Is it just me or is Daisy looking better than ever these days?! Looks like the maltipoo got a trim to share the spotlight at Jessica Simpson's perfume launch in Dallas over the weekend – after all the fragrance is called "Fancy" so could she bring along a pup with a sloppy cut? I think not.I know North would remain atop that table for about one second . . . followed by breaking glass and his dive into the audience for kisses. Fragrance Review: Jessica Simpson Fancy

From country singer to pop star to hair extension creator, this multi-talented lady has done it all. Her latest venture takes her into the fragrance world. When I first heard of the aromas featured in Jessica Simpson's perfume, Fancy ($49-$59), I suddenly had the urge to make a sundae. Apricot, pear, toasted almonds, caramel? Yep, my teeth started aching just thinking about it.

The name of the perfume didn't raise my hopes; when something's described as "fancy," that usually means it's just the opposite. But upon experiencing my first whiff of the scent, I was pleasantly surprised. The aroma isn't as sticky-sweet as I envisioned - it's more sophisticated than the overly literal smells of Jess's earlier Dessert line. I loved Fancy's lightness of apricot and pear notes; and the vanilla helped to add a subtle balance to the blend. It's warm and inviting, and considering how men seem to go bananas for vanilla, it's a good first-date fragrance.

Although I'm impressed by the thought behind the blend, the floral notes - which include jasmine and gardenia - are just a little too, well, fancy for me. I like a hint of dirtiness in my fragrance, but if you love sweet, warm blends, Jessica's perfume is worth a sniff. Even though it's too vanilla for me (take that either way you like) it's pleasant and long-lasting, and it's bound to be a guilty pleasure of anyone who's normally opposed to the idea of celebrity fragrance in general.

What do Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani and Jessica Simpson have in common-aside from their platinum albums? They're all entering the celebrity-fragrance business. Here's the scoop from Parlux, the beauty company she's working with:

The fragrance line will debut in July 2008, in the U.S., with an international roll-out shortly thereafter. The fragrance will reflect Ms. Simpson’s style, personality and confidence.

According to Ms. Simpson, “I wanted to partner with a company that would be able to express my personality through a fragrance. After meeting with Parlux, I’m extremely excited to start the development process with them.”

I'm curious to find out what Jessica comes up with. I bet it'll be very feminine, fruity and soft (and that somewhere, Ashlee Simpson is mulling her own fragrance, too). What do you think?

Jessica Simpson Gets Fancy With Her Mom

Now that Jessica's done with her Rascal Flatts tour she has time to focus on her other projects like her empire of all things Jessica Simpson. On Saturday, she was promoting her fragrance Fancy with her mom Tina in Scottsdale. In addition to her perfume, shoes, bags and more, she's also tackling jewelry, which should keep her plenty busy as Tony focuses on football.

Jessica Gets Fancy and Wants a Texan Wedding With Tony

Jessica Simpson made an appearance at a Macy's in the OC on Saturday to promote her Fancy perfume, which is one of many popular debuts of 2008. The singer is also holding strong on the hardest working celebrities list but with all of her projects, Jessica remains concentrated on her love life. InTouch reports that Jess has been talking to Tony Romo about getting married this Summer in Texas so that they can work on having a baby. We know how much she loves kids and her Cowboy so maybe we'll see her walking down the aisle with her future baby daddy before we know it.

Jess Does Dallas With Daisy, Tony, and No Buttheads in Sight

Jessica Simpson kept Daisy close as she launched her new perfume, Fancy, in Dallas on Saturday. The day before, Tony Romo and his broken pinky came out to see his girlfriend perform at the State Fair of Texas, and in return she gave constant shout-outs to him. Gushing as usual, Jessica said, "Sometimes, to find a love as big as that, you have to go through some heartbreak, some ugly ones and some butthead ones. You go through that to really appreciate where you are in life right now." Even if the couple isn't engaged yet, Jessica doesn't seem to have any complaints about the love of her life.

Beauty Byte: Fragrances for Tory Burch and Queen Latifah

One of the little secrets of the fashion industry is that any given designer's big money comes from selling perfume, not dresses. It makes sense: Most women can't afford a Dior gown, but they can splurge on a Dior fragrance. Those beauty sales add up to make millions of dollars.

So it's no surprise that Tory Burch is working on her own signature fragrance. The LA Times reports that along with adding to her accessories line, Burch is developing a fragrance. "I like coriander and tuberose and Vetiver by Guerlain," she says. There's not much news beyond that at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if the scent were to launch in a year or two.

She's not the only one, though. Queen Latifah is also getting into the scent business. To find out more about it, read more.

Queen Latifah has inked a deal with Parlux, the same company that produces fragrances for Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson. The yet-to-be-named scent is due next fall. "I see fragrance as just a natural expression of this state of love - scent expresses a woman's confidence and sensuality, it's how she embraces her body, her mind and her strength," Latifah said to WWD. No word on what the perfume will smell like, but this is one celebrity scent I'm actually looking forward to. Something tells me it won't be powdery or fruity; let's hope that Queen does something unusual.
