Lindsay Lohan has taken on another international deal as the official ambassador of Visa Swap 2008. The fashion recycling program, held in London between June and July, asks people to donate their used, wearable clothes, shoes and bags. In exchange, donors will receive points, which they can use to buy other vintage clothing dropped off by other people.

"The idea of swapping clothes, getting something for nothing and refreshing your wardrobe appeals to everyone" said Lohan, who has donated two pairs of Jimmy Choos, an Issa dress, and a Miu Miu bag of her own to the cause. Now that's what I call a fashion incentive.

Lindsay Lohan has just been chosen as the new face of Italian brand Fornarina. With Lindsay on their side, the company has big plans to push its brand worldwide with flagship stores in London, Paris, and New York.

Scott Ronaldson, managing director of Fornari Retail, explains their reasoning for choosing the controversial celebrity stating, "Lindsay is that very self-confident, dynamic woman, she's got a lot of attitude. That's what we're hoping our customer will aspire to." Lohan, wearing Fornarina here, has also expressed interest in designing accessories for the brand. Really?

Lindsay Lohan is probably more famous for her tabloid exploits than her fashion credentials but everybody deserves a second chance! She appears to has turned over a new leaf as she lends a hand to ethical fashion. Lohan has been signed as the face of Visa Swap a pop-up shop where customers can swap their cast-off clothing items for others. The credit card company will open a store in Covent Garden in June with an ad campaign, starring Lohan in vintage clothing to be released in earlier in the month.

To be part of the project, customers donate unwanted clothing to the Covent Garden store over a period of 3 weeks beginning June 21, and then have the value of their clothing - in points - put onto a Visa card. Then during the weekend of 19th July customers can exchange the value of the points on their cards for other items. Any items that are left unsold will be donated to TRAID.

Ungaro CEO Defends Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan's career at Ungaro got off to a rocky start when her first catwalk collection received bad reviews. Emanuel Ungaro himself even spoke out against the celebrity designer saying the "collaboration was a disaster". The fashion world was in shock yesterday when Lindsay was confirmed to be remaining as the artistic advisor.

The CEO of Ungaro Mounir Moufarrige has since defended his decision explaining, "Fashion is controversial, and you need some novelties and you need to test some new ideas," adding that he is happy with his "walking, talking advertisement".

Although sales have been slow and both Net-a-Porter and Neiman Marcus have dropped the label for the Spring season, Moufarrige is not phased. He said, "There is more buzz definitely but we are in a recession. The criticism was harsh. I am sure we can do better in the collection to be honest but I think it was harsh." Do you think the criticism was unfair and that Lindsay should be allowed a second chance?

Emanuel Ungaro Calls Lindsay's Collab a Disaster

You weren't the only one hating Lindsay Lohan and Estrella Arch's heart pasties: Emanuel Ungaro despised them, too. The designer, who parted ways with his namesake label back in 2005, has kept mum about the collaboration - until now. In a recent press conference, Ungaro stated, "Lindsay Lohan's collaboration was a disaster. I am furious but I can't do anything about it."

Ungaro continues, stating that the Paris fashion house "is in the process of losing its soul. That happens to a lot of designers. We were the creators and patrons, responsible for the creation and destiny of our houses. But when we gave up our houses, we gave up our souls," said the designer. Sad.

The Afterparties Don't Stop For the New Moon Crew and LL

The New Moon afterparty fun kicked off with a photo shoot and drinks for Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, but the show soon moved over to Teddy's in Hollywood. It just so happened that Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson met up at the club at the same time that Kellan Lutz hopped out of his limo to head inside. He stopped to say hi to Samantha before having a little trouble entering the private Twilight area. Dakota Fanning flashed her big smile as she headed toward the bash, while Ashley Greene showed off her second dress of the evening. Robert Pattinson, meanwhile, smiled as he talked to reporters and played with a Bella doll. Kristen wasn't out to join the fun, but she was on The Tonight Show yesterday - check out her lengthy interview below!

Lindsay Lohan Takes the Reins at Ungaro

Wow, the rumors were true. Promptly following Esteban Cortazar's exit from Ungaro, the fashion house has tapped Lindsay Lohan as its artistic adviser, alongside new chief designer Estrella Archs. Apparently, Ungaro's chief executive, Mounir Moufarrige, was looking to add excitement to the brand, and no doubt hiring Lindsay has definitely caught everyone's attention. "Odds are it could work," said Moufarrige. “I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big." Lohan and Archs are set to debut their first collection for Ungaro at Paris Fashion Week in October. Thoughts?

Fab Flash: Ungaro Hires New Chief Designer

It's been a tumultuous Summer for Ungaro following the departure of creative director Esteban Cortazar back in July. Today, a line up has been announced which includes relatively unknown name, Estrella Archs, as the chief designer. It also includes the slightly controversial decision to appoint Lindsay Lohan as "artistic adviser".

The pair are expected to present their first collection in Paris on 4th October with both of them coming out together at the end. The brand is hoping to gain publicity (which no doubt it will with Lindsay on board) whether it be good or bad.

Mounir Moufarrige, Ungaro’s chief executive officer explained, “Odds are it could work. Everything we’re going to get is going to be a plus. I think the noise level around Lindsay will be very, very big.”

Lindsay told WWD that she wants to take Ungaro to a "younger place". She added,

"When I’m involved in a project, I give my all to it. I feel like there’s a correlation between everything I do, whether it’s pop music or film. I’ve always played a big part in what I wear, the costumes. Clothing is something that’s so expressive in so many ways. It really interests me."

It has been reported that "Girls Gone Wild" is launching an apparel line with a cheeky tag that reads: "When Clothing Isn't Optional!"

Joe Francis, founder, at the age of 23, of the ten year old business called Girls Gone Wild believes that his new line of apparel will be worth anywhere from $40 - $60 million within the next two years. His empire is currently worth approximately $100 million.

The clothing consists of two sportswear lines called: angel and beach, a swimsuit collection designed by Ashley Paige, and a super sexy intimates collection. The hemlines are short and the bikinis are skimpy - this is a line for a girl who's not shy.

The Drama Continues, Esteban Cortazar Sues Ungaro

UPDATE: Despite rumors, Esteban Cotazar recently revealed that he is still with the fashion house. “I am still there,”said Cortazar, when asked about the Ungaro drama. “We are trying to work things out. We have had some differences but hopefully things will work out for the best, whether I am there or not.”

Following up on last week's breaking news, Esteban Cortazar is now suing Emanuel Ungaro. The young designer has apparently left the fashion house after conflict over new marketing strategies of using celebrities for future ad campaigns - rumors suggested that Ungaro was looking at Lindsay Lohan to act as its "creative consultant." Ungaro is keeping mum, but sources indicate that the house is expected to settle with Esteban.
