This Just In! Lauren Conrad Dishes About Her Emmy Dress Design

One dress we're eagerly anticipating this Sunday at the Primetime Emmy Awards won't be on the red carpet, but rather on stage. In case you didn't get the memo, Lauren Conrad's designing the dress for this year's trophy girls, and we've got more details.

In a recent ET online interview, The Hills star dishes on her creation. "I did green because green [is the] theme for the Emmys this year," said Conrad, who also mentions using a diamond brooch, signifying the Emmy's 60th anniversary, to accessorize the gown.

The new author will also wear her own design to the event. Her dress will be the same green fabric as the trophy girls', with diamond jewels kept to a minimum. Coincidence? I think not.

Who Wore It Better? Roberto Cavalli Silk Floral Maxi

This dress was absolutely stunning on the Spring Cavalli runway so it's no surprise Hollywood's youth are all over it, or rather, all in it. Mischa wore a heavier floral version with a hippie headband at Cannes in May, Juliette Lewis standing by. And Lauren Conrad wore hers on the beach for The Hills premiere party. The big difference is the hair styles, other than that the elegant boho dress suits both laid-back attitudes. You tell me - who wore it better?

Sneak Peek! More California Casuals From Lauren Conrad's Spring '08 Collection

The first batch of Lauren Conrad's Spring '08 collection was rather simple, but the reality star has added new and more interesting pieces. This collection, named Bella, includes a jersey maxi dress (left), a fun full skirt, and a handful of Dolly-print frocks. I admit that LC's designs aren't anything groundbreaking, but they're good for gals who like loose-fitting, comfy fashions.

Oh and I guess this is an appropriate time to tell you that I'll be attending The Lauren Conrad Collection Fall '08 runway show at LA Fashion Week next week! I'm really excited to see what LC will bring us for autumn. Stay tuned . . .

Who Wore It Better? Dolce & Gabbana Bustier Dress

Khloe Kardashian celebrated her birthday in style wearing a sexy Dolce & Gabbana bustier dress in Las Vegas with family and friends. Along with some wild hair, the reality star accessorized with large hoop earrings and chunky black heels. Lauren Conrad was spotted in the same dress at the premiere of The Dark Knight in NYC but opted to keep it simple in a pair of black peep-toe Louboutins, stacked bracelets, and her favorite "Lauren" name tag ring. Each gave off a different vibe in the stunning frock; which look do you prefer?

The Look for Less: Geren Ford Silk Ruffle Dress

When I saw Lauren Conrad in this Geren Ford Ruffle Dress ($207, originally $345), I knew I had to have it. I heart the flirty ruffles and the light silk texture is perfect for the summertime heat. Since she's a star, and I'm not (boo), I'd like to find something more in my price range.

Bingo! This Ruffled Silk Shift Dress ($35) is practically identical to Geren Ford's but without the expensive price. It's black instead of red, but I'm not complaining. Done and done.

Lauren Conrad is giving off a sassy '70s vibe and I like it. Her multi-colored chiffon maxi, which looks to be from an up and coming collection from her own line, goes perfectly with her braided hair. She smartly cinched in the voluminous dress with a skinny brown belt to give herself some shape. What a clever girl! Are you feeling her look?

Lauren Tends to Her Garden Before Playing Games

Lauren Conrad stopped to grab lunch before hitting up Home Depot for garden supplies yesterday, twittering about her green thumb on her way out. Later in the evening she got dressed up for the Assassins Creed II video-game launch with her friends and former Hills costars Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt. LC is also working hard on the sequel to her bestselling LA Candy - which could make a perfect addition to your holiday wish list - and relayed her excitement about the cover art for book number two which will hit the shelves next year.

Despite all the drama on The Hills, Lauren Conrad looks like she's having the time of her life on many a red carpet. At the Sony VAIO party in NYC, the reality star wore a stunning midnight blue beaded dress by Haute Hippie. Check out the price tag on that thing. It's mighty short, but she has nice legs so it works.
