Here Comes the White House Correspondents Dinner!

Oh, man this has to be the hottest ticket in town. The special dinner where the press gets to roast the president? Especially one whose approval rating hit 28 percent today and it's his last year in office!? I'm dying, dying to go.

The whole tradition of the dinner started in 1924, when Calvin Coolidge became the first of 14 presidents to attend. Up until World War II, the dinner was an entertainment spectacle with singing between courses, a homemade movie (aw! how cute is that?!), and an hour-long, post dinner show with big-name performers.

This year is no exception. I suppose? Though the list this year doesn't feature Sinatra, (or Paula Jones and Matt Drudge like in this pic from 1998). Ben Affleck, Pamela Anderson, Eric Dane, Tim Daly, Hayden Panettiere, and Marcia Cross will all be there - and kind of inexplicably - Lauren Conrad from The Hills. Maybe LC and GWB are BFFs? Could happen.

The host this year is Scottish-born, now US citizen Craig Ferguson, who said of receiving the honor,

But I thought as soon as I become an American you know what is going to happen, I am going to get jury duty or the CIA. will get in touch and have me assassinate a foreign head of state. Anyway my first job as an American citizen I can exclusively reveal tonight is performing at the White House Correspondents Dinner weekend. I am doing it. I am doing it. I know! Anyway, I am not hosting it. President Bush is . . . I am thinking does he know I can't be kicked out now? Like it would be the
big thing have the dinner and my last act at president, you go home Ferguson. I am like I am home.

LC and Lo Take on Lacrosse

Lauren Conrad and Lauren Bosworth embraced their sportier sides for the National Pro Lacrosse Tour BBQ at the Sierra Mist Beach House in LA yesterday. The girls tried their hands at a little lax, but it looks like they felt more comfortable posing with their sticks in their swimsuit cover-ups. Lo gave us a peek at her two piece, but it's LC who is in the running for hottest bikini body of 2009 - be sure to vote in round one of our bracket now for a chance to win a new iPhone!

Lauren Conrad's Pad Is Up For Rent

I'm sure all of you Hills fans would kill to replace Audrina in Lauren Conrad's Spanish villa in the Hollywood flats. Well, something tells me that reality is not so far off. Conrad is renting out her 3,009-square-foot, four-bedroom, 3.5-bath home for $11,000 per month. Conrad and her BFF Lo Bosworth moved into a high-rise condo in the Westwood area of LA in favor of more security and privacy. I'm also guessing that Lauren's feud with her neighbors over the commotion of paparazzi and MTV crews at her digs might have motivated her to move elsewhere. Would you like to rent out Conrad's pad? I certainly would! I actually think it's sad that she's decided to move; it's such a cute house. To each her own, right?

This Just In: Lauren Conrad Quits the Hills, Geographically

Rumor has it that reality star slash fashion designer Lauren Conrad plans to leave her two bedroom Hollywood Hills rental, which she shares with Audrina Patridge, for a charming 3,009 square foot, three bedroom, two and a half bath Spanish style villa on the Hollywood flats just off Sunset Boulevard. Do you hear that? The Hollywood flats. The house was last listed at $2,495,000, but the final sale price is unknown. It features a detached guest house with an additional bedroom and bathroom, refinished hardwood floors, a custom kitchen with Lagos Azul counters and high-end appliances, Carrara marbled baths, a pool and yard, as well as original wrought iron work, moldings, antique light fixtures, and Spanish floor tiles. She is said to have been shopping for a house for a year now, and is set to move into her dream pad in six weeks or so. Of the mansion, a realtor source tells Page Six, "The house is beautiful inside and out, Lauren has found herself a gem. This area is so happening right now." What do you think? LC Joins Her Hills Girls in Real Life, Not on Screen

Lauren Conrad went to Mi-6 in LA last night to celebrate Lo Bosworth's 23rd birthday, while the first post-LC episode of The Hills aired. Elsewhere in the city, new narrator Kristin Cavallari arrived at a Unite fashion event. Most of you didn't think Kristin would liven things up, but she dove right into the drama on the show by fighting Audrina over Justin Bobby. Meanwhile, Spencer aggressively put a down payment on a house without Heidi's consent. There was also the usual dose of beauty, food, gadgets, and style as the cameras rolled on the well-paid stars. Meanwhile, Lauren's doing great as she moves on - her LA Candy was picked up for a movie deal, just as she hinted to us earlier this month.

DVD Review: 10 Minute Solution KnockOut Body

Famous ladies like Lauren Conrad, Jenna Fischer, and Adriana Lima swear that boxing is a great way to get in shape without getting bored. I concur with their assessments after working out with 10 Minute Solution KnockOut Body Workout Kit with Weighted Gloves ($22). As with the other 10 Minute Solution DVDs, the video is broken up into five, 10-minute workouts that can be done separately, all at once, or you can customize by pairing two or three workouts. I chose to do all of them together and found myself glistening with sweat by the end.

While I enjoyed all of the segments, the Fat Attack and Kickbox Cross Train sections were my favorite, and I wore the provided weighted gloves for extra challenge. The workouts are designed to get your heart rate up with punching, kicking, jumping, and sculpting moves. Both segments incorporate varieties of lunges, and the Kickbox Cross Train is particularly appealing for those looking to spice up typical gym moves. The coach, Jessica Smith, takes you through exercises like squats into overhead tricep extensions with an added heel lift, and reverse lunges into backwards kicks.

The 50-minutes flew by and I had a blast. It provides an intermediate level workout, so I wouldn't rely on it for your sole source of cardio, but it will definitely get your heart rate up and burn some calories. I know I'll be popping this video in on days that I just don't feel like leaving the house to work out. To see a clip of the DVD, read more.

Lauren's Life Is as Sweet as Candy

Lauren Conrad and Kyle Howard held hands as they walked into a Havaiana's and Details magazine party at My House in LA last night - get her look here. Lauren's man was the guest of honor, but she was more interested in talking about Audrina's new guy Chris Pine, saying, "He is a really cute guy, and I'm happy for her." That's not LC's only reason to smile - LA Candy is being released on June 16 and Teen Vogue has a sneak peek at her novel. She can also look forward to the end of her dramatic days on The Hills with Monday's season finale.

Lauren and Heidi's Teary Post-Fashion Show Reunion!

Lauren Conrad debuted her Spring 2009 line to a very packed house as part of LA Fashion Week last night. Lo Bosworth, Kyle Howard, and Jason Wahler were all in the front row, though it looks like Audrina Patridge didn't make it. Whitney Port is in NYC shooting her new show. The biggest story of the night, however, is what happened at the afterparty. Everyone followed LC to STK to keep celebrating, and who just so happened to unknowingly arrive for a drink? Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. Apparently Heidi made the first move to go congratulate Lauren on the show, and the two had a talk that involved tears and hugs from both sides. Afterward, even Spencer had kind words for LC. Today, Lauren confirmed the reunion saying how nice it was of Heidi. We'll see whether this is the start of a real reconciliation between Lauren and Heidi, but for now it looks like that hinted at truce between the feuding best friends.
