Get Christina Ricci's Rosy Lip Stain, Support a Good Cause

I'm loving Christina Ricci's makeup look from the recent Spike Scream Awards in LA, and lucky for us, we've got the scoop on the perfectly rosy lip gloss shade she wore as a stain while presenting the Breakout Male Performance award to Twilight's Taylor Lautner. It's from Lancôme's new lollipop-inspired La Collection Lollipop ($35 per kit). Each limited-edition gift set comes with a Color Fever Gloss - Christina wore Ma Cherie Cherry - and a Le Vernis nail polish. Five dollars from each sale goes to the Anne Hathaway-backed Lollipop Theater Network, a nonprofit that organizes film viewings for very ill children and teenagers. How-To: Get the Pretty, Peachy Look From Chris Benz's Fashion Week Show

People can't get enough of Chris Benz, and I have to say: his collection this season is dead sexy. I loved the soft, tousled curls he brought down the runway and the perfect peach (the color is everywhere for Spring, so watch out) lip on all his models. I've been dying to know how to get this look, especially the lipstick, and I was able to snag the scoop on the colors from the people over at Lancôme, who created this "refined '60s party girl" effect. It's actually really simple to do, and it's a runway style that definitely translates to everyday wear.

Declaring Indigo Totally Blue Me Away

New for Autumn 2009 is the Lancôme Declaring Indigo Collection created by famed and funky makeup artist Aaron De Mey. It consists of fifteen new colours and two brushes with a definitive, bold and courageous yet wearable palettes of electric blues, golds and reds. It was inspired by Brigitte Bardot and Simpone de Beauvior, French women with a spirited and sexy, unconventional style. According to a press release, De Mey said,

"My favorite colors are pure, saturated, powerful shades that work fabulously on their own. The colors I chose for the collection, indigo and red, are intense, primary colors, emblems of Paris and the French Revolution. I will always remain faithful to the colour gold for its brilliant shine and ability to bring an elegant, illuminating touch to make-up."

I’ve been playing with the line for about a couple of weeks now and the two products I’m most excited about are the Palette Libertè in Indigo Royautè (£35), a crazy cool powder shadow quad comprised of two golds (one pale and sparkly and the other a deeper bronze), a metallic blue and another bright blue shade enhanced with gold flecks. The other compact I'm kvelling over is an insanely illuminating face and body powder called Rose Libertè. Whilst at first glance it looks intimidating, it happens to create a beautiful and gentle (I promise) glow.

Ink Artliner in Black Carbon Ink: (£19) is a waterproof, smudge-proof cream liner that comes in a cool frosted jar. There's also a new eyeliner brush (£15) to go along with it that was specifically designed by De Mey to help create a more precise line.
Le Vernis in Pure Gold, Indigo Paris, Rouge Panthère: (£14 each) are the three new nail varnishes for Autumn. The two most noteworthy shades are Indigo Paris (bright blue metallic) and Pure Gold (a medium, super glossy, super shimmery gold). The last shade, Rouge Panthère is a fiery crimson older shade of red that has been brought back just for this collection.
Color Fever Matte Lipstick in Red Avant-Garde, Red Paris and Red Libertine: (£17.50 each) are comfortable matte lipsticks thanks to jojoba oil, a true feat in the matte world as some matte lipsticks feel slightly chalky and dry. The three colours are all versions on bold reds, that can be worn alone or blended with a high-shine gloss.
Color Fever Gloss in Pure Gold and Aaron's Red: (£17) are incredible. I love the gold shade as it's so universal and can be worn with virtually any lipstick. The red shade is transparent and gives lips a fullness and liveliness without overpowering them.
Crayon Khôl in Pure Gold and Indigo Paris: (£14.50 each) are two new gold and deep blue eyeliner pencils. The smooth and long-wearabiity makes these a must-have.
Virtuôse Mascara: (£19.50 each) has gotten a little bit of a revamp. This new shade is a gold-sequined indigo topcoat that also curls and lengthens like the original.
Palette Liberté in Indigo Royautè: (£35) is the blue and gold four shadow palette I told you about above also comes packaged in a beautiful white gold case adorned with the signature Lancôme roses printed into the metal.
Palette Liberté in Liberté: (£35) is another powder shadow quad containing a gold shade a black colour with gold sparkles, a medium brown colour and a bone colour. This palette is perfect for any gal any time of the year.
La Rose Liberté: (£32) is a gold powder palette embossed with a gold rose on the top layer. It can be worn as highlighter on our eyes, cheeks or body to a special joueur de vivre. The new Powder Brush (£25) that goes with it is angled, fluffy and feels like heaven on your skin.

