While Jessica Simpson has been busy promoting her country album, her film Major Movie Star has quietly been sent straight to DVD. This is the second time in a row for Jessica, but the film is still a No.1 hit in Russia, and she's had success in the past with The Dukes of Hazzard. So what you do think - does Jess still have a shot at being a movie star?

From the start, Jessica Simpson's upcoming movie Major Movie Star has gotten a lot of flack. Considering her attempts at film thus far including most recently Blonde Ambition going straight to DVD, the expectations are pretty low for her latest. Here is the preview and our first real look at Jessica's homage to Private Benjamin. I don't want to ruin the experience with too many words so take a look for yourself and let me know. Jessica Simpson Celebrates Run @ Work Day

Looks like someone got the memo that it's National Run @ Work Day! Jessica looked fantastic working on her fitness on the set of Major Movie Star - it even put a smile on her face to get that heart rate going. She put down her usual Fuze for some plain old delicious Fiji Water taking a break from the grueling task at hand. It looks like Jessica's celebrating the day (and of course I'm about to go run the stairs of our building a few times, wink), but are you going to take part in Run @ Work Day?

Jessica Simpson Is Down And Out

Jessica isn't really letting her mascara situation get that bad, she's in LA filming a scene from Major Movie Star. Apparently she finds herself slumped on the ground outside of a liquor store, sucking down Dom Perignon straight out of the bottle. Well, if you're gonna set up camp on the street, may as well do it in style. Fits right in with her new red wine diet. I'm not sure exactly how much MMS is borrowing from Private Benjamin (in which a wealthy woman joins the army when her husband dies on their wedding night), but it does kinda look like Jess is hitting her low point in a wedding dress. Eesh. Hey, at least her hair looks nice. Even if this ends up being another straight to video release, maybe that country album will be a hit?

Jessica's Not A Major Movie Diva

Jessica Simpson showed off those toned arms of hers as she toted adorable Daisy around between takes of Major Movie Star. We haven't seen much of Jess lately, but that doesn't mean she isn't making headlines. There was a nasty little rumor that she was acting like a diva on set, however, her co-star Vivica A. Fox recently jumped to her defense. She said, "Those vicious lies they put out were just that – lies. She was so much of a team player. She was gracious and so down to earth." We're definitely glad to hear that Jess isn't being a brat, especially since her film career hasn't exactly earned her bragging rights just yet.

Jessica & Her Fabulously Fit Body Fly To Boot Camp

Jessica Simpson got ready to board a private jet yesterday with Daisy. Apparently she's off to boot camp to prep for her film, Major Movie Star. It's obvious she's already been working hard to get in shape. In fact, she even admitted that she owes it all to her trainer, Harley Pasternak. She credits him for helping her maintain and create some new curves. Jess said,

"He's given me a butt, because I have white-girl syndrome. I have to do as many squats as I can to get a little booty. ... I have to be [diligent]. I'm a curvy girl. You don't want to see me not working out."

"Curves are better," she says. "I don't get the whole rail thing. It's not good for your heart, it's not good for your mind; it's emotionally destructive, it really is."

Well, Ms. Simpson is certainly acting like a good role model lately for those of us who want to look hot and fit like her.

Be an Extra in Jessica Simpson's New Movie

Jessica has been working overtime to get in tip top shape for her latest film, Major Movie Star. It begins shooting July 16th but Shreveport, LA is already preparing for Jessica's arrival. In fact, if you want to try to be a big movie star yourself, you can attend an open casting call for extras on June 30th. They are especially looking for a few great men and women with a military appearance between the ages of 18-50. Click here to learn more. Jessica's whirlwind tour of Cannes to promote Major Movie Star is over. She's already back in NYC, but before she left France she took time to sign autographs and show off her honey colored hair. In the upcoming film she plays an actress who signs up for boot camp when she is sick of being typecast into blonde bimbo roles. Jess says that the movie's striking resemblance to Goldie Hawn's Private Benjamin is no mistake, saying about Hawn, "I adore her and look up to her. I aspire to be her." As for her break-up? Rumor has it that she and John went on a date last night, and John was seen leaving Jess' NYC hotel room with a big smile on his face. Hmm, so much for our trying to help find her a new man?

In other Jessica Simpson news, she is planning on expanding her line of shoes and bags to include intimates inspired by the Jess. Jessica described the collection as "fun, flirty and exactly what I would want to wear.” Papa Joe must be so proud.
