The stars of Showtime, the CW, and CBS came together at their TCA party in Pasadena last night. The Huntington Library was bursting with celebrities from all three networks who mixed and mingled at the gorgeous venue. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz looked perfectly petite in her sexy dress as she told us about how well-behaved Bronx is these days. Peter Facinelli and Jennie Garth both had shows to promote, though Peter was also happy to chat about feeling like Robert Pattinson at Twi-Con and heading back to work in Vancouver today!

Weeds hottie Hunter Parrish was happy to joke around about not having any sexy scenes this week though admitted that his comments about High School Musical were totally blown out of proportion: "You know what's funny? I talked about that three years ago when it was relevant and now that it's not relevant at all everyone's talking about it." AnnaLynne McCord is always a blast to chat with and she was so excited to dish on the new season and her desires for a Gossip Girl crossover. Peter Facinelli on Twi-Con: "It was phenomenal! It was probably the biggest event I've been to. 3000 fans from all over. I had a woman come in from Colombia. Another woman came in from Germany. It was pretty amazing. I don't know a lot of fans who would fly in from other countries for a weekend. At one point we were doing a Q & A and we were throwing paper airplanes into the audience that had the casts' signature on them. So I wanted to try and get one in the back [of the room], so I decided to run it to the back. It seemed like a good idea, but halfway through it got really scary. I don't know how I made it back. I thought to myself - now I know what Robert Pattinson feels like."
Ashlee on bringing Bronx to set: "He does [come to set a lot]. He's incredible. He's such a big boy. He's amazing! He's attempting to walk. I can hold him as he tries to walk - he's only eight months. He's learning fast. He's growing! He's such a big boy, it's good. He's nice and healthy and a happy baby, which you couldn't ask for more.
AnnaLynne on her dream Gossip Girl crossover: "I am still sticking to the Gossip Girl crossovers that need to happen. Naomi goes to New York. Beverly Hills girl falls in love with the bad boy - Chuck Bass and Naomi Clark. I very much adore Leighton Meester and that story line with Blair and Chuck but Naomi could come spice it up a little! Why not?
Kevin Williamson on keeping up with cast of Dawson's Creek: "Kerr Smith drove me here. I had lunch with James a couple of weeks ago and we vowed to stay in touch so we've been texting. The only one I haven't seen in a while is Michelle, who is in New York. I see Katie in LA."

Movie Preview: I Hate Valentine's Day

Last year I was tickled pink at the idea of a My Big Fat Greek Wedding reunion of Nia Vardalos and John Corbett, but now that I've gotten a peek at the film (which has a limited release starting July 3), I feel like my balloon of excitement and anticipation has deflated with a sad little farty noise.

It's actually not that bad (these actors are still adorable together, after all) - I just wanted a little more for this duo. In the romantic comedy, titled I Hate Valentine's Day, Vardalos plays "a florist who abides by a strict five-date-limit with any man finds herself wanting more with the new restaurateur in town." Corbett plays the restaurateur, of course, and the cast is filled out with various comedic actors like Rachel Dratch and 30 Rock's Judah Friedlander. Exclusive New Photos of New Moon Cast in Vancouver!

After a long day on the set of New Moon, the cast pulled out their shades to spend the afternoon out of character before catching Jackson Rathbone's concert last night. Kristen Stewart bumped into her friend and former costar John Corbett and his girlfriend Bo Derek in Vancouver while her costars Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz were busy hitting the stores together. Kellan is quickly growing on us - might be time for another Twilight battle of hotness. Meanwhile, Peter Facinelli - who some of you have been requesting - and Elizabeth Reaser landed at the airport to get to work filming their scenes. Of course the Cullen family is never complete without Robert Pattinson, but maybe he just needed a rest after we saw photos of him spending the weekend in Edward's shoes.

Tara, Diablo and John Introduce United States + 90210 News!