Lipstick Packaging Doesn't Matter - Except When It Does

When you buy a beauty product, much of your money goes to the costs of marketing and fancy packaging. It's just how it is, which is why I don't go for design alone in most cases. For some items, I don't care about aesthetics - it's not like my eye makeup remover has to be in a stunning bottle. And I don't care as much about eye shadow containers as I do about the product inside. But lipstick - lipstick is different. There's something pleasing about pulling out a well-designed tube, feeling the lipstick swivel up smoothly, and applying it like a sultry dame in a film noir.

So when I want to splurge on a lipstick, I go for either Lancome L'Absolu Rouge ($29) or Chanel Rouge Allure ($30). Both are softly scented, both go on like buttah, and both have packaging that is a pleasure to play with. Lancome's lipstick closes with a gentle magnetic click, and Chanel's sleek case has a cool push-button open/close mechanism. And while technically, these packaging details shouldn't matter, they make lipstick application a lot more fun. Do you have a favorite kind of tube?

Take a Peek at the Trendiest Nail Polish Collections For Fall

As far as Fall nail polish trends are concerned, I foresee lots of hot pinks, mushroom tones, smoky metallics, burnt oranges, deep, intense greens, and the return of purple - but with a little less smoke and a little more attitude. As far as textures go, think mattes, creams, and brushed, velvety finishes. But, if you're a fan of the shimmer, don't fret. There's plenty of sparkle to go around. Like most makeup collections, nail polish colors take inspiration straight from the runways, and since nails are a fashion accessory, after all, many of these recently launched polish shades come straight to us from the Fall catwalks. Let's just say I'm not bored.

I'm pretty picky when it comes to self tanners. I like to make it look as though I'm glowing from within and have a light bronzey tone my skin tone as opposed to pasty, white and lifeless. This means that if a tanning product even remotely streaks or makes me look yellow or orange, it gets binned immediately. I tend to go for products for fair to light skin tones that build to a natural looking tan. My favourites (along with a little input from my buddy FabSugar UK) are listed below. The two of us have been switching off between these body bronzers for the past few weeks and are finally ready to share our reviews with you!

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer (£7.49) goes on smooth and doesn't streak. A little goes a long way too, so the tube will last you a good part of the summer. It comes in three shades fair, medium and medium/tan and has a sweet, non-offensive scent.
Dove Energy Glow Beauty Body Lotion with Self Tanner (£7.38) is heavenly to apply due to its rich consistency. The smell is one of the best as it's light and floral. Also, because it produces a natural looking tan so gradually, it's difficult to mess it up!

Lancôme Flash Bronzer Anti-Age Golden (£22.50) gives you a gorgeous looking glow, plus an even tan. The formula also includes firming and anti-ageing properties to keep your skin soft, nourished and hydrated while you tan safely without the sun.
Johnson and Johnson Holiday Skin Medium Tan Body Lotion (£6.50) generates a gradual, gentle-looking tan, when applied evenly. The only drawback is the harsh scent, so I tend only to save this one for nighttime when I'm in the privacy of my own home.
Avon Skin So Soft Ultimate Body Moisturiser Soft and Glow SPF15 (£5) is what I decided to stick with even after I finished my testing period. I adore the subtle shimmer that it leaves on my skin, and a subtle light brown colour appears after three days of use. Also, it claims to tone and firm (I haven't really noticed that), however since it also has SPF 15 in the formula, I love how it saves me one extra prep step!

