Celebrities have become a designing powerhouse in their own right, and in 2007, more Fab faces joined the fray. Mary-Kate and Ashley added cool contemporary line Elizabeth and James; SJP launched the budget-friendly Bitten at Steve & Barry's; Gwen's little L.A.M.B. made a runway comeback; Lauren Conrad reached her dream of becoming a designer; and both Sienna Miller and Penelope Cruz teamed with their sisters to cull up some seriously sizzlin' clothes. Admittedly: some of them were hits and some were misses. You all know how much I look to Celebrity Style for inspiration, so here's to hoping 2008 brings just as many fun collaborations!

Fab Flash: Bad Weekend for Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad is a busy woman. As well as starring in The Hills she is also studying at FIDM and designs her own clothing range. However, this weekend rumours began to circulate that Ms Conrad doesn't actually design her own line. Celebrity clothing ranges are always subject to great scrutiny from the public and press and hers is no exception with claims the clothes are designed by unknown designer Sherry Wood.

Lauren has denied the accusations stating, "I've been involved in this entire process, every single step of the way. I have wanted to be a fashion designer since I was a little girl." Today she received another blow as LA boutique Kitson have decided to drop her range from their store. Never one to shy away from publicity, the store claims this is due to poor sales.

Lauren's people have dismissed all the rumours saying, “The line is doing amazing and is in 500 stores around the country including Bloomingdale’s. Lauren is absolutely the designer.”

Fab Flash: Lauren Conrad Clothing Line Is Suspended

It's all change for Lauren Conrad this year as she finishes shooting her final series of The Hills.

Yesterday it was announced that this wasn't the only thing coming to an end as her clothing line grinds to a halt. Lauren has been designing under her own name since Autumn 2007, but it seems the economic climate has affected its production. A source explained,

"Lauren is going to revamp her line and design with more high-end fabrics . . . things she couldn't do the first time around. With everything going on in the economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings. She will make announcements soon."

This comes with immediate effect as planned deliveries of her Spring line have been cancelled. Are you sad to hear this, or not surprised?

Let Lauren Conrad Dress You

Even though we're missing her on The Hills, Lauren Conrad is keeping busy. Last week the reality star launched her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's line in LA. The affordable "California-inspired" line is filled with cute separates like jeans and knit tops but there are also a few pieces that would look great in a yoga and Pilates studio too. These pieces are on sale now and we're loving how affordable the prices are - nothing shown here is over $25!

I am thinking the tank and leggings would look lovely on a Pilates Reformer layered with either shirt for walking to and from class. What about you?

Lauren's Friendship Services May Be Needed Off Camera

Lauren Conrad wore pigtail braids and workout clothes shopping at Intermix in LA on Thursday. Her new Kohl's line is wallet friendly, but that doesn't mean LC's taste is any less expensive as she picked up some goodies at the upscale boutique. Her wardrobe is always enviable, and she's talked about how happy she is to be able to wear whatever she wants after having some restrictions when she was on The Hills. Lauren's role on the show was always about being the good friend, and it sounds like Audrina might need someone to lean on at the moment - she just broke up with Corey Bohan again.

The Hills Stars Talk Wedding and Sex Tape Rumors at PaleyFest

The cast of The Hills, including Whitney Port, took the stage at PaleyFest yesterday to talk about what's coming up for the rest of the season. For now Lauren Conrad is still all about the show that made her so famous, but she's already busy with all of her other projects including a new clothing line for Kohl's and her upcoming Family Guy episode - sneak peek after the jump. At yesterday's panel she and her costars gave out a few spoilers, confirming Heidi and Spencer's wedding and finally getting closure on the LC sex tape rumors. Here's more:

Lauren on whether Spencer made up the sex tape rumors: "We have it on tape that he [Spencer] takes responsibility for it. Sorry. Spoiler!"
Brody on Lauren leaving the show: "The Hills is Lauren. If it goes, yes, I would be a part of it. Hopefully, Lauren would come back somehow. It may die with Lauren; it may not."
Stephanie on Spencer and Heidi's wedding: "I don't think Spencer is allowed to have a bachelor party. Holly and I are throwing around the idea of having a bridal shower before . . . I just hope no one objects [at the wedding]."

Lauren also confirmed she will not be attending wedding, although it sounds like a lot of the cast will be there as well as, of course, the camera crew getting it all on tape for The Hills.

LC Explains the Story Behind Her Iconic Braid

Lauren Conrad is known for a lot of things: her stint on The Hills, her clothing line, and her contract with Mark cosmetics. And when it comes to her look, it's hard to picture her without a sweet side braid.

PopSugar caught up with LC and Lo this past weekend, and among other things - including a little Pattinson talk, swoon - they chatted about Lauren's hairstyle. "I've gone a little overkill with the braid," she admitted. "I cut my own bangs, so I have to braid it back a lot. I have weird Girl, Interrupted bangs going on." Not sure if they're weird, per se, but they're certainly trend-setting - and just another trick to add to the list of ways to grow out your bangs.

On Friday, the rumor surfaced that Lauren Conrad doesn't have as much to do with the design process on her clothing line as she claims and that someone else has been doing the work LC takes credit for. Lauren was quick to respond saying,

"I've been involved in this entire process, every single step of the way. I have wanted to be a fashion designer since I was a little girl. I grew up designing and sewing dresses for my barbie dolls, and the Lauren Conrad Collection has been my dream come true."

LC talked to us about how much the line means to her. Plus, we've all seen her taking promoting the line very seriously and going to fashion school on The Hills, but rumors are rumors. So, do you believe Lauren Conrad about being involved with every step of her clothing line?
