Nov 13 2009 - 5:30am In terms of end-of-the-world movies,
2012 packs it all — a love story, teary family moments, action-packed adventure, over-the-top-CGI, and a ton of recycled film cliches — in a two and a half hour package. That's lengthy by today's standards, but I wasn't bored for a minute. This is pure escapist entertainment.

Meh, I'll pass. It looks too ridiculous and over-CGI'd for my taste.
1Eh, if it's a rainy weekend, I'll see it with my dad. I'm sure he'll be all about this.
2Saw it last night. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone in the theater hated my friends and I because we were hysterically laughing pretty much throughout the whole movie. But Woody Harrelson was incredible.

I am a Woody Harrelson fan (cuz my husband looks like a sexier version of him) and I love his humor.
4myfairlady; I probably would have been laughing with you! I am by no means an anti-dumb movie snob; I can enjoy silly escapist movies as long as they don't take themsslves too seriously.
5that being said, I really have no desire to see this - which is unfortunate because I loooooooooove John Cusack, Amanda Peet, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Woody Harrelson (who is probably the part of this movie I am most excited about) - mainly because the preview is such an overload of cheesiness. in addition, I also forsee eye-rolling inspiring liberal propaganda on the level of The Day After Tomorrow. I might rent it; but I'm in no hurry...
i enjoyed this..... it was really fun, take your kids if they're a bit older.
6Wow!....how can I describe this one???? Have you ever gotten a very attractive man/woman home for an intimate encounter...you are soooo excited, and when its time, its a total disaster? It's not what you expected so you are disappointed and maybe even angry! Yeah, its like that! The trailer for 2012 was great. The movie was not. I could have waited to rent the DVD, or better yet, seen it at the dollar show. 2.5 hours of total non-sense and a waste of time and money. This is my opinion though. See it at your own risk.