Get Emma Watson's Harry Potter Premiere Makeup Look

Despite the torrential rains at last night's UK Harry Potter Premiere, Emma Watson glowed like a sparkling ray of sunshine. She stood under an over-sized translucent brolly wearing a vintage Ossie Clarke gown and minimal jewels. She was smart to wear her hair up (get her hairstyle here) to avoid frizz, however, her makeup remained in tact all evening long.

Whilst I only officially know that her makeup artist used Lancome Oscillation Mascara in Black Motion as a finishing touch (apparently Emma swears by it), I've studied her look and have drummed up product recommendations for you to re-create at home.

EYES: Apply a creamy pale beige shadow such as Gosh Waterproof Eye Shadow in Love That Champagne all over the lid. Then, using a tapered shadow brush, blend a deep pink shade such as i.d. bareMinerals Eye Shadow in Shantung to the crease. Next, line the top of your eyes only with something like Benefit Waterproof Bad Gal Liner in Black. When it's dry, apply two coats of mascara, fill in your brows and as a finally dab a little bit of white shimmer to the inner v of your eyes.

FACE: To get Emma's youthful glow, you won't want to choose a light base with minimal coverage. Begin by adding a little bit of concealer (in a shade that's a few shades lighter that your skin) under your eyes, around your nose. Use your index finger gently blend. Next, smooth a tinted moisturser all over your skin like Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser in Nude followed with light dusting of a matching loose powder to help set the foundation.

CHEEKS: Now it's glow time. For this particular look I encourage you to use a medium rose cream blusher (I like No7 Blush Tint Cream Blush in Blossom). Start at the apples of your cheeks and blend outwards towards your hairline. Next, apply a sheen enhancing product like MAC Strobe Cream just above your blusher, to the bridge of your nose, your chin and in the center of your forehead.

LIPS: Finally it's time to concentrate of your pout. Emma has matched her blusher to her lipstick which It creates a simple and youthful effect, especially in her creamy matte, pink colour choice. Make sure lips are exfoliated and with a brush apply a shade such as Clinique Long Lasting Lipstick in Soft Bloom all over.

We've seen it with Tracy Reese and Sally Hansen, along with Emanuel Ungaro for MAC. And now, in the latest crop of makeup-inspired-by-runway collaborations, Lancôme's Pout-à-Porter lipstick is back. But this time, it's in the form of a name-that-shade contest.

Previously, designers Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Peter Som, and Thakoon have all partnered with Lancôme, with some wildly popular results. Next up? Add designer Chris Benz to the mix. His Spring 2010 collection will inspire the next Pout-à-Porter lipstick, which will debut on the pouts of runway models this September. Do you have a way with words? Beauty Byte: Maybelline Offers Vibrating Mascara To The Masses

Move over expensive designer cosmetics, the news is out that Maybelline is launching a vibrating mascara for about a third of the price! Define-A-Lash Pulse Perfection, will be available to the masses this July in the States and later on in the Summer in the UK.

Last year, the big news in mascara came first from Estée Lauder with the release of TurboLash. A few months later, Lancôme launched Ôscillation and recently, Prescriptives came out with Motor-Eyes. All of the items have sold so well that Lancôme is actually set to release a waterproof version next month. Maybelline however, wanted to be the first to create a competitive product that everyone could afford and enjoy.

Serena Giovi said,

"We are always researching what consumers want and we felt this was a great opportunity to bring a new technology and innovation to the marketplace. The vibration aims to mimic some of the best tricks women use when applying mascara, such as wiggling and zigzagging the mascara brush to achieve length and thickness. Pulse Perfection has been designed to deliver 7,000 vibrations per minute with each battery said to last for a minimum of 130 days."

From what I understand, the mascara is powered by a battery and it vibrates gently in a horizontal motion. The goal is for each hair to be coated from root to end, creating fuller and thicker lashes. Also, it will be available in two shades: very black and blackest black, and very black will also come in a waterproof version.
