Christmas Comes Early to London With Premiere and Lights

Stars of A Christmas Carol Jim Carrey, Colin Firth and Bob Hoskins literally lit up London last night at the world premiere of the film, which they combined with turning on the capital's Christmas lights! They were joined by Jenny McCarthy in a Holiday season appropriate red coat, as well as The Saturdays and The X Factor contestants, who were more popular than the film stars! Olly Murs, Joe McElderry, Danyl Johnson, Jamie Archer, Lloyd Daniels and John and Edward Grimes looked smart in their suits, while Stacey Solomon and Lucie Jones looked lovely in their frocks: FabUK has the lowdown on how to copy Lucie's style.

Jim Carrey also switched on Oxford Street's Christmas lights with Jason Donovan, and Peter Andre, The Saturdays and Taio Cruz performed for the crowds. Over at Regent Street, Colin Firth turned on the lights while Oliver!'s Jodie Pregner, the Noisettes and Daniel Merriweather took to the stage. Bob Hoskins did the honours over at St Paul's Cathedral, and was joined on stage by Little Boots, Faryl Smith and Spandau Ballet. Andrea Bocelli then led crowds to try to break the record for the world's biggest carol singing event. What a fun evening! Simon Gets Spooky with Celebs at Guess Gathering

Simon Webbe was looking spooky with some coloured contact lenses at a Guess party in London last night. What do you think of his Halloween look? He attended the gathering alongside George Lamb, Konnie Huq, Zoe Salmon and Martine McCutcheon, while Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her hubby Richard Jones took to the decks to entertain the partygoers! The X Factor's Brian Friedman and Sinitta also attended the party, as did The Dolly Rockers and gorgeous Noisettes singer Shingai Shoniwa - what fun!

Peaches, Meg, Kat, Kim and Sophie Celebrate Central Perk UK!

Peaches Geldof, Skins stars Kathryn and Megan Prescott, Kimberley Walsh and Sophie Ellis Bextor were among the celebs that showed up at a central London venue off Carnaby St last night to celebrate the release of a brand new 15th Anniversary Friends boxset featuring all the seasons plus extra features. To promote the release a fully stocked Central Perk coffee shop has opened for a limited time showing off some memorabilia from the show, but you'd better get there quick as it's only open until October 7! Sounds like fun, and the famous Friends fans all looked pretty pleased as they left the launch party last night - will you visit?

Gordon and Tana Get Famous Faces Together To Fundraise

Claridges Hotel was host to a star studded lineup of guests last night as Gordon and Tana Ramsay held a fundraising benefit in London. The couple attracted Prime Minister Gordon Brown to the benefit, along with his wife Sarah, brushing shoulders with musical couple Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Richard Jones. Sarah Ferguson wore basic black to the gathering, while Elizabeth Hurley looked beautiful in a white dress on Arun Nayer's arm. The happy host couple left at the end of the evening looking very pleased, and shared a quick kiss in the cab!

Ralph Lauren and Richard Branson hosted a party at Kensington Roof Gardens last night celebrating some of the biggest names in tennis. Sisters Venus and Serena Williams were the biggest attraction rocking pieces from Ralph Lauren's Spring '09 collection including sequined harem pants. Richard's daughter Holly was also present in a chic little white dress along with presenter Konnie Huq who wore a floral frock by the American designer. Russian tennis ace Elena Dementiva wore a metallic cowl neck gown from his black label, who do you think was the best dressed?

Emma Bunton and Peaches Celebrate Children's Champions

Host Emma Bunton was joined by lots of celebrities for the Children's Champions 2009 Awards at London's Grosvenor House last night. Peaches Geldof took time off from her Fashion Week jetsetting to attend the ceremony, which honours people who work with children. Danielle Lloyd also went floor-length and managed to smile, having revealed this week she was a victim of domestic violence. My girl Bella UK wants to know do you love or hate Danielle's colourful eye shadow? Bobbi Brown Book Brings Out London's Movers and Shakers

Last night in Mayfair, British socialites and celebrities such as Tamara Mellon of Jimmy Choo, Yasmin Le Bon and her daughter Amber Le Bon (who happens to be the face of the latest River Island campaign), TV actress Angela Griffin, presenter Konnie Huq and Nicky Clarke's fiancée Kelly Hoppen, gathered to celebrate the launch of Bobbi Brown's latest book called Makeup Manual.

The book, which I've actually had for several weeks now, contains a wealth of advice from the 25 year makeup veteran herself. It offers tips and tricks about tools, skin care and application techniques ranging from how to achieve her signature natural look, to TV, theatre and artsy high glamour makeup. I especially love the section about nutrition and how what you eat effects your skin. Also, at the end, there's a wonderful ten step makeup guide that anyone from novices to experts can appreciate.

Kate and Leo Revolutionise London

This weekend Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet were in town for the Revolutionary Road premiere in London's Leicester Square. Hot on the heels of her amazing Golden Globes success and two BAFTA nominations, Kate looked stunning in her skintight black dress as the Titanic twosome posed together on the red carpet. Leo said they'd been actively looking for a project to work on together since their first time teaming up onscreen, but nothing had appealed to them both until this book adaptation.

Other guests at last night's premiere included Dermot O'Leary, Konnie Huq, Sophie Ellis-Bextor and her hubby Richard Jones of The Feeling, Tim Vincent, Liz McLarnon and Nick Moran.

Hugh Gossips With Glamour, Premieres Australia in the UK

Following the world premiere of their new film in Australia last month, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman have taken Australia around the world, from New York City to Madrid, and last night they brought Baz Luhrmann's movie to London. The director himself also walked the red carpet in Leicester Square alongside Catherine Martin, and was joined by British celebs like Elton John, David Furnish, Twiggy and Konnie Huq. Do you plan to see it? You can check out video footage of the premiere and film after the jump. Hugh was accompanied by his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, who he's been telling British Glamour all about. He also discussed Australia during his interview, and opened up about his romantic side. Here are the highlights:

On falling for Deborra during his first starring role: "When I realised I had a crush on her I was mortified. Debs was a big star here, and it was my first gig. I thought, 'I've fallen in love with the leading lady and I'm sure everybody's laughing at me.' But we started off as great mates, and it's been a great foundation. I believe it's rare in life to have absolute certainty, but with Debs I knew straight away. It was a gift."
On whether Nicole has changed over the years: "We all change, but what Nicole always had was great poise. Working with her was a treat; she's courageous, bold, determined, one of the hardest-working actors out there, incredibly intelligent and very funny. And tall, which for a tall guy like me is refreshing! And I'm so happy for her now with her family life, it's fantastic, y'know? But really, in her centre, I don't think she's changed at all."

On whether kissing Nicole was bizarre because she's a good friend of his and Deborra's: "Let's face it, any kind of making out in front of 70 people is bizarre, so it's just another twist! But Nicole is such an upfront person, she'd come to me and say, 'Let's talk about this, how are we gonna approach it?' So it was as easy as it could've gone."
On what effect he hopes "Australia" will have: "There's a great line my character says. He says: 'In the end the only thing you really have is your story. And I'm just trying to make mine a good one.' That's something I've lived by for a long time. When things go to sh*t, the only thing that matters is that you're with the people you love. Forget society's rules, forget 'I should've done this, that...' - if you're with the people you love, you'll make it though everything".
On whether he's a true romantic: "Yeah, I am, no doubt about it. In fact, Debs says I'm the most romantic man in the world. Feel free to quote her on that!"
