We first saw LC sporting this sleek, ultrastraight ponytail at her LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl's line in Los Angeles on Thursday night, and on Saturday, Lo wore her hair a strikingly similar way to her birthday bash at Club Liv in Miami. Lauren Conrad wore a dark brown wig for a photo shoot in LA on Friday. It was a dramatic change from her usual blond braided hairstyle, and she twittered about how fun it was to dress up. By Saturday, she was back to her iconic look as she grabbed dinner with Kyle Howard at Pizza Al Forno. Lauren is finished with her time on-screen for The Hills, but she still always has to be camera-ready as she gets ready to kick off her book tour soon.

LC Explains the Story Behind Her Iconic Braid

Lauren Conrad is known for a lot of things: her stint on The Hills, her clothing line, and her contract with Mark cosmetics. And when it comes to her look, it's hard to picture her without a sweet side braid.

PopSugar caught up with LC and Lo this past weekend, and among other things - including a little Pattinson talk, swoon - they chatted about Lauren's hairstyle. "I've gone a little overkill with the braid," she admitted. "I cut my own bangs, so I have to braid it back a lot. I have weird Girl, Interrupted bangs going on." Not sure if they're weird, per se, but they're certainly trend-setting - and just another trick to add to the list of ways to grow out your bangs.

Trend Alert: Makin' Waves At The 2009 MTV Movie Awards

On Sunday night, Hollywood's 'it' girls dazzled in stylish, on-trend outfits and amazing hair and makeup. After looking at all of the photos from the event, I noticed that most of the women wore their hair parted in the centre with loose waves - a look that's been a red carpet staple for the past few years. Whilst Lauren Conrad added in her own special plait and Vanessa Hudgens had heavy fringe, overall, the hairstyle is our modern, undone version of 1940's structured waves and carefully crafted pin curls.

Love It or Hate It? Zöe Salmon's Double Plaits

Last night at the Digital Spy Reality TV Awards in London, Irish TV presenter Zöe Salmon arrived with her hair styled half up, half down and two plaits around the crown. I love this Grecian-inspired look as an idea for days when you don't feel like washing your hair. The plaits act like an Alice band (a perfect solution to avoid fighting with uncooperative fringe), and pulling the sides off back is easy to acheive. We've seen so many different plait hairdo's from celebrities lately, with Lauren Conrad having a special affinity for them, so I think it's great to have one more version to play around with. LC Greets Her Fans Before Getting Back to Season 4 Drama

Lauren Conrad signed autographs outside of Crown Bar in West Hollywood last night with BFF Lo right by her side. Even Hills co-star and ex - with his own show on the way - Brody showed up to hang out with the girls. Lauren sported those summer braids she loves so much, and from the looks of the season four trailer (after the jump) we'll be seeing a lot more of the hairstyle! Other exciting things to look forward to include Lauren's new boy toy, tension escalating between Audrina and Lo and of course more of the epic Lauren/Heidi duel. Sounds like the perfect cheesy drama to tide us over until August rolls around.

LC Puts Plenty of Fun Into Her Labor Day Weekend

It was another busy weekend in the Hollywood Hills for Lauren Conrad, who kicked things off on Friday with a hugworthy lunch with Whitney. After last night's episode, we have a feeling that Whitney has plenty to talk about, from NYC to her new man to her seemingly endless number of cool hairstyles. Lauren sported another trendy plaid shirt between chatting up Whitney and geeking out on her Blackberry, but Saturday she got a little fancier for dinner at Katsuya. This casual hairstyle (not to be mistaken for the classic loopy bun) has been seen on the likes of Kate Hudson, Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Garner this week alone. What was once regarded as a messy and unkempt updo is actually très chic nowadays. It's popular because of its practicality. It's a great way to get your hair off your face and neck for sports or just for a stroll during the hot Summer days.

Simply pull all of your hair back in a high ponytail. Before you loop a snag-less elastic around your hair for the second or third time (depending on how thick your hair is), do not pull hair all of the way through - only pull it halfway through. This will create a loose loop. If your hair is layered, pieces of hair should fall, as will any wisps or short bangs - which is what makes this style so relaxed.
