The Look For Less: Vivienne Westwood Buckled Pirate Boots

Fab reader Shahrzaad recently pointed out in our The Fashion Stylist group that everyone is wearing pirate boots these days. Right on. From Kate Moss to models on the streets, many are dipping their feet into Vivienne Westwood's Buckled Pirate Boots ($789). The look is not for everyone, but if you can pull it off, there's a less expensive version out there.

These Jeffrey Campbell Woodsuede Slouch Flats ($220) don't come that cheap, but they sure beat the Vivienne Westwood price tag. They are suede and have the same chunky buckles. The color is different, but no matter, the pirate motif is still present. If $220 for a pair of boots is still too steep, check out some other flat buckled boots for under $100.

If you're looking for a sleek and sophisticated boot this season, might I suggest you invest in a pair of taupe boots? This nice, neutral tone goes with any wardrobe palette and has that modern edge every girl is looking for. I love them so much, I own two pairs: one that's similar to this Sam Edelman Sofia Boot ($158), and a crosshatch vintage pair. So go, taupe it out.

The Look For Less: Isabel Marant Stud Buckle Boot

Gush, double gush. I can't get enough of Isabel Marant's Fall '09 show. Each and every single look, down to the graduated cone footwear, is amazing. Speaking of footwear, how cool are the stud buckle boots Lily Donaldson is wearing? They're slightly trendy, yes, but subtle enough to wear for a while. Unfortunately, like every other Marant piece, they're out of my price range. Luckily, Jeffrey Campbell has come out with an identical pair without the killer price tag.

This Jeffrey Campbell Black Suede Boot ($165) is as close as any boot is going to get to the Isabel Marant version. It has the right studs, the buckle, the fold over detail, and a similar heel shape. Now all you need are Marant-inspired clothes and you're perfect.

Beige is one of those colors, if worn wrong, can be outright boring. But styleintuition knows otherwise. Here she is beige, not blah. She's the farthest thing from it. I love the sharp blazer and the contrasting black pieces. The silver jewels keep the look from being too black and beige.

Fabworthy: Jeffrey Campbell Givenchy-Inspired Sandals

Bummer, I already have pink sandals for Summer, but if you don't, definitely attack this Jeffrey Campbell Roller Sandal ($99). The price, look, and color are so right. Givenchy fans will immediately recognize the top part because it looks identical to Givenchy's Cutout Shoe Booties. So basically you get the Givenchy touch minus the painful heel and stiff price tag. Nothing sounds more amazing right now.
