Mahiki. As well as our giveaway winners lots of famous faces were in the audience for the gig, including Emma Bunton, Neve Campbell, Daisy Lowe, Kimberly Stewart and Keisha Buchanan to name but a few. Looks like a fun night!

Rihanna Has New Accessories and Possibly a New Guy

Rihanna showed off her Louis Vuitton fanny pack as she left London's Met Bar last night. She was rolling solo after a fun evening out with Jay-Z and Beyonce on Tuesday that even included a special duet. Rihanna isn't exactly alone, though, since she's rumored to have a new guy in the picture - she was spotted recently getting cozy with 90210's Tristan Wilds.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Party With JLS in London

Beyonce is in London for the UK leg of her tour and she's been partying all over town this weekend with Jay-Z and the JLS boys. On Friday she wore a white and silver dress at Kanaloa with the guys, and last night she wore an all-black ensemble at Whisky Mist after her concert at the O2, where she was joined on stage by Kanye West and Jay-Z, and she's brought so much luggage with her that she's reportedly had to book a hotel room just for her bags! At the club last night Beyonce helped Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Oritse Williams and JB Gill celebrate their album beating Robbie Williams to number one spot. The sweet moment followed a devastating day for the lads, when a number of their fans were crushed as they performed at Birmingham's Christmas lights switch on. We wish a speedy recovery to those who were hurt.

Katy Perry and Sugar UK Prepare for Tonight's MTV EMAs!

MTV EMA host Katy Perry posed with Pete Wentz and Joss Stone at a press conference yesterday ahead of the MTV Europe Music Awards at the O2 Arena in Berlin tonight, which airs on MTV at 9pm. Pete is taking on digital hosting duties, while Joss will be presenting the red carpet online at 8pm. Acts performing include Beyonce, Jay-Z, Leona Lewis, Shakira, Green Day, Foo Fighters and Tokio Hotel, and presenters include Brody Jenner, Bar Refaeli, Backstreet Boys, Jonas Brothers and more. Katy joked what she'd learned from Russell Brand wouldn't be appropriate for the show, and also spoke about her outfits, saying:

"I don’t care if I do fall over or if a boob does fall out! ... I’m highlighting what God gave me. Using what your mama made! ... There’s a 1930’s dark romantic vibe. It’s still gonna be fun but the fruit has all gone sour. It’s sexy with naughtier undertones. Taking the vibe of Berlin and putting into the visual - using lots of crystals and bowler hats and bow ties and boobie things."

2009 MTV EMA Nominations and Performers Announced!

Having already given us the shortlist for the Best UK & Ireland New Act category, MTV has now announced the full list of nominations for the 2009 MTV Europe Music Awards. Tokio Hotel, Green Day and Leona Lewis are all confirmed to perform at the ceremony in Berlin on 5 November too. Lady GaGa and Kings of Leon lead the pack with five nominations each, while several of our British and Irish stars have nominations, including Robbie Williams, Coldplay, U2, La Roux, Pixie Lott, Little Boots and Leona Lewis. You can vote for your favourites and then see all the pictures and find out gossip from backstage when we cover the awards in November. Beyonce and her hubby Jay-Z were both spotted out and about in London yesterday, doing a little shopping in the British sunshine. They're over here at the moment as Beyonce is on tour - she appeared at the O2 Arena this weekend and the audience were treated to glimpses of her man, who was apparently centre stage as she made her entrance. Keeping it in the family, Beyonce's little sister Solange Knowles performed at the show's afterparty, and next stop on the tour is Manchester tonight! I adore Beyonce's matching shades and shoes, doesn't she look gorgeous?

Beyonce and Jay-Z Brush Up on the Fashion World

Last week Beyonce and Jay-Z sat courtside with Kanye at the Nets game in NJ, but this weekend they sat in a different kind of front row. The couple headed to Milan for the Armani and Versace fashion shows, where they met up with Kelly Rowland. Jay-Z looks thrilled sitting between two beautiful women, and he even got all dolled up for the event. No doubt he would rather be sitting courtside at the basketball game, but at least the runways were featuring menswear.

Beyonce Knows Herself Enough to Be With Jay-Z

Beyonce Knowles isn't a teenager anymore, but that didn't stop her from sitting down with Seventeen to chat all about her whirlwind year, which includes her stop by the TRL finale tonight, as well as her upcoming double album. She opened up about her hush-hush wedding to Jay-Z, as well as her competition. Here's more:

On finally settling down with Jay-Z: "I was 18 when we first met, 19 when we first started dating. There was no rush - no one expected me to run off and get married. I really don’t believe that you will love the same thing when you’re 20 as you do at 30. So that was my rule: Before the age of 25, I would never get married. I feel like you have to get to know yourself, know what you want, spend some time by yourself, and be proud of who you are before you can share that with someone else."
On what she's learned from her husband: "I guess probably that we’re all human. I don’t care if you’re picture-perfect on every magazine cover, and you’re the most handsome, successful, coolest guy – you still get sad, and you still get your feelings hurt, and you still get confused and vulnerable and nervous and scared. You have to find a person you can make it through the tough times with."
On competition with other artists: "I feel like I’m my competition. I don’t try to compete with other people. I just try to better myself. I go and watch everything that I’ve done. I have my YouTube days, when I watch every performance, and I listen to my music, and I watch my videos to figure out what I need to do, what I need to fix, and how to become a better singer."

It's rare to get a peek into her relationship with Jay-Z, especially about their vulnerability, but it's part of what keeps her human and able to be her own best motivation.

Jay-Z And Beyonce Jet To St Barts

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z have been enjoying a Christmas break in St Barts, where they spent an evening out with friends looking happy and relaxed. The couple's wedding was definitely one of the Biggest Headlines of 2008, and Beyonce was part of one of the most memorable TV moments of the year when she performed a duet with The X Factor's Alexandra Burke shortly before she won the competition. My girl FabUK has kept an eye on Beyonce's style icon status this year, a reputation she's continuing by using Gareth Pugh's designs in her latest music video for "Diva". I can't wait to see what's on the cards for this celeb couple in 2009!
