Responding to calls from his neighbors, police in Florida arrived at 4 a.m. to the murky scene of a naked man struggling in a lake in the jaws of an 11-foot alligator.

Since he left Skins, Nicholas Hoult has been building his movie career, with his role in A Single Man helping to secure his BAFTA nomination for the Orange Rising Star Award this year. Don't forget you can vote for him or fellow nominees Kristen Stewart, Carey Mulligan, Jesse Eisenberg and Tahir Rahim at the BAFTA website! We'll also see him in Clash of the Titans and now he has been made the NSPCC's first ambassador for children and young people!

Last night A Single Man — the debut film from designer Tom Ford out on Feb 12— had its UK premiere in London. The star of the movie, Colin Firth, attended with his stylish wife Livia — FabUK has all the details on why you should watch what she's wearing! Matthew Goode and Nicholas Hoult were among the other actors from the film that attended, looking sharp in their suits, while Liz Hurley looked stunning in her printed dress.

Tom Ford's directorial debut finally came to London last night as the film premiered in Mayfair. The movie typically attracted a fashionable audience with designers Stella McCartney, Patrick Cox and Valentino all appearing on the red carpet. There were also a few models and the cast of the film which includes British actors Colin Firth and Nicholas Hoult.

Spider-Man 4 may be dead, but Sony is wasting no time in moving on to its replacement. Word is the studio has hired (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb to orchestrate the first film in the new saga — as well as two additional movies based around the younger Peter Parker and his spandexed alter ego. The news may seem surprising for a relative newcomer to feature film, but Webb supposedly has two things in his favor: Columbia's chairman Amy Pascal likes him, and he comes with a much cheaper price tag than veteran Sam Raimi.

Following recent script woes, Sony has announced via press release that it's pulling the plug on Spider-Man 4. In its place, they're developing a fresh storyline that takes the webslinger back to high school. The film will reportedly focus "on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises" (wait, I thought that was the first Spider-Man?!).

When sports contracts are signed, no one knows if the giant bags of gold are worth it, but owners bank on a player's stats, hype, and skills and everyone gets lucky when a team assembles the right roster and makes it to the final championship. It's just the same as us regular folk getting hired, only our salaries look like chump change in comparison and we don't have 100 million people watching our biggest projects of the year. So what did this year's lucky players from the Colts and Saints pull in last year?