It was Showtime's turn to present their newest show this morning at the TCAs, born from the mind of Steven Spielberg, The United States of Tara. After a video introduction from Spielberg himself, the cast and producers sat down to answer questions on the show. Toni Collette stars as a woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder, which her family and friends accept and work with rather than hide. Afterwards, Diablo revealed to Buzz that she'll be guest starring on 90210! Plus, she looked fantastic and a bit toned down from her Juno promoting days. I thought John Corbett would always be Aidan to me, but maybe from here on out I'll love him as Max. Here are some highlights from the panel and check out even more about the show over on Buzz:

Diablo on the subject matter: "This is not the kind of series you can base on imagination. When you’re dealing with a sensitive topic like this you have to do your homework…There are certainly people who have lived their lives this way…In this case I wanted to make sure that it was completely grounded."
Toni on taking the part: "I only ever respond to the material. I never had any aspirations to work in TV, but as soon as I closed the last page of the script I turned to my husband and said ‘I have to do this’ it’s a complete dream for an actor to play so many parts. . . I was most nervous about creating Buck [the male alter], I didn’t want him to be a cliché in anyway. There's a specific friend I observed. All of the characters are so complex and whole, you don’t have to travel that far to make it real."
John on his part: "When I finished reading the script I turned to Toni’s husband and said ‘I have to do this’."

Five Essential Things to Know About United States of Tara

United States of Tara is one of the most unusual shows to hit TV in a while - even for Showtime, home of drug-dealing moms and sympathetic serial killers. First imagined by Steven Spielberg, created by Diablo Cody, and brought to life by a cast led by Toni Collette and John Corbett, the show centers on a suburban housewife named Tara who is living with Dissociative Identity Disorder, which causes alternate personalities to emerge when she's under stress. The show premieres on Sunday, and today, the cast and producers stopped by TCA. Here are some of the essential things to know - and be sure to check out some great pics of the stars over on Pop:

It was important for Tara to be open about her condition. Cody said she's seen mental illness be destigmatized over the years, so it made sense for Tara's family not to keep her illness locked away. "Obviously there are some people who are frightened or curious," she said. "There are some people who are intrigued" - and that seemed like an appropriate, modern reaction.
Deep down, the show's about acceptance. Nobody ever says outright that Collette's character is mentally ill, or that Tara's son is gay, or that her daughter is a jerk, said Brie Larson, who plays teenage daughter Kate. "There's no labels on this show, and I think that's the most interesting part."
But not everyone's OK with Tara's personalities. One of the most tense relationships on the show is between Tara and her younger sister, Charmaine (Rosemarie DeWitt). "Charmaine always thought that Tara got more attention," Cody said. "She's always been resentful of that." Charmaine has an occasional flirtation with Max (Corbett), Tara's husband, but Cody said it's nothing with an actual romantic spark at this point - it's just a way for her to get someone to pay attention to her for once.

The show doesn't fit into any box. "It was just so delicious to read and so unusual, and it was a complete dream for an actor to play so many parts," said Collette of reading the script for the first time. "It is incredibly funny, but it also is incredibly moving and incredibly real."
We might not have met all of the "alters." The show's official photo shows four personalities - Tara, Buck, T, and Alice - but "you will see new ones emerge," said producer Darryl Frank. The origin of the personalities, which have been created within Tara at different points in her life, also will be explored as the season goes on.

Mary-Kate Has Many Outfits For Every Red Carpet Occasion

Mary-Kate Olsen looked put together and pretty in white and a little more mussed up in a short flowered number at last night's NYC premiere of The Wackness. Can't blame her for the unbrushed hair when we can clearly see she just slipped out of one dress and into another. She missed the LA Film Festival premiere of the movie on Tuesday, but was happy to pose alongside her costars Olivia Thirlby and Josh Peck. While we anxiously await this one on the big screen around the country, I can't wait to see Mary-Kate on one of my new favorite shows Samantha Who? next season. Here's to more acting and fewer negative rumors from this half of the twins from here on out.

It's a Big Fat Reunion for Valentine's Day!

