Girls and Guys Get Glam For the American Music Awards!

The American Music Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, celebrating the best in US music from the past 12 months! Taylor Swift was the big winner of the night, dominating the female categories and getting gongs for favourite artist in both pop and country categories as well as beating Michael Jackson to the huge award - Artist of the Year. Taylor's in London at the moment and missed the ceremony, but Michael's family Jermaine and Janet were at the ceremony and picked up the late singer's four awards.

Country act Gloriana were shocked to beat Lady GaGa to Breakthrough Artist award, while Twilight picked up yet another award for Favourite Soundtrack. Performers included Whitney Houston, Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, Shakira, Rihanna, Lady GaGa as well as a performance by Adam Lambert that's got everyone talking - see why under the cut!

J Lo Chows Down on a Slice Between Her Diva Poses

Jennifer Lopez was in a mini dress on Monday for a photo shoot in LA, where between takes she sported mismatched shoes and snacked on pizza. She has lots of posing and promotional work in her future, as she gears up for the release of her new album coming in January and movie The Break-Up Plan shortly after in March. Come Sunday, however, Jennifer may be back in Miami to be with Marc and cheer on his Dolphins when they host Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen and play the Patriots.

The couple has been all over the East Coast this month, supporting Marc's Dolphins in Miami and attending star-studded events at the White House. Jennifer will have her hands full over the next few months as she puts the finishing touches on her next album Love?, while simultaneously prepping for the Spring release of her next film The Back-Up Plan.

Jennifer Lopez's New Track "Fresh Out of the Oven" - Hit the Dance Floor or Leave the Club?

Jennifer Lopez just debuted her brand new track, "Fresh Out of the Oven" featuring the rapper Pitbull. To go along with the track, Jennifer put up a new website WhoisLola.com, which shows clips of a silhouette dancing to the song and a Twitter page. Apparently Jennifer says the alternate persona is to promote the track, and not a Sasha Fierce-type stage name. Lopez also says that this track will not be included on her upcoming album. Madonna Implies J. Lo Copies Her - Plausible or Pretentious?

Madonna paid a visit to David Letterman earlier this week, and yesterday she called in to chat with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show. While she's not one to shy away from controversy, it seems like Madonna was actively trying to create drama when she implied that Jennifer Lopez tries to copy her. Of J. Lo's visit to one of her shows, Madonna said, "I was getting super-sharp looks from [Lopez] . . . . Whenever artists come to see my show, they're studying me." A diva fight could be just what Madonna needs to promote her upcoming album Celebration, but tell us what you think of Madonna's implication that J. Lo copies her - is it plausible or pretentious?

Jenny from the Block Marriage on the Rocks?

Could it be that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony will no longer be making music together? The couple has been married for 1010 days (yes popbytes is actually counting for us) but the end may be near. Apparently there have been lots of fights and no story about Jennifer would be complete if the whole pregnancy thing wasn't an issue either. Page Six reports:

JENNIFER Lopez and Marc Anthony are lovey-dovey in public, but insiders say they've hit a rough patch in their marriage. "There was a fight on New Year's Eve," said a source who saw Lopez that night. Another spy said, "There was a fight after she performed at the Super Bowl, and when she had an album-listening party in Miami two months ago, there was an issue." According to this source, Lopez stood up and talked about her upcoming album and said, "This is my dream and Marc and I worked so hard on this album . . . Marc, would you like to say something?" - to which Anthony coldly said, "No," and looked away. One of the issues is that Lopez is said to be putting off pregnancy - he has four kids with two other women - and Anthony is very interested in Scientology. But a friend of both said, "They fight, sure, but everyone fights." A rep for Lopez said, "They're fine."

While we are not a huge fan of them together, we actually thought J Lo had met her match with her third husband. I guess when you are actually aging backwards you may want to leave your options open anyway.

Jennifer Brings the Lopez Effect to Allure

She's still not talking about her pregnancy, but Jennifer Lopez did open up to Allure magazine about tabloids, her family and career. J Lo graces the cover of the November issue to promote her upcoming album Brave and a film she has in production, called Love and Other Impossible Pursuits where a woman desperate for children accepts her fate as a stepmother - a plot perhaps mirroring her own relationship to Marc's three children? Here's more:

Jennifer on not wanting to be in the tabloids: “I know how uncomfortable that life is, how destructive. That’s why you see people crumble under the pressure,” Lopez says, kicking her feet up on a swivel chair. “It’s a tricky thing, the tabloids. I know that a lot of people read them, and they gauge who’s hot and who’s not by who is on the cover.” Her voice going flat, she adds: “If that’s what being hot is right now, I don’t want to be that.”
Jennifer on self esteem: "I can do anything. Just get me in the room; do me a favor. Then I’ll make it happen on my own,’” Lopez says. “It’s not that you get every audition, but you make fans along the way.”
Jennifer on looking back: “I wouldn’t change anything,” she adds, “because it was so fun. Even when things were hard, even if I’d be crying in the bathtub because I didn’t get an audition, or a boyfriend was being mean to me, I had my presence of mind. Whatever it was, I always used to say” -in a whisper- “‘This is my life.’”

With a life like J Lo's, it's hard to imagine there is much room for regret among all of her success. And pregnant or not, she appears to be in a great place in her life with Marc and her many, many projects.

J Lo Pregnancy Denials Begin... Again

J Lo's people quickly denied a statement that Jesse McCartney made in a radio interview saying J Lo dropped out of Dallas because she's pregnant. Jesse has now issued an apology. This was a genius move on Jesse's part. His new album hits stores in September. Did anyone know this before he started talking about J Lo? US Weekly reports:

“She is 100% not pregnant,” J. Lo’s rep tells Us Weekly.

A source close to Jennifer adds: “Jesse McCartney doesn’t even know Jennifer. His girlfriend has never even met Jennifer. She just got cast in the movie after Jennifer was already out. Jennifer is shooting the cover of a high fashion magazine. Do you think she could wear couture if she was pregnant?”

Jesse McCartney released a statement Friday apologizing for announcing that Jennifer Lopez is pregnant on an Atlanta radio station.

“I have no firsthand knowledge whether Jennifer Lopez is pregnant or not,” McCartney said in the statement. “I thought I had read it somewhere. I apologize.”

J Lo is a Good Wife, US Citizen

Jennifer took some time out from promoting her album to report to jury duty yesterday in Beverly Hills. Naturally, she looked appropriately glamorous for the occasion. Lucky for her, she won't have to cancel any appearances because the case was dropped the same day. Jennifer is not only happy to fulfill her civic duties, but her marital ones as well. She talks to Entertainment Weekly about how she and Marc make their relationship work. Here's more:

"Marc and I are good partners," Lopez tells Entertainment Weekly magazine in its April 6 issue. "We love each other. We want to be the best person we can be for each other. And we work on that. That's what a real relationship is about to me."

"When we got married, I was like, `I've been working for I don't know how many years at (a high) level of intensity and exposure," Lopez says. "I'm going to get back to what originally drew me to expressing myself as a creative person."

We certainly like Jennifer more since she took some time out of the spotlight. Bennifer J-Lo was a bit overexposed. Now, with the release of Como Ama Una Mujer, we finally get to see the result of her return to creative expression, too.
