Most women either love Jane Austen's novels, or have a girlfriend in their lives who does. What lady doesn't go weak in the knees at the thought of Mr. Darcy?
If one of those Austen-adoring ladies you know and love has recently gotten engaged, why not treat her to a fabulously witty Jane Austen engagement card?

For a perfectly pretty and elegantly grownup way to tell your valentine your feelings, check out this selection of letterpress, gocco, and all-around lovely Valentine's Day cards. Start things off on the right note with this You and Me Letterpress Card ($4), which was inspired by Kahlil Gibran's "On Marriage." I love how the words "you" and "me" join in the middle to form this heart.

Shopping for gifts is one of my favorite activities; I even prefer it to shopping for myself (probably because I'm too easy to please). Finding the ideal gift for a friend is a challenge that I really enjoy. So, when it comes to shopping from a wedding registry, I get kind of bummed.

Since most of my correspondence occurs via email, I want my notecards to be timeless and versatile. It's always nice to bring a smile to a friend's face with humor, but when I buy a box of notecards I want them to be appropriate for more than one person, and not to lose timeliness like the set you picked up at the Musée D'Orsay on your most recent trip to Paris might. B Designs Boxed Historic Patterns Notecards ($12 for six cards) fit the bill with their decorative floral and classic patterns with a contemporary color palette.

For all of those fashionistas in your life, there's no such thing as too many dresses. That's why I recommend mailing them a sweet note on this Dress Form Card ($5) from Messenger Bird Press. They'll be thrilled to actually find something in their mailbox, and you can almost guarantee that upon your next visit, this card will be pinned to their inspiration board, along with other fabulous frocks torn from the pages of W and Vogue.

The Papered Together Father's Day Fish Letterpress Card ($4) might not read "Gone Fishin'," but it's perfect for any Dad who loves to be on the river. And even if your pops doesn't own fly-fishing overalls, but he likes to chow down on some poached halibut or fish tacos from time to time, it's still appropriate. What better way to tell Dad you love him than to celebrate his hobbies and eating habits!?
