Dramatic Dresses And Dapper Dudes at The MTV VMAs

LA was host to the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards last night, and nominees, presenters and performers flocked to the red carpet for the show. Black seemed to be the order of the day as Christina Aguilera, Ashlee Simpson, Miley Cyrus and Heidi Montag showed up in gothic tones, meanwhile Heidi's The Hills arch-enemy Lauren Conrad showed up in a gorgeous short white dress. Pink wore a striking red and black striped number, while Katy Perry turned up in... well, not a lot actually!

I can't wait to hear what you think of all the red carpet attire, so once you've flicked through my gallery of photos let me know your thoughts! The men were either suave in suits like Chace Crawford, Drake Bell, Zac Efron and Josh Peck, or casual in the case of Jonah Hill, Kid Rock and Corbin Bleu.

Lindsay Lohan's "Dating Ad" - Funny or Fail?

Last week, PopUS asked you if you thought Zac Efron's pool party comedy short - including Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Richie, Brody Jenner and Joel Madden - was funny or not so much. Now Lindsay Lohan has uploaded a "dating profile" to the comedy site Funny or Die, and I want to know what you think? She makes fun of all the perceptions of her out there, including her recent split with DJ Samantha Ronson, her family, her partying and more. So, take a look and let me know - is Lindsay's skit funny, or does it fall short of that for you?

While we really, honestly wish Lindsay the best in her attempts to get well, we couldn't help but notice her sly use of the word "Proactive" when describing her decision to enter rehab. Perhaps she was slipping in a plug for the similarly named acne solution for which she shills? Well, it got us thinking...could she be used as the spokesperson for her newest proactive venture as well?

2008 MTV VMAs: Winners And Wicked Performances

As I told you earlier, Britney Spears won three awards last night, sweeping the board at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards. After her cringeworthy comeback performance last year, it felt like this year she'd finally got it all together - she looked stunning in her mini-dress as she opened the show with a skit featuring Jonah Hill (UK readers, you can watch it all unfold on MTV tonight from 8pm). Rihanna, T.I, Christina Aguilera and the Jonas Brothers also put on some memorable performances, with Pink's spectacle of a performance standing out as a particular highlight.

Host Russell Brand has definitely split opinion, much as he does in the UK - you definitely either love him or you hate him! A remark about President Bush possibly didn't warm him to some members of the audience early on, plus a couple of British slang remarks appeared to confuse the international audience - for instance, it appears "yobbos" is not used across the pond! I can't wait to watch it in full tonight to see if he got lost in translation, or if he was off his game.

LL's Stolen Items May Have Been Very Personal

Lindsay Lohan stopped by her LA house to pick up a few more things yesterday. Her home was robbed last weekend, and as her father helps police investigate, more details have come to light about the incident. Apparently some personal items of Lindsay's - possibly including incriminating videos, photos, and legal documents - were taken from her safe, and LL seems to think she knows who is responsible. Meanwhile, LL is reportedly in talks with Britney Spears's manager to star in a reality show about getting back to work as an actress, although this might not be the best way to regain her privacy after feeling so violated.

Lindsay Joins Lily to Sing Britney's "Womanizer"

Recent Shhh . . . tattoo buddies Lindsay Lohan and Lily Allen took a break outside of Lily's concert in LA last night. Lindsay and her mom came to support Lily, and when she performed "Womanizer," LL jumped on stage to sing - sort of - and dance around while the crowd cheered. Lindsay's had a busy week fighting off rumors about both her diet and her relationship with Samantha, but we all know there's nothing like belting out Britney with a close friend to let loose and forget any stress. Samantha Has a Bittersweet Serenade For Lindsay

Lindsay Lohan held on and followed Samantha Ronson out after a performance at a restaurant in LA last night. Samantha gave her DJ skills a rest, instead she showed off her talents as a singer/guitarist, which she formerly demonstrated on the Mean Girls soundtrack. This time, she dedicated a song to Lindsay saying, "You get your heart broken sometimes and then you unbreak it and break it again." The lyrics hit home in terms of describing their rocky relationship - check out video of her performance after the jump. While Samantha works on her music, LL is taking on spray tanning and possibly a new movie with Warren Beatty as the girls try to smooth out the bumps in their relationship.
