Burberry to Launch Its Own Cosmetics Line

If you already love your Burberry trench, scarf, bikini, and handbag, get ready to add makeup to your collection, because WWD is reporting that the company has just announced the colors for its cosmetics line, which is slated to arrive in July 2010. Philippe Benacin, chairman and managing director of Inter Parfums SA, says the collection will be "a complete color line with about 100 references for eyes, lips, and skin" and will be carried at Nordstrom. My question is, though, how will Burberry create makeup that's any better than what a company that specializes in the products does? I assume they'll be using colors that hearken back to the brand's heritage, like Burberry tan, but are you interested in having your eye shadow match your knockoff? With Emma Watson currently the line's face, it seems as though the brand is making a grab for younger buyers, which means less-expensive products like makeup. Hopefully they'll try to bring quality and design to the table as well.

Emma Stone sure knows how to glam it up, doesn't she? At last night's GQ Men of the Year event in LA, the actress wowed in this subtle lavender shadow. Encircling the eyes with makeup can look raccoon-like, but Emma manages to pull it off, thanks to a light touch and a soft-toned shade. The great thing about this cooler-toned shade is that it looks great during all seasons, and it just happens to be very of-the-moment. You can look pretty in purple shadow, too. By now I am sure you've all seen this musical hit from last year. In this film, our American Beauty traded in her famous golden tresses for rich dark locks and transformed herself to resemble the American singer June Carter Cash.

Her hair and makeup were gorgeous and when the movie was released I got many requests to help y'all find the perfect pink lipstick shades she wore in the movie. Below are two different powerful pink lip looks from the movie; one evening and one day. Enjoy!

In this scene, Reese is wearing a combo of Paul and Joe Lipstick in Camelia Fou, (a more hot pink color than the coral shade example that is shown), $18 and La Femme Lipstick in Coral Glow, $5.

Tim Burton was the man of the hour at the MoMA exhibit paying tribute to his amazing work and imagination in NYC yesterday. He had Helena Bonham Carter on one arm and his good friend Johnny Depp on the other as stars came out to celebrate Tim. With fans already excited for Alice in Wonderland, Tim's art lined the walls at the museum. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were among the attendees as was Ashley Greene who looked refreshed in an LBD despite a long week of New Moon promotion including Monday's big premiere. She looked amazing as usual - check out how to get her makeup look here - and made us smile on the red carpet with her adorable personality. Overall, Tim's big night at the MoMA lived up to his eccentric personality and amazing talent with an exhibit that his fans can now enjoy.

Want To Look Like Madonna, or at Least Have Skin Like Her?

Just like our bodies need oxygen to be healthy, our skin does too. Enter Michelle Peck, facialist to Madonna, Gwyneth, Jennifer Lopez, Molly Sims, Justin Timberlake and Eva Longoria (just to drop a few names). She started off as a masseuse, however, her career really began to take off when she connected with skincare brand Intraceuticals and began putting her own healing touch on their oxygen treatment called Intraceuticals Infusion.

Those who have experienced Michelle's work, just can't stay away, and I can understand why. After speaking with her at length, not only did I find her to be open, kind and warm, but she is also overflowing with depth, compassion and perspective. Her time spent with famous faces (ehem, she's been on two world tours with Madonna where she gave her a treatment before every single show) has not jaded her one bit. In fact, she is more concerned with the Earth, the human spirit and her charity of choice, Raising Malawi, than with outer beauty.

Intraceuticals came to the US about six years ago from Australia and is now available in over 35 countries. Michelle decided to come on board with them and eventually become their spokesperson because she saw something unique in their technology. Never before has there been a brand that combines 95% hyaluronic acid (the connective tissue that keeps skin lubricated and cushioned aka, young looking) mixed with hyperbaric pressure (oxygen under pressure) and 5% of vitamins A, C, E, aloe vera and green tea extract.

Keep in mind that plumping products/treatments like restylane and juvederm are forms of hyaluronic acid, but, you need to inject them into the skin because of the large-sized molecules. However, combined with the hyperbaric pressure, the Intraceuticals molecules are small enough to be driven into the skin with a machine that looks like an airbrush gun.

The entire treatment takes about an hour and are recommended to be done in a series of six every seven to ten days. After that, monthly maintenance is suggested. Sessions with Michelle are £325 each, but can go as low as £150 with other estheticians. Celebrities are so passionate about these treatments because there's no redness afterward, so you can put makeup on within 15 minutes. The end results are instant, but long term results are even better as it helps to minimize pores, tighten, firm, and hydrates the skin at the deepest level. Hey, if Madonna has been a fan for over four and a half years, there must be something to this! And if you want what Madge is having, ask for the Rejuvenation Treatment.

You must travel so much for work, how do you keep your skin looking good? I love serums because they penetrate deeper into my skin than creams.
What's your advice for keeping your skin young and healty? I'm big on staying out of the sun. Some of the most damaged skin I've seen in the world is sun damaged skin. I also use my treatment on the hands, necks and chest.
What's your favourite product? The Opulence Line Wand is great for under eye circles, and the Clarity Line Wand helps dry out blemishes really well.
What other skin care products does Madonna use? Atoxlelene Wand, Eye Gel and Blue Hydration Gel (which is rich in hyaluronic acid). The products support the treatments, but they aren't meant to replace your favourite product line. You can use whatever products you like in addition to ours.
What's your philosophy on beauty? Beauty truly comes from within. I'm very involved in Madonna's charity, Raising Malawi and have been to Malawi often. I find that helping others brings you personal happiness and inner beauty.

Would You Be Into Kate Moss Hair and Makeup Products?

Kate Moss has been at the center of the modeling world for 20 years, and we've seen her as the face of all sorts of brands, from the prestigious Gucci, Dior, and Louis Vuitton down to drugstore favorite, Rimmel. Recently, the supermodel, who admits she's "not traditionally a beauty" to WWD, has just launched Vintage ($23-$53), a fruity floriental inspired by her love of vintage fashions.

But as you might know, this isn't the first scent we've seen from Kate. Her debut fragrance, Kate, was introduced in 2007. Then came Velvet Hour, followed by the limited-edition Kate Summer Time; and she's not about to stop now. In fact, Kate also has plans to create special makeup collections for Rimmel, and a haircare line with stylist James Brown is in the works. "It’s fun for me," Moss told WWD. "I still model, and I enjoy doing that as well. Working on the creative process is really interesting for me because I do know what I like, so it’s fun for me to realize that it becomes part of you. Reader Review of the Day: Estée Lauder Foundation Brush

Zoot alors! My favorite foundation brush recently bit the dust. After searching through the Product Reviews pages, I think I might just have to give Estée Lauder Foundation Brush 1F ($30) a try. Reader brandysbug had nothing but positive things to say about this makeup brush, and here's why:

When I purchased this brush, it was a huge splurge for me. I just don't usually drop $30 on something like a brush, but I was pregnant, having major acne problems, was totally into the Estée Lauder Resilience Lift makeup line, and the saleslady talked me right into it. For liquid foundation, this is absolutely a wonderful brush. It helps to get the most from your bottle as it provides better coverage with less makeup than possible with other methods (sponge/fingers). This brush definitely helped me out covering up some very bad acne. It provided the full coverage I needed without piling too much makeup on. The results of using this brush with liquid foundation were astounding. My face almost looked airbrushed. I would recommend this to anyone who is considering buying a new foundation brush. It's worth the $30.
