Sep 17 2009 - 1:00pm It's a tale that'll go down in burger history. At an event this week in London, Guinness World Records revealed a host of new record breakers, among them a 185-pound, $499 whopper of a hamburger, which is officially the
world's largest. The record belongs to
Mallie's Sports Grill and Bar in Southgate, MI.

They're kind of cool-looking, but it's not something that you'd actually want to eat. Definitely not very appetizing!
1I don't know how I feel about that meat-to-cheese ratio. At least they didn't have the balls to call it a "cheeseburger."
2what's the point of doing this??? there are starving children in africa...
3This Burger is 74 pounds short of a record...I was part of a team that ate 70 pounds of a 259 lb Hamburger at the Clinton Station Diner in NJ 2 Years ago.....looks like Guinness missed the Big One! Check out the link for a Picture of the Spartan Burger!!

4I know -- I told Party I thought the meat looked gross! Apparently, there is such a thing as too much meat.
5Ewww :|
6I think it's kind of fun as long as the results are distributed and consumed. If they make it and waste it, I would find that really upsetting.
7darc, i agree. It would be a cool end to a fun story if they donated it to a homeless shelter. Though it doesn't look appetizing, i'll bet people would get a kick out of eating a guiness record burger.
8@ObiWingKenobi: Actually, there's this 300 lbs one in Japan. http://aht.seriouseats.com/archives/2009/07/worlds-largest-burger-miyaza...
9gross.
10the meat looks like a tire
11Wunami...thank you, I stand corrected...I think the one I ate looked much better though!!
12Yeah. The weird squid ink bun does not look very appetizing to me either.