Guess who's reuniting onscreen: the adorable duo of Nia Vardalos and John Corbett for the romantic comedy I Hate Valentine's Day! Vardalos wrote the script and will try her hand at directing the movie which, according to Variety is "described as a comedy for the romantically challenged," and "revolves around a romantic, carefree florist who charms a commitment-phobic restaurant owner into trying her theory of 'relationship-less' dating."

The sweetest thing about this, though? Vardalos is quoted as saying "I am so happy John jumped in and really look forward to working with him - and kissing him - again." Who wouldn't be?! I'm so excited about this news! I love both these actors and they were so endearing together in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Street Kings: Police Officers Gone Wild

Street Kings is primarily focused on examining two types of police officers seen in many a film before: the rogue cop who disregards the law in the name of justice and the cop that appears to follow the rules but is deeply corrupt. You would think that in the hands of a talented guy like director David Ayer, who is well-versed in the handling of this kind of gritty material (having written Training Day and directed Harsh Times) this movie would be not only entertaining but also darkly unnerving.

So, was it entertaining? I think for some people the answer is definitely "yes" - the violence is raw and in your face, the story is intriguing, and the smorgasbord of famous male actors makes for a fun ride. Did it make me feel anything? Nope. And that's actually a shame because there was so much there to work with, but instead I left with the sense that everyone involved decided to sit back, tap into their inner nihilist, and get down to killing.

Reeves plays Detective Tom Ludlow, a man who's having a hard time and numbs whatever pain haunts him with a lot of alcohol. He also has zero regard for the "law" part of "law enforcement," and seems to break all the rules those lawyers on Law & Order are always concerned with, lest their cases get thrown out on a technicality. He doesn't necessarily take pleasure in blowing people's brains out once he's determined they're wrong, but he definitely doesn't show restraint either. In other words, the man's a live wire. And this is the guy who ends up being the moral center of a universe full of some very corrupt people.

Those people include, well, just about everyone in the film. Once Ludlow begins to yank at a string he's been repeatedly warned against yanking by his boss, the ambitious Captain Jack Wander (Forest Whitaker), it becomes clear that an entire division of L.A.'s finest are dirty. Thus, Ludlow starts heading down a trail into some of L.A.'s harshest neighborhoods and the dens of some extremely bloodthirsty villains.

The movie relentlessly strives for realism with each violent act, and bookends each one with the kind of machismo dialogue you can't help but roll your eyes at. Similarly, anytime a character waxes poetic about the nature of good and evil or the seductive influence of power and greed, it's delivered in such oversimplified prose that you might find yourself screaming "No duh!" at the screen. The best parts about the movie are the unexpected and talented performances that pop up, like Hugh Laurie as a salty captain, Cedric the Entertainer who's totally convincing as a thug, and Common who, with the delivery of no more than three lines, perfectly embodies pure evil.

If you don't require a little nuance with your bloodbaths, you might have fun. Otherwise it's a frustratingly dumbed-down experience.

Maui Fever For a Good Cause

This weekend a bunch of celebs found a reason to head to Hawaii for more than just a vacation. The opening of Duo at the fabulous Four Seasons was also a charity event for Maui Food Bank’s Kids Cafe. The adorable Alyson Hannigan was seen with Amanda Bynes (oh Amanda what is this new look you are sporting? Where's the cute girl we love?). Kate Bosworth looked great next to Christina Applegate and it looks like it was a Sex and the City reunion for the men. There are still rumors of a movie version but we can hardly see Carrie ending up with either of these guys.

Great TV Engagements: "Sex and the City"

Every day this week, in honor of Engagement Week on the Sugar Network, I'll be featuring one of my favorite great TV engagements, for better or for worse.

I thought I'd kick things off with a modern classic: when Aidan proposes to Carrie in "Just Say Yes" on the fourth season of HBO's "Sex and the City."

As the episode begins, Carrie is panicking after accidentally discovering a ring in Aidan's bag. Not only is she unsure about getting married, but she also happens to think the ring is hideous.
