Black and white - such an obvious match but oh so powerful. Case in point, Keira Knightley dressed in Chanel Couture at The Young Victoria premiere in London. She proves that sometimes, simple equals special. There is no hint of fussiness in her ensemble, yet the boxy shoulders and tweed fabric make it appealing. Instead of carrying any old clutch, the actress opted for a black-satin bow, one that hangs beautifully.

The crème de la crème are showing up for Paris couture shows and that includes Keira Knightley at Chanel. Stay tuned for the glorious garb, but here's the Chanel devotee - with freshly blunted bangs - in a slim tweed skirt with red velvet trim, a sheer black top with brass buttons, and stacked black platform pumps. Love it or Hate it: Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley is in town this week to promote her latest movie The Duchess in which she stars as the first real style icon; the Duchess of Devonshire, Georgiana. Keira went for dinner last night at Scotts in a navy blue wrap top and chinos. Whilst I essentially love her outfit, I can't quite get over her choice of footwear. She appears to be wearing heeled slip-on black mules. What do you think of her ensemble?

Get Sandra Bullock's Oscars Hairstyle

I loved Sandra Bullock's hair at the 2010 Oscars. It just looked so sleek, with a hint of a retro wave, but still modern. The glossy chestnut colour also worked brilliantly with her makeup. It turns out Frederic Fekkai celebrity stylist Adir Abergel was behind her luscious locks for the event.

Adir is known for tending the hair of starlets from Sienna Miller, to Keira Knightley, Jennifer Garner, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Biel amongst others. For Sandra's hair Adir said he wanted to create a simple, straight sleek down-do with beautiful lines to compliment her dress, and he achieved just that! Preparation: Conditioned hair is very important for any sleek style, says Adir. Use a Fekkai Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, leaving the conditioner on for 15 minutes. Rinse and towel dry the hair.
The Parting: Part the hair in a deep side parting. Adir recommends following the arch of your brow to choose where to part your hair.
Blow Dry: Take a large round hairbrush and blow-dry the hair completely straight, making sure the roots are flat.
Finish: Spray hair with Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray on to two inch sections of hair from roots to the end and then use a flat iron to get a bone straight effect. To finish the look, take a large curling iron and lightly curl the ends of the hair for a gentle wave, tucking the fringe behind the ear. Adir added a final touch of gloss with Fekkai Coiff Ultra-Light Finishing Cream.

However, unlike fellow actor Anna Friel, Keira is playing down her wardrobe by wearing a very similar outfit every day. Her sheepskin Burberry coat is perfect for these freezing temperatures and I can't keep my eyes off her arm candy. Keira has been carrying a super cool understated satchel (£305) by Ally Capellino.
