Naked + Alligator + Smoking Crack = Wack

Crack is wack, but do it naked and add an angry alligator, and you pretty much have this guy's crappy day yesterday.

Responding to calls from his neighbors, police in Florida arrived at 4 a.m. to the murky scene of a naked man struggling in a lake in the jaws of an 11-foot alligator. It took four officers about thirty seconds in a "tug-of-war" with the beast before they were able to pry him away. The man later told police he had been smoking crack, but it's still unclear what he was doing at the lake. In the latest update, he broke one arm and probably lost another. He's in critical condition and of course I hope he pulls through.

I gotta say, though, I'm beginning to agree with Drew Curtis over at Fark: Florida might in fact be a category all its own. Some really, really strange things happen there. Often.

Which Actress Should Play The Black Cat in Spider-Man 4?

The rumor mill keeps churning about Spider-Man 4. Let's recap: First, word spread that Rachel McAdams would be playing new villain Felicia Hardy, aka The Black Cat in the fourquel - hearsay which McAdams later denied. Earlier this week Julia Stiles's name started floating around instead. And now Anne Hathaway is the latest to be added to the running.

Hathaway and Spidey seem like a solid pairing - she'll up the A-list wattage of the film, and I think a superhero blockbuster would be a nice addition to her resume. But what about Stiles? She's been in the Jason Bourne series, so she does have the experience of working on a mega franchise. Still, I just can't imagine her busting chops and throwing around kicks like Hathaway.

Neither actress is even confirmed yet, which means other ladies could still step into the roles! Let's discuss who you would like to see take on The Black Cat part -Stiles, Hathaway, or do you have another actress that you would cast?

People magazine came out with its annual issue of the hottest guys in Hollywood, and leading the pack is this year's Sexiest Man Alive - Johnny Depp! He spent last night toasting his great friend Tim Burton at a MoMA benefit, but today all eyes are on Johnny due to his latest accolade. This marks the second time Johnny takes home the title, though he shares the distinction with a few other guys. Ryan Reynolds also earned praise from the publication, as did Robert Pattinson, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Bradley Cooper - click here to see the full list of winners. Can You See Rachel McAdams as a Villain?

I've been waiting for some kind of casting update on Spider-Man 4 for a while now, and this week rumors are flying about the franchise's newest bad guys. There have been whispers that the next film may feature two villains (male and female), and that Rachel McAdams is in talks to play Felicia Hardy, aka The Black Cat.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but I like the sound of this news; I'm a big fan of McAdams and I think she's too often pigeonholed into playing the nice girl (except for Regina George, obviously). What do you think - can you see McAdams as a villain, or do that big smile and dimples belong somewhere else (like on a new love interest for Peter Parker)?

Plug Into This Cute Robot Power Strip

I love it when someone takes a boring household item that we all need - like a power strip - and turns it into something fun. Case in point: the Electric Man power strip from Urban Outfitters. This cute robot-shaped power strip has four grounded outlets - one on each of the little guy's appendages. The main power switch is on his side, and you can see whether or not he's powered up by checking the red light above his heart. Add it to the list of cute robot goodies on my wish list!

DIY Geeky Pac-Man-Carved Pumpkins

The hardest part about making these adorable 8-bit gourds is finding just the right pumpkins to carve! Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories the creators of this Pac-Man-carved creation, suggest finding a bagful of these decorative gourds at the grocery store - try to find one with a curvy base and a rounded one with a flat base.

And now that you've got the perfect pumpkins, here's how you should carve your pumpkins:

Gourds like these have a hard shell, about 3mm thick, that is rather hard to cut through. We used a loose drill bit (turned by hand) to make the initial cut. From there, a regular hobby knife (e.g., X-acto) works well. Once the soft flesh and seeds are scooped out, the hard shell can dry to make a semipermanent display.

Stranger Than Fiction! Man Marries Video Game Character

This past Sunday a man known as "Sal9000" and his fiancé Nene Anegasaki vowed to stay together until death, or a power outage, do them part. You see Sal9000's new wife Nene happens to be a video game character in the addictive Nintendo DS game Love Plus. A priest, live audience, MC, and friends of the happy couple were also present at the event, and the bride's virtual maid of honor even gave a speech. A slideshow recounted how the couple met and teased Sal for being quite the player before he met Nene - he had lots of other video game girlfriends. The whole event was livecasted, and Boing Boing put together the video below so we could all witness this unique wedding.

This story might be the first time I've heard of someone marrying an anime character, but I have read about those who "marry" other inanimate objects. The term "objectum sexuals" describes people who feel attraction, arousal, love, and commitment for objects. One woman even held a ceremony in Paris and married the Eiffel Tower. Talk about nontraditional weddings.
