Kate Winslet Hates Nude Scenes

Kate Winslet is one of the classier actresses out there these days. She is also one of the few not starving herself for roles even when she always seems to have sex scenes. She admits she hates them. Kate said, “When you get up in the morning and you know you are going to have to go to work and take your clothes off it’s the worst day of your life. You feel awful. You feel sick. And you remind yourself you must never agree to do this again.” However, Kate admits that sometimes the roles are too good to turn down just because she has to go nude. Here's more:

"Before I read the script I didn't want to do any more sex scenes," Kate told me. "Every time I do a nude scene, I think 'That's it now!' because it's so painful and scary, and I think: 'Why does it keep happening to me?'"

Then she laughed and added, in explanation: "I've had two children, I'm 31 and I can't keep getting away with this - then I find myself doing it all over again and I don't know why.

"But it comes down to being given these incredible opportunities to play these inspiring, challenging roles that just so happen to involve getting your kit off!"

Leo Hits the Stores While Kate Winslet Talks Sex Scenes

Leonardo DiCaprio had a boys' day with Lukas Haas and Rick Salomon, hitting up the Prada store. While Lukas is Leo's constant companion, his other good friend and co-star Kate Winslet recently talked about what it was like to get back to work with him on the set of Revolutionary Road. When asked about doing a sex scene with her husband directing, she said, "I just kept saying, 'This is too . . . weird.' And Leo was like, 'Oh, get over it.' And I'm going, 'Yeah, a little reminder: You're my best friend. He's my husband. This is a bit weird.'" Kate also said that she and Leo quickly found their Titantic chemistry again, so we'll look forward to seeing the BFFs reunited on the big screen in January.

Kate Winslet's Husband Keeps Things Exciting With Leo

Kate Winslet glows on the latest cover of Parade Magazine and brings her refreshing candor to the interview as she promotes Revolutionary Road. Kate opened up about what it was like working with Leonardo DiCaprio after all of these years and how her husband helped keep their chemistry natural. Here are some highlights:

On working with her husband and Leo: "Sam would try to surprise me or surprise Leo when we were doing scenes together, and because Leo and I do have sort of an almost telepathic connection, because we've known each other for such a long time and have remained friends consistently over all of these years, I know how Leo thinks, I know how he works, as he does with me. Sometimes, in order to just twist the scene around, Sam would quietly say to Leo, 'Just surprise her; try this thing.' Or he would come to me and say, 'Try this -- don't tell him you're going to do it.' So he would have to do that, so that Leo and I were able to keep it fresh and alive."
On how she and Leo have aged onscreen: "I’m like, ‘Yes, damn it! Look at those foreheads move!' I mean, he has this amazing furrow here"-she points to a spot between her eyebrows-"which wasn’t as prominent then, and this"-Winslet points to the wrinkles on her own forehead-"is much more prominent in me now. I just love seeing those things. I am enjoying my face changing, as well as realizing that at the same time, as you get older, the machine isn’t as well-oiled as it was."
On Halle Berry's recently saying, "Kate Wins-let is always naked, sitting on a toilet, or running buck naked. She’s free. I want to be the kind of actress who can really be comfortable with my body like that.”: “Oh! That’s so amazing. That is worth the pain! I am thrilled to hear someone like Halle say something like that. But what I would want to say to her is, ‘Well, you can,’ because all I do is say, ‘I don’t give a ____!’”

We can't wait to see if the chemistry is still there between Kate and Leo but considering the talent between those two, we can count on a fabulous film.

Kate Winslet Glows Live From the Press Room!

After a long, winning award season, Kate Winslet finally got her Best Actress Oscar statue tonight. After her sincere and heartwarming speech, we were lucky enough to hear even more from Kate in the press room about finally achieving her dream.

On retiring her own nude scenes and who she wants to "pass the torch" to: This is the one time I feel like reaching for my publicist. . . [ pause] I’m going to go for a woman and be really controversial - Susan Sarandon.
On dreaming of this moment: A dream is a dream. When that dream starts to become a reality the nightmare doesn’t seem to kick in. I just always knew that it was a dream, was a fantasy that probably would never happen. It's only dawning on me now that I won an Oscar. It’s only starting to sink in. Right now actually. Oh my god.
On the win: Did you see my mom and dad? My mom won a pickled onion competition in their local pub just before Christmas and that was a big deal. The Evening Post sent me a picture of her holding up her jar. Well, Evening Post, here’s your next Winslet picture!
On choosing her dress: I thought it was really elegant. I thought my mom would think it's really pretty that’s why I wanted to wear it.
On Sam directing love scenes: To be honest, the very straightforward answer is that he’s used to it. He’d seen me naked before I even met him. The person who was very professional getting through the emotional moments during Revolutionary Road was Sam. I was pathetic. He would turn to me and say you’ve done this so many times before and I said yes, but you’re standing right there, isn’t it a little bit weird.

