Yesterday in New York City, Topshop opened its first store. Along with the long lines and crowds of people, celebrities including Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Blake Lively, Anna Wintour, Rosario Dawson and of course Sir Philip Green partied before and after the doors opened to celebrate the launch. Jennifer Lopez stood out in the crowd, not so much for what she wore, but for her overall appearance. I especially loved how her hair made such a difference in her style at both parties. Do you prefer Jennifer's hair slicked back and upswept or long, loose and straight with her newish fringe?

How-To: Jennifer Lopez's Rock and Roll Hair

There was something different about Jennifer Lopez while promoting Samantha Thavasa's bag collection in Tokyo. Recently, we saw her leaving the salon with multidimensional locks and face-framing layers. And yesterday, the always-stylish Jennifer got all rock-and-roll on us, sporting this shaggy style with a sultry gaze.

Do you like this roughed-up, textured look? Celebrity stylist Ken Paves gave us the how-to on achieving this wow-factor hairdo. Get tips for recreating it at home when you read more.

Get undone: "We went for a very fresh and modern, effortless look," said Paves." I gave her more bangs and layers than usual for a glamorous yet, 'undone,' modern shag," he added.
She bangs: Paves cut bangs and layers into Jennifer's locks. Next, he applied his own Healthy Hair Volumizing Spray ($24) on her hair while it was still wet. To give a natural finish, he finger-dried the style, which fell right into place.
No bangs?: No problem. If you don’t have (or don't want) bangs, Paves says that you can easily fake them. He recommends trying his Clip-In Fringe ($152) for an instantly different look.

Jennifer Lopez Shocked by Posh's Chop

Jennifer Lopez has been really busy recently, what with the launch of her new perfume for men and partying at Milan Fashion Week. She's also revealed that she was stunned when she first saw her friend Victoria Beckham's new hair cut.

According to rumours, Jennifer has been saying she had no idea Posh was going to go for such a drastic change. According to Marie Claire, J-Lo admitted "I was so shocked. I arranged to meet up with her the day she had it done." It seems Posh had kept her hair plans a secret. J-Lo revealed "She didn't tell me what she was doing, so I turned up and there she was with this incredibly short black hair. I was knocked out!"

Jennifer, who isn't known for making drastic style changes, particularly in terms of her hair cut and colour was obviously impressed by Victoria's daring pixie cut. She added "I told her she looked like Audrey Hepburn. I think she's such a great girl."

Trend Alert: Faking a Shorter Style

Faking a shorter haircut by means of skillfully placed hair pins is nothing new. In fact, we saw Rosario Dawson do her own faux-crop late last year, followed by Nicole Kidman's asymmetric version. In recent times, the look has taken on resurgence in popularity, as celebrities have been tricking us out with their own adaptations, giving the appearance of freshly cut locks. Kate Beckinsale's full-in-the-front updo gave the illusion of an angled wedge at the Whiteout premiere; both Jennifer Lopez and Elizabeth Banks opted for wavy, tousled styles; and Kristen Stewart faked us out at the VMAs with her memorable faux bowl cut. How-To: Purposely Messy Updos

Y'know, usually when I think of rock stars, I think of long hair flying around stage. But at tonight's Fashion Rocks event, most of the revelers had their hair pulled up. Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Esposito and Mischa Barton were among the women who went with a messy, imperfect updo-which is exactly the kind of stylish but unfussy look you'd want to wear at a music-meets-fashion event.

There's something really sexy about this, too, because it isn't as buttoned-up as more formal updos can be. And best of all, it's easy to create a variation on this look in just a few minutes. For my tips, read more

After towel-drying hair, spray it with a lightweight styling spray such as Bumble and bumble Styling Lotion ($24). Work it through hair, then use a paddle brush to separate and dry hair with a blow dryer.

