Raising Bilingual Babies Like Honor and Sam

Expectant mamas hoping to give their children the best springboard into life often use in-utero techniques like the Ritmo Prenatal or BabyPlus and continue to teach them the ABCs and 123s once out of the womb. Their wee brains are like sponges, soaking up bits and pieces that could make a college student green with envy. Parents skilled in multiple languages are smart to teach their youngsters the different tongues early on, giving them a strong language base from which they can grow.

Elin and Tiger Woods are making sure their babes know Swedish and English while Jessica Alba is tossing Spanish words like gato and pato out to her daughter Honor. The doting mother said:

I am a mother who shoves information down her throat, poor thing. . . . I sing her songs about colors in Spanish and English when I'm cooking. . . . So now she kind of points to blue and says "azul" and I say "Yes, azul, muy bien!" It's slow-going but she's sort of picking it up.

Time To Get Your Votes in For Round 4 of Our Bikini Bracket!

We've entered round four of this year's Hottest Summer Bikini Body contest, and we're down to the last eight ladies after you guys cast your votes. A few of the races are really heating up, and here's a rundown of how the competition looks for the remaining contestants:

Jennifer Aniston vs. Marisa Miller: Jennifer and Marisa are currently in the closest race of all - the Marley and Me star has an edge on the Victoria's Secret model by less than 50 votes!
Jessica Alba vs. Miranda Kerr: The Angels don't appear to be doing too well - Jessica has the edge on Miranda!
Cindy Crawford vs. Kim Kardashian: Cindy Crawford has a lot more experience modeling bikinis, and in this case it's paying off - she's beating Kim by a few hundred votes.
Bar Refaeli vs. Gisele Bundchen: In a matchup between two models, only one will prevail - and right now it looks like that person will be Bar, who's beating Gisele by the widest margin of all.

The Bikini Bracket Is Down to the Final Four!

Round four of our Summer Bikini Bracket ended last night and now we're down to the final four ladies in the contest. Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Alba are going head-to-head, while Bar Refaeli and Cindy Crawford are matched up in the battle of the swimsuit models. What's even more interesting is that in our top four we have two 20-somethings up against two amazing looking 40-year-old women. Celebrity stylist Charles Baker Strahan has been sharing his tips for making our hair look its best during warmer-weather months, from avoiding naughty locks to his suggestion for a fresh Spring haircut to making your ponytail less boring. Now he's offering up his tips on creating a simple office-to-party hairstyle in a flash. He said:

One style that I think is very versatile is loose, tousled waves. You can start with your hair down, and the soft tousles can be pulled up into a messy bun with braided moments throughout to add a different texture. Because the waves are already there, it will look more dressed up than just an average bun.

Once you've got your tousled style all set, check out tips from Napoleon Perdis on how to go from day to night with your makeup for a more dramatic look, reminiscent of Jessica Alba's soft, tossed-back waves. Be prepared to watch heads turn.

How-To: Live Green Like Jessica Alba

InStyle currently has a great feature on celebrity interior designer Kari Whitman and her eco-friendly ideas for Jessica Alba's home. Whitman is known for her creative use of salvaged artifacts (like the vintage chandeliers shown here) that she finds by scouring antique shops, flea markets, and her clients' homes. For example, she says, "For Jessica Alba's house we bought almost every piece used." Snatching up second-hand pieces isn't the only way she has greenified Alba's home, though. Whitman also advocates using zero and low VOC paints, bamboo flooring, Mrs. Meyer's cleaning products, and eco-friendly pet and nursery furnishings. She has also purchased upcycled accessories for Alba's home, from stores like Uncommon Goods.

Hollywood Gets Independent and Spirited Before the Oscars

Before we were overcome with Oscar mania, lots of stars headed to the Independent Spirit Awards in LA on Saturday. After the exciting red carpet, the show was full of parodies and dance numbers featuring Teri Hatcher, Christina Applegate and Rainn Wilson goofing it up onstage. The Wrestler was a big winner, taking home honors for Best Film as well as Best Male Lead. Mickey Rourke gave an off-the-cuff acceptance speech, dedicated to his recently deceased dog Loki. Other winners like Penelope Cruz and James Franco celebrated with their trophies in the press room. Mary-Kate Olsen and Ben Kingsley were two of the many famous presenters along with Jessica Alba, Lucy Liu and the newly engaged Claire Danes. Elizabeth Banks and a scruffy Bradley Cooper also took the stage to present. This awards show honored films that cost less than $20 million to make but gave the stars a preview of what was to come on Oscar Sunday.
