I've already told you my feelings about seeing some fresh faces in adverts for 2010, and it looks like my wish has come true! Get excited because the new year not only brings a whole slew of exciting makeup, skincare, nail polishes, haircare items and fragrances, but there will also be new celebrities posing as models for some of the world's most famous beauty brands.
We've recently heard about Julia Roberts signing with Lancôme, model of the year, Georgia May Jagger has joined the ranks of Rimmel, Cindy Lauper and Lady Gaga will be the new faces of the MAC AIDS Fund, my fingers are crossed about the possibility of Kate Moss collaborating on two new hair and makeup lines and Beyonce is creating her first fragrance.

For this holiday, Lancôme's makeup collection, dubbed L'Absolu Rouge Soirée, features shades of red, plum, and brown. What I like most about this seasonally appropriate set is that the colors are very rich, long-lasting, and not too over-the-top holiday. In other words, you'll still be wearing these shades well beyond Jan.

If any brand is into shaking things up — literally — it's Lancôme. After last year's successful debut of Ôscillation mascara, the brand has recently rolled out Ôscillation Powerfoundation ($48), a vibrating mineral foundation whose applicator vibrates 7,000 times per minute. The idea is that these microvibrations make for a smoother and more even finish, all while creating softer skin over time.

Pretty Woman Julia Roberts is getting a new role: the new face of Lancôme. Joining the ranks of Anne Hathaway and Kate Winslet, as the brand's newest "global ambassadress," Julia will undoubtedly pop up in print and television advertising.
Initially, I was a little bit surprised by this news nugget; after all, Julia hasn't been in the public eye nearly as much in recent years because she's busy raising a family.

Get excited, because the early launch of Holiday and Spring collections means that a pop of colour will finally be coming back into the universe again. I realize that Winter has just begun, but I'm already ready for a change in this drab, dark season. Alas, Chanel comes to the rescue with its gorgeous new Holiday Bird of Paradise Collection, and the star product is a four powder shadow quad (£34) designed by Peter Phillips to mimic the golden birdcage from Coco Chanel's apartment.

I'm loving Christina Ricci's makeup look from the recent Spike Scream Awards in LA, and lucky for us, we've got the scoop on the perfectly rosy lip gloss shade she wore as a stain while presenting the Breakout Male Performance award to Twilight's Taylor Lautner. It's from Lancôme's new lollipop-inspired La Collection Lollipop ($35 per kit). Each limited-edition gift set comes with a Color Fever Gloss — Christina wore Ma Cherie Cherry — and a Le Vernis nail polish.

People can't get enough of Chris Benz, and I have to say: his collection this season is dead sexy. I loved the soft, tousled curls he brought down the runway and the perfect peach (the color is everywhere for Spring, so watch out) lip on all his models. I've been dying to know how to get this look, especially the lipstick, and I was able to snag the scoop on the colors from the people over at Lancôme, who created this "refined '60s party girl" effect.

New for Autumn 2009 is the Lancôme Declaring Indigo Collection created by famed and funky makeup artist Aaron De Mey. It consists of fifteen new colours and two brushes with a definitive, bold and courageous yet wearable palettes of electric blues, golds and reds. It was inspired by Brigitte Bardot and Simpone de Beauvior, French women with a spirited and sexy, unconventional style.
