Accidentally on Purpose recently made a crack that she knows the stages of womanhood by Meg Ryan movies, and it immediately made me miss seeing the actress in romantic comedies. The trailer for
Serious Moonlight may look like a twisted rom-com, but hey, there's mention of love and definitely comedy, so I'm interested.
From the late Adrienne Shelley (who wrote
Waitress) and directed by
Curb Your Enthusiasm's Cheryl Hines, Serious Moonlight portrays Ryan as a woman who kinda loses it when she learns of her husband's affair with a younger woman (played by Timothy Hutton and Kristen Bell, respectively).

I feel for Meg Ryan! Trying to make it back into being a "A" rated actor is hard with the competition and her recent movies being flops at the box office.
If I were her; I beg "Tom Hanks" or "Billy Crystal" to co-star with her in a her specialized romantic comedy picture to get her back in the right direction.
Oh well; if Brittany can do it; maybe there is hope for Meg!
1oh i would love to see Meg in a movie w/ Tom Hanks or even Billy Crystal again!!! i hope that this does well, just because i have such a soft spot for her.
i really wish she'd go easy on the botox/lip injections though....
2I don't see much hope for this.
3I am surprised they re-paired Meg and Timothy together.. they had zero chemistry in French Kiss which made it all the harder to picture her going to such great lengths to win him back.. now this story seems like a parallel universe..what if Kate and Charlie had gotten married and THEN Charlie cheated.. what would Kate have done.
I am disappointed already..
4YES! I'm on board. To heck with the lip talk, she's absolutely unparalleled as a leading lady. She has all the magic working for her when she's got a good script and the right enthusiasm. I'm sure there's much more gold left to mine out of her!
5I would definitely see this. I love Meg Ryan, and have missed seeing her in movies lately. Also I loved her and Timothy Hutton in French Kiss (which is one of my favorite movies).
