Matt LeBlanc isn't the only Friend who's heading back to TV — his former on-screen roommate Matthew Perry has a new sitcom of his own in the works.
The comedy revolves around a narcissistic manager of a sports arena who starts rethinking his life plan when he turns 40. (Is it just me or does this sound like it may have been inspired by Perry's most recent movie, 17 Again?) Clearly this is a pet project of Perry's: he's set to star in, co-write, and executive produce the single-camera comedy, which will be produced by Sony Pictures TV.

A Friends spinoff movie appears to be closer than ever after comments made over the weekend, by James Michael-Tyler who played Gunther in the hit show. He said, "Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen."

Jennifer Garner couldn't stop laughing at last night's LA premiere of The Invention of Lying. She was joined by costars Rob Lowe and Ricky Gervais, who showcased his infamous giggle. Earlier yesterday Jennifer made an appearance on The Jay Leno Show, where she made husband Ben Affleck proud by successfully reciting the starting lineup for the Boston Red Sox.

Ricky Gervais was all dressed up for the Hollywood premiere of his new movie and silver screen directorial debut The Invention of Lying which took place last night! His costars Rob Lowe and Jennifer Garner posed for the photographers before heading into the screening, with Jennifer towering over Ricky in her high heels! Ugly Betty's Ashley Jensen was one of the guests at the premiere, along with her baby bump, so it was also something of an Extras reunion!

Ryan Reynolds took the stage at Club Largo in LA last night to do a reading for Celebrity Autobiography: In Their Own Words. He was joined by other celebs like Matthew Perry to read from memoirs of fellow Hollywood stars that may not have been intended as funny but take on a new meaning when read aloud to the audience. Ryan and his big smile provided lots of laughs, and we're excited to see his sense of humor this weekend in The Proposal.

I always did love Chandler the most: former Friends star Matthew Perry has been making the rounds lately for his role in 17 Again as an old Zac Efron, but he's got my attention for an entirely different reason: He's a huge gamer, obsessed with the Wii game Klonoa.
After mentioning that he was playing Klonoa a lot, Perry addressed his flock on Twitter with a funny and only slightly disturbing tweet:
Many of you have asked what klonoa game I am playing. It's the new one on the wii.

Zac Efron continued his run as man of the hour at last night's LA premiere of 17 Again. This time he had some of his friends out to share his moment, including girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens, the Jonas Brothers, costars Leslie Mann, Michelle Trachtenberg and more. Matthew Perry looked fairly youthful himself beside his younger self Efron — see the resemblance?

Bad news for folks who were hoping to see The L Word's Alice in prison or Matthew Perry getting foul-mouthed: Showtime has passed on both the L Word spin-off and Perry's comedy The End of Steve.
Steve featured Perry as a bitter afternoon TV talk show host, with a script co-written by Perry and Peter Tolan. Showtime once thought the duo would be "a twisted match made in heaven," but apparently the final product didn't seem right for the network.

Sure, 17 Again looks an awful lot like Big in reverse (or one half of Freaky Friday), but you know what? The trailer looks really cute. Matthew Perry plays a down-on-his-luck dad who gets the chance to be 17 years old again (this is where Zac Efron comes in).

17 Again — a new comedy with a Big-like storyline — has a great cast including Zac Efron, Matthew Perry, Leslie Mann, Michelle Trachtenberg and Hunter Parrish.
Matthew plays Mike O'Donnell, a guy whose life didn't quite turn out how he wanted it to, who wishes he could go back to high school and change it. Something magical occurs and he wakes up in his 17 year old body (as Zac) to relive his youth.