For Jennifer Esposito's and Mischa's look, work a small amount of mousse through the hair at the back of your head. This will create volume. Now, I haven't been able to see the back of Jennifer's head, but Mischa is rocking a fancier version of a look I like to call "I have to run to the grocery store and my hair is a mess." Basically, you're going to make a crazy ponytail. Gather most of your hair with one hand, leaving a few face-framing strands loose. Use a Goody clear, "ouchless" hair elastic to create a high ponytail in the back. From there, double up on your ponytail: Divide the ponytail into four sections, then bring one at a time back to the base of your ponytail, securing it with another elastic. I know this sounds complicated, but it really isn't. You know how sometimes you just "fold" a quick-and-messy ponytail into itself so it doesn't hang as long as it normally would? That's the general idea.

For Jennifer Lopez's look, pull your hair straight back (from the front), then gather the hair in the back of your head and pull it into a high ponytail. From there, try wrapping your ponytail around its base-think of the way a piglet's tail does a curlicue-and secure the hair with bobby pins. If your ponytail were a clock, you should be pinning your hair at each "15-minute mark," but you can do more. Don't worry if a few strands jump out! Messy is what you're going for.

How To Get Voluminous Valentine's Day Hair

Jennifer Lopez's hair was looking mighty fine at the Gucci benefit last night. Although the pregnant star seems about ready to burst, the glamazon in her went all out when it came to hair, makeup, clothing and accessories for this event.

When you are thinking about how to style your hair for Valentine's Day, a look like Jennifer's has oodles of sex appeal. Not only does it seem effortlessly sexy, but it moves, it has tremendous volume and best of all it's approachable. For five simple steps to follow to create voluminous Valentine's Day hair at home, read more.

STEP 1: Begin with clean, damp hair. Work a generous amount of volumizer into the roots and then comb hair with a wide tooth comb so that the product is evenly distributed. Part hair in the center.
STEP 2: Using a large, round brush, blow hair dry until it's about 85% dry. As you are drying your hair, direct the dryer and your hair away from your face.
STEP 3: Then, divide hair into eight sections and and twirl each section into little buns (think Princess Leia) and secure with a bobby pin. Next, turn your dryer onto a low power, hi-heat setting and keep it moving briskly until your hair is fully dry. Let your hair cool anywhere from five to twenty minutes (this is an ideal time to apply your makeup or get dressed) and then gently remove the pins.
STEP 4: Finger comb your curls into place and curl any of the ends that may have become kinked with your round brush and hair dryer. When you are satisfied, mist your entire head with a light hold hairspray. Since not everyone is blessed with thick, long hair like Jennifer, if you really want to create killer volume, adding in a few extensions can make a big difference.

Trend Alert: Sleek, Chic Hair at The Golden Globes

The Golden Globes red carpet was filled with so many different beauty looks ranging from tomato stained lips, to loose waves, undone makeup and pink lips, however, the most prominent trend was slick, wet looking updo's. Kate Beckinsale even liked her hair so much from the Critics' Choice Awards that she even gave us a repeat performance. Others like Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Megan Fox, and Anna Paquin consistently change their hair, so this style was interesting and fresh.

I would imagine this hairdo is perfect for a nerve-wracking night when the last thing you want to worry about is the way your hair will hold up in the humidity of sunny southern California. I think that all of these ladies are lovely, however, Jennifer's hairstyle is wrapped so tightly, it borders on looking painful. Love It or Hate It? Jennifer Lopez's Purple Reign

Jennifer Lopez looked simply stunning as she attended Fashion Group International's 25th Annual Night of the Stars at Cipriani in New York this week. The superstar went for Grecian-inspired hair with a glossy roll piled high on the crown. A pulled back style, plus extra height suits J-Lo, perhaps because she always emits such an elegant air.

Although I love her classic camel and metallic makeup, it's always nice to see Jennifer experimenting with colour. Lilac shadow bought out the sparkle in her brown eyes, although those lashes must be fakes, surely. A touch of creamy blush in a coral shade plus glossy nude lips made for a beautiful affair.