Leo Brings His Golden Smile to the Lakers

Leonardo DiCaprio sat with Lukas Haas to watch the Lakers defeat the Kings on Friday night. Leo has a lot to smile about this week with Revolutionary Road scoring four Golden Globe nominations including a Best Actor nod for Leo, which he celebrated by calling fellow nominee and good friend, Kevin Connolly. He recently sat down with Kate Winslet for an adorable interview with Entertainment Weekly and talked about their post-Titanic life, Academy awards and reuniting over a decade later. Here are some highlights:

On young stars like Robert Pattinson and Zac Efron gaining Hollywood fame so quickly: "That's the interesting thing about being an actor. You are also a public figure. Early on I made it my policy that a certain amount of publicity is good - you promote your job, you do your movie, you retain your private life, you don't divulge everything about yourself. And when I see younger actors getting a tremendous amount of publicity, I say to myself, Well, they've been given an unbelievable opportunity, and I hope they know within themselves that all that really matters at the end of the day is the work. All this noise and attention will absolutely deteriorate and there will be a new, fresh piece of meat for the media to focus on within less than a year's time. So what they should do at this moment is work their [butts] off to prove to the public and prove to themselves that they can absolutely have a long-term career."

On working with Kate again: "Over the years, I would find myself stopping and saying, 'I don't know if we should do this again.' And then I'd think, 'What are you, an idiot? Why wouldn't I want to work with the best actress of her generation? Am I going to be prejudiced against a project just because Kate's in it?' I think we both had been actively looking for something else to do together, but we fundamentally knew that we couldn't tread on any sort of similar territory."
Kate: "May I? [Reaching over and rubbing her finger over DiCaprio's nose] You've scratched the top of your nose! Oh, no, we're literally doing everything we said we wouldn't do."
Leo: "I know, this is a little too cute. It's like out of one of those -"
Kate: "Don't say it!"
Leo: "- one of those scenes from When Harry Met Sally... with the old couples. 'And I met her in the park in 1992! And she was...' 'Eating a hot dog!' 'And I was scratching my butt!'"
Kate: "Oh, my God, and look at me fussing over your face. I've literally turned into a combination of your mother, your sister, and, I don't know what, your wife!"
Leo on Fame, Post-Titanic: "You never get used to it. Post-Titanic, it was more intense than anyone our age has ever dealt with in the history of...anything. It was the modern era of media and paparazzi where they're organized, with multiple SUVs following you around. I didn't know it would at the time, but it has way calmed down in my life.... By the way, I really hate talking about post-Titanic because it always sounds to me in print like I'm complaining when I have nothing to complain about. That movie gave both of us tremendous opportunities for what we wanted to do as actors."

It'll be exciting to see these two back on the big screen and even more fun to see them walk down the red carpet for the Golden Globes in January.

Kate Winslet Wraps Up Warm In New York's Wintery Weather

Kate Winslet was out and about in the West Village in New York City this week, looking stylish as she wrapped up warm against the cold weather. Kate is the striking cover star for Elle magazine this month, and she spilled the beans on how she keeps in shape for high stress nude scenes. Kate said:

"There are two things I've never been offered: one is cocaine, the other is a body double. I am pretty average. I have cellulite, I don't go to the gym because I don't have time, but I do Pilates workout DVDs for 20 minutes or more everyday at home."

Down to earth Kate was always guaranteed to have a sensible shape up plan, and it's certainly working well for her, don't you think?

Oscar Worthy Gadgets: Revolutionary Road

Concluding this year's Oscar Worthy Gadgets series is a movie up for three Academy Award nominations, including best costume design, art direction, and Michael Shannon's nomination for his performance in a supporting role. Starring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio, Revolutionary Road takes us inside the lives of a couple who struggle with the mundane realities of living in a Connecticut suburb.

Because the movie is set during the mid-1950s, there were many vintage tech shots. We not only see the classic dial telephones in Frank's office (where he works on computer manuals), but when Frank and his female co-worker are out at a high-end restaurant, Frank is handed a retro phone to make a call - right from his table.

And who can forget the emotional scene near the end of the movie when Kate's character, April, uses the hanging wall phone to call her babysitter? It was simple yet powerful gadget placements like these that made me feel a part of this time period.

Critics' Choice Kate Talks to Dave Before Her Big Weekend

Kate Winslet glowed as she stopped by The Late Show yesterday to chat with Dave and continue promoting her movies. The actress laughed and talked about her cooking mishaps and how her father installed a pay phone in her house when she was growing up. Dave teased her about working on Revolutionary Road with Leonardo DiCaprio and her husband and Kate admitted there was an uncomfortable moment when they filmed an intimate scene - read Buzz's review of the movie here. She also said she's excited about the upcoming Golden Globes and we'll have to wait and see if she can keep her streak going after scoring a Critic's Choice Award last night.

This weekend Kate Winslet cemented the place of the one shoulder dress on the fashion radar by opting for that style of Yves Saint Laurent dress for the red carpet. It's a bit of a '80s style which has recently experienced a resurgence, particularly on the party scene.

From Preen to Versace, and from maxi to mini the style is everywhere and so easy to wear. The main problem you might face is finding an appropriate bra, but with so many different styles now on offer, you're sure to find one which is discrete!

I love the subtle toga style of this Acne knot dress (pictured, £160). The waist tie and loose skirt make the shape very flattering. Also, the corsage detail on this Oasis dress (a bargain at £10!) is great for a Spring party. Dresses with tulip skirts are much more flattering than straight body con styles.

After The Boys Are Back, Clive's Berlin Bound

The always dashing Clive Owen is in frosty London at the moment, shooting scenes for his new movie The Boys Are Back In Town. In the new year he's bound for Berlin as he will be joining Kate Winslet and Jude Law at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival. Known as the Berlinale, the festival will open on February 5 with the premiere of Clive's movie The International - a spy thriller in which he costars alongside new mum Naomi Watts. I can't wait to see more Clive on the big screen, can you?
