Jessica Simpson brought out her very best Barbie impression once again shooting the new Hairdo Extensions ads in LA yesterday. Of course Jess had her business partner and sidekick Ken Paves right there with her to perfect her locks from curly to super straight. Seems like we'll get to see Jess' goofy side coming into play here, which is already better than her unflattering Esquire cover.

Brandy Extends Her Hair Influence

What do Brandy, Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson have in common besides singing careers? They're all endorsing lines of hair extensions. Brandy is the latest to join the faux-hair club, pushing a collection of extensions and weaves made with collagen. They're available in 16 shades designed for women of color, and at $29, they're less expensive than Paris' human-hair extensions and Jess' fake-hair clip-ins.

Initially I thought extensions were expensive and time-consuming, but now that there are some cheaper options on the market-and my hair's in an awkward growing-out stage-I've been thinking of trying them out. Then again, you can always try out celebrity hairstyles online, so maybe I'll just start there. I'm curious to know whether you've tried extensions. If so, was the cost worth it, and did it look believably real?

Jessica "Extends" Her Empire

The Insider is reporting that Jessica Simpson has found yet another way to extend her ever growing empire. Apparently Ms Simpson and her BBF hairdresser, Ken Paves, are planning on creating a line of hair extensions. Now you too can have those long fake locks that Jessica wears to imitate her favorite muppet or to change her look for the red carpet. Here's more:

"They are going to have a rainbow of colors and styles," a source close to the Texan beauty tells me. "There will be Jessica's signature blond, but also dark locks like Ashlee. There will be different price points, too." Look for Jessica Hair Extensions to hit stores this summer.

Fragrance Review: Jessica Simpson Fancy

From country singer to pop star to hair extension creator, this multi-talented lady has done it all. Her latest venture takes her into the fragrance world. When I first heard of the aromas featured in Jessica Simpson's perfume, Fancy ($49-$59), I suddenly had the urge to make a sundae. Apricot, pear, toasted almonds, caramel? Yep, my teeth started aching just thinking about it.

The name of the perfume didn't raise my hopes; when something's described as "fancy," that usually means it's just the opposite. But upon experiencing my first whiff of the scent, I was pleasantly surprised. The aroma isn't as sticky-sweet as I envisioned - it's more sophisticated than the overly literal smells of Jess's earlier Dessert line. I loved Fancy's lightness of apricot and pear notes; and the vanilla helped to add a subtle balance to the blend. It's warm and inviting, and considering how men seem to go bananas for vanilla, it's a good first-date fragrance.

Although I'm impressed by the thought behind the blend, the floral notes - which include jasmine and gardenia - are just a little too, well, fancy for me. I like a hint of dirtiness in my fragrance, but if you love sweet, warm blends, Jessica's perfume is worth a sniff. Even though it's too vanilla for me (take that either way you like) it's pleasant and long-lasting, and it's bound to be a guilty pleasure of anyone who's normally opposed to the idea of celebrity fragrance in general.

No Wonder Jessica Is Depressed

Remember when Nick was famous for being in some boy band and Jessica was barely known since she was competing with the likes of Britney and Christina? In fact, Nick was much more well off that Jessica's dad supposedly even recommended that she did not sign a prenup. Then the couple we fell in love with changed and Jessica's career was on fire. Looks like the tables are turned again. Not only has Nick moved on and found a new love but he's back on top according to album sales. Here's more:

To date, Simpson's fourth album has sold a total of 218,972 copies and currently sits at No. 131 on Billboard's Top 200 Album list, while her ex-husband's new album has seen 545,345 sales due to the success of its title ballad.

The Daily News said that those numbers reflect a drastic drop for Simpson, whose last album sold 2.9 million copies, while in contrast reflects triple the amount of sales Lachey enjoyed with his last musical offering.

To be fair Jessica has been spreading herself a little thin lately. Between creating hair extensions, shoes, bags and more as well as acting in films and as her own publicist, there's not a lot of time left in the day for a singing career. Jessica's LA Pit Stop Between Tony's Texan Games

After her Thanksgiving trip to Texas with her rumored new man Tony Romo, Jessica Simpson got all done up to spend Wednesday night out with Ken Paves in LA. Jessica even seized the moment to do a little shameless promotion for their hair extension line, Hairdo. On Thursday she was spotted boarding a private jet and it just so happens that Tony's Dallas Cowboys played last night - if Jessica made it there she's a lucky charm, he threw four touchdowns to win the game. Of course, no Jess romance would be complete without creepy Joe rumors. At least this time it sounds like Joe just passed on his daughter's number when the QB asked and Jess gave the okay. With a tough magazine cover to face this week, cheering on a new man from the sidelines sounds like a great way to relax.

Basic and Beautiful Wedding Hairstyles

Finding the right hairstyle for your wedding day is a big deal, so don't be ashamed or embarrassed to play with different looks. I sat through five different trials trying everything from long, wavy extensions to updos. Heck, even celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves said that, "once Carmen Electra selected her wedding dress, I created 13 different hairstyles on her and took a Polaroid of each one so she could select the one which was perfect for her."

This is your day to shine - you should look fabulous! And a great suggestion, Ken. It's important to take a Polaroid so that your stylist knows exactly how to recreate the look. I know it all feels kinda vain, but once you find something you love, you'll be so happy to have one less detail to worry about on your wedding day!

Updo: This is a broad category because it can mean chignon, french twist, ballet bun or simple knot. You can part it on the side to modernize this classic look, or give some volume to the crown. Even though it may not feel like something you'd be interested in, I encourage you to try your hair styled off your neck and away from your face. It really allows you to have a fuss free night! Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party

Can you even imagine the conversations among these girls? Ashlee was there with Pimp Daddy Simpson. Looks like she went back the hair extension look again. Recently she defended her father but I'm sure he planted the seeds. Here's more:

She explains, "(Sister) JESSICA (SIMPSON) and I are very much our own individuals. I'll make my record and not invite him into the studio until I invite him.

"Sure, he'll have an opinion but if I'm like, 'No, I want that song to be on my record' he'll be like 'All right, baby, you got it!'"

The former Baptist minister and adolescent psychologist also avoided giving Simpson a lecture when she was videotaped at a McDonalds outlet intoxicated, asking a fan to kiss her feet and climbing on the counter.

She says, "My dad could have been really mean to me about that, and he was so nice. He treated me like an adult."

UPDATE: Just to clarify for anyone who may be confused - Ashlee is on the left, others included at the event are Fergie, Courtney Love and Kimberly Stewart. I just made note of the awkward pairings because I could not imagine what these two pairs conversations must be like.
